cyanogen mod 5 (2.1)
froyobylaszlo (2.2)
ezGingerbread (2.3)
Cyanogen Mod 7 (2.3)

well you have a developers phone so it is already unlocked and rooted. depending on which rom you are trying to flash you may need to change up your radio\spl. but the problem looks like you are trying to flash a zip file through recovery that isnt signed. cant do this. try another link or another rom all together
By going into a local Tmobile and asking for a galaxy s 2 update ;-)

1. He doesn't have a galaxy s 2
2. I don't think tmobile cares about the g1 anymore
3. If you are trying to say that your samsuck is better than our g1.......get out....

Anyways, I think the devphone might need a different ota update, but really why don't you want a custom rom? Its even easier for you since you are rooted...

thanks 4 reply..... give me link or any rom
i m new in android & htc ....
what do you have for a recovery? (when you hold power + home what happens) if you dont have amon_ra get that first, then new radio\spl and work your way to the 2708+
after this is done try lets say froyobylazslo (because it works and is a quick n easy flash) sounds like a lot to someone new to android i know but we all had to do this at one point we were all noobs! so do a bit of research in the threads first and if you cant figure all this out on your own then ask again and we would be happy to help (you will be much more satisfied if you do a bit of research and figure it out on your own) good luck, start with recovery, then new radio\spl and we can work from here

i have rooted my phone using the application universal androot... because i cant do it the normal way so i had to use the application..

and my dream is currently running on the stock 1.6 my first time trying to update
can anyone give a set of instructions on what to do . or upload a video that will help???? please help ...!!!!!!!!!!
Woah woah, first of all if your gonna use cy 5 let it sit for a bit and it will start up. Its installin' the rom and all the other stuff.
And the reason why cy 6 doesn't work is cause you need danger/death spl flashed onto your device.
Make sure you do a factory wipe clean and follow all the steps below the ORIGINAL thread on here.
Good luck.
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
Oh and by the way...cy 5 also needs danger/death spl flashed.
Look that up and make sure you follow the right steps.
If you do anything wrong, BYE BYE G1 it will brick.
So flash the radio first...and well just follow the steps...than flash cy 5.
Again...good luck.

I have been waiting since I heard Google was sending on the gingerbread update to the nexus one's. However I still haven't received mine yet nor update 2.2.2.
Under settings /about phone:-
- Android 2.2.1
- Build: FRG38D
- Hboot: 0.35.0017
- Radio: 5.12.00.08
Any ideas? I have tried manually updating but didn't work for me.
Many thanks,

FRG38D aint it?
You're not running stock Google ROM. You're most probably running Vodafone modified firmware. In that case, you won't ever get Google OTA, you'll get Vodafone's - which isn't released yet, and who knows when will it be.
To install Gingerbread, you need to revert your phone to stock Google version. Read the Wiki and see, how. Look for "unroot/restore" guide.
You can also just root your phone and install one of the lightly modified stock GB ROMs (like Geo411's) from Development forum.

Again, i'm new and newbie.. really appreciate for any help given...
i just brought my SGS since month ago... went to samsung service center for twice for shortcut missing problem & GPS no signal (Thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043034 it helps alot)
Now... most headache, lag issue.. memory full....
So.. is there any solution for this? i know root and flash might help but how can i do this? i read some threads around, but i not sure which to choose... or should i wait for official android 2.3? Will 2.3 solve my lag/hang issue? I don't know what is root or flash exactly, what can it do? any disadvantages?
Oh! and what is JIT? I heard it can make apps run faster! worth a try?
I don't mind and hardcore/heavy solution(need advance skill) as long there is a tutorial for me xD
Really appreciate for any help and advises ^^ TQ very much..

Want you need to do it search for username ramad or chainfire on rooting your phone... they offer good guides on how to do it or go and sign up to this website.... www.darkyroms.com... good luck...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Ok! I found some ramad's post, will have a try... some question here.. can you help me out?...
Root means i can bypass OS permission and configure the system my self right? How about flash? erase the default firmware(original android os?) and install a new one? Will it cause some hardware failure or unable to use some features like wifi, bluetooth, gps? or maybe it will enhance it? !
After flash... some apps will unable to use right? because many apps support original os like 2.2, 2.3... if after i flash it... my os is not android 2.2, etc anymore right?
And just now i factory reset my phone.. now it unable to play Mp4 file.. it say i need to convert to supported format when transfer to phone... it is strange that i never have this error before, although i was transferring the same Mp4 file that i use to play in my phone before.
Flash your phone with Darky's 9.5 link was given by chrisdavesants
It's really easy to do too and plenty of guides are around.
Although it is a Froyo (2.2.1) rom it is far more stable than any Gingerbread rom's
Everything works just as it would on a stock rom.

Good luck on that but i tell you no difference....
Root means i can bypass OS permission and configure the system my self right? Yes!!
How about flash? erase the default firmware(original android os?) and install a new one? Right...
Will it cause some hardware failure or unable to use some features like wifi, bluetooth, gps?No or maybe it will enhance it? ! Some enhancements are feasible on custom roms...
After flash... some apps will unable to use right? Didnot experience any apps not working... everything worked...
because many apps support original os like 2.2, 2.3...custom roms are based on official 2.2 or/and 2.3 so they are the same features are just enhanced...
if after i flash it... my os is not android 2.2, etc anymore right? Depends on what you flash... will stay 2.2.1 for froyo or 2.3.3 with ginger
And just now i factory reset my phone.. now it unable to play Mp4 file.. it say i need to convert to supported format when transfer to phone... it is strange that i never have this error before, although i was transferring the same Mp4 file that i use to play in my phone before.

Hey guys i was just right now successful in flashing my phone with gingerbread IS and i love the speed and everything !! i saw manyy people asking questions about how to flash and everything and once upon a time even i was in a troublesome state with this problem so made this thread for noobs !!
Step 1 : Download the WWE update i.e.RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.12.405.7_Radio_20 .2804.30.085AU_3805.04.03.22_M_release_187295_sign ed from the thread link given below , as it is supposed to be the latest as mentioned by a lot of members !!
here's the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033922
Step 2 : A Gold Card, enables you to install official Android ROMs intended for your phone . Note that if you want to flash custom ROMs, you will have to permanently root your phone instead.
Creation of Gold Card :
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-make-gold-card-for-htc-desire-hd/
This link mentions Desire HD but even works for Incredible S ..
Step 3 :
Here you require the previously downloaded WWE file just run it click on " next "
as per the instructions go !!
make sure you have atleast connected your phone once to htc sync software before performing this complete operation !!
One more thing the microSd that you turn into the GoldCard can be reformatted and used again as a regular mmc !!
Enjoy your HTC Incredible S with Gingerbread and HTC Sense 2.1 !!! Special thanks to knightrocker helping me out with flashing my IS !! Click the thanks button if you like this post !!
Addition :
This is a full rom and will erase everything!
If u wish to retain ur apps just do the exact same but download the OTA from the other thread instead of this one ...
will my current apps and settings be wiped or need to reinstall everything again?
yea
your phone will be wiped off
