Can't get tilt scrolling to work. Anyone got it working?
Scrolling works fine here. But I can't get it to force show desktop versions of certain websites. It'll only show the mobile versions. Also, getting to bookmarks is a bit cumbersome as there are no quick controls as in the standard browser.
Don't expect flash to ever work. Read a FAQ somewhere that there are no plans.
Really wish you could set the us string. Scrolling is super fast.

I agree, it's very fast. Looks awesome on the Xoom. I'm fine without having flash, in fact, I haven't had flash installed for a long time and I've gotten along fine without it. I'll be glad to see some more features added to Chrome.
one thing I noticed (only compared one wiki page) is that chrome for android shows for text (about 2 extra lines) compared to default browser (on my xoom in landscape)
Not regular scrolling. There's supposed to be tilt scrolling where tilting your tablet up or down will scroll using the accelerometer . Also just found out about tab swiping. If you swipe your finger from the edge of the screen you can swipe between tabs. Awesome
Thought tilt scrolling was something different. Guess it doesn't work on tablet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bzdcw6WSr8&feature=player_embedded

Works good on Eos 1.0.0. I don't really notice any improvement or slowness vs. the stock browser yet. Awesome to see a daily desktop application make its way over to the tablet though.
So, if chrome is just came out then technically what is the browser on the android os? I take it chrome will replace it in future releases?

The stock browser on Android has always been a separate app. Word on the street is that Chrome will replace the stock browser when it's out of beta, and the current browser will no longer be available in the open source Android os.

It's ok. It doesn't seem as smooth as the builtin browser in ICS. I'm really surprised they didn't make it overwrite the builtin browser like they do with Gmail updates, etc.
Well it's still beta...

Awesome!

Yeah, the standard browser already has Chrome bookmark sync. I think the Chrome beta has quite a ways to catch up to the standard browser's performance.
Seems kinda flaky sometimes, but that is expected cause it's still in beta! It does render much quicker than the stock browser does, and the animations are very cool!!
I like the other devices option.

Yeah, render speed is good. Actually scrolling and clicking is real sluggish though. And the omnibox really slows down typing. It makes the stock keyboard freeze for a second after almost each button press. Maybe it is different on the Galaxy Nexus which has beefier hardware.

chrome to phone
Using chrome to phone addon is a quick way to get links and other stuff to your phone from your computer
I like Chrome a lot, I just prefer the appearance of the stock ICS browser, with the full-screen and thumb controls and stuff (which admittedly would be tricky to implement into Chrome with the tab switching, which I also really like). Chrome also has MUCH better tap-to-zoom and text entry than the stock ICS Browser.
But is it just me, or does Chrome seem like a bit of a battery hog?

meh, rendering is only so so
I installed Chrome on my Galaxy Nexus, but it has no flash. I understand the pros and cons of flash, but in my opinion until flash is no longer used, there is no reason to leave it out of the browser. Why hasn't Google rid themselves of flash on the PC?
The sync to the desktop is really useful though. No need to add bookmarks etc everything is just way that it is on computer.
It's my go to browser over opera and stock
Sync is vital to me. I was shocked when I realised that standard Android browser didn't support Chrome bookmarks sync. Like it was on iPhone OS 3 back then. Now I'm angry because Android Chrome is ICS exlusive.
I hope Chrome gets better soon. The ICS stock browser is just so good I can't justify using Chrome for now.

Yes...Chrome definitely blows for Android. Sad really. Chrome to phone and all the syncing options are really nice, but the browser itself is just awful. Hoping Google really gives this some love soon b/c as others have said, the stock regular browser that has been on Android forever is so much nicer.
Just by watching videos, I can already tell that I hate the Chrome browser. It can have a horrendous amount of lag, and it is extremely annoying having to watch reviews that show this sub-par browsing experience when I know for a fact that all of this dreadful performance could be alleviated by switching to the AOSP browser. Google quite obviously did this to promote their browser, but it does not do good for the Nexus 7 image.
Hmm have you guys fully updated your n7's? Chrome is blazing fast for me. Haven't had a single issue with it except for Swype entering spaces after every letter in the address bar sometimes.

I saw this yesterday and thought I'd share:
http://www.nkonecny.com/blog/2012/07/19/adding-flash-to-nexus-7/
Download Adobe Flash Play 11.1 apk here or download it from XDA Developers. After the file has downloaded open and install it.
Please be sure that “Install from unkown sources” is checked off in the Android settings for the Nexus 7.
Install Firefox Beta browser from the Android Market.
That’s it, now you have Flash support on your Android 4.1 (JellyBean) Google Nexus 7 tablet! Couple things to note:
1. This will NOT work with the current build of Google Chrome. A dev may fix this in the future but Google nor Adobe will be adding Flash support to any future builds of Android. I’ve also tried: ICS+ Browser and Dolphin Browser HD, both of which don’t work with the method used above. FireFox seems to be the only browser currently that works with the flash plugin in Android 4.1.
2. that by default FireFox Beta has plugins set to on demand which can cause some minor inconviences, however you can remedy this by going to:
FireFox Beta settings (three dots to right corner) -> Settings -> Plugins -> Select: Enabled

To head off the inevitable....Flash will not work on the Play Store version of Dolphin as they disabled it on Jellybean. You'd need to side load an older apk.

Well this version does work on my nexus 7 and the stick browser kinda.... I notice on certain sites the video freezes at some point while playing 8 out of 10 times. Doesn't at all on my gnex. So it works just not well with some sites not sure why.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Hi Nexus 7 owners....
I'd just like to share my personal experience on the issue...
I tried 3 browsers with the above version of flash.
1.dolphin hd
2.firefox beta
3. puffin
Now, for dolphin, it is fast, but if you try to press that little square icon that takes you to fullscreen mode, the browser crashed every single time at least for me.
As far as puffin is concerned, it was the worst because the videos were laggy and it didn't even respond to the fullscreen icon. (must admit though loading times on this thing, if you dont care about the flash issues, are blazing!!!)
Firefox although loads heavy pages by far the slowest, was the only one from the three that had no lag and the fullscreen icon worked!!! So, until now, thats my choice for flash vids.
What I did notice on all of them, was that the sound of the vids was pretty lower than usual. Anyone else witness this????
Oh, and another thing so there wont be misunderstandings...
There are other ways ofcourse to do the whole flash thing, MAYBE even for stock browser from what a friend tells me, BUT that requires rooting the device. (just for the record)
Many thanks to XDA and everyone else and please share your thoughts on the sound issue and also if you find a browser that does the job like firefox beta, but FASTER!
Do you guys try flashify in market? It uses is like this:
1.whenever you open the flash page with chrome
2.press share
3.choose flashify
4.choose another browser that got flash
It's easy so you no need to use firefox all the time because it's really slow

concerning firefox beta
Unfortunately, although I stated that firefox beta was the only browser that the fullscreen icon on flash video, worked without crashing, that is not the case anymore after the last update on Oct 11, 2012.
If anyone can post the apk of the previous version I would be oblidged.
Ps. Flashify does come in handy if one wants to keep chrome as deafault browser (which is advised) and simply switch to a flash capable browser like firefox without copy-paste but with a couple of clicks.

Ok, problem solved. Although I dont see many N7 owners too troubled with this issue, I did make a few more "test drives" and it seems like firefox beta version 16.0 is the one to go with. (Along with the rest of the steps pre-mentioned here, that goes without saying.)
Fullscreen works and generally it seems less laggy than any other. (concerning flash videos ofcourse.)
The apk can easily be located via google.
Download directly from the tablet, install it and.... happy flash and with fullscreen working fine!

For all fans of Dolphin browser ->
read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319529
Right now I'm using stock CM browser.
The AOSP browser by a long mile, IMHO... Sure, the other browsers (Dolphin, Opera, Maxthon) might have more options (lots of bells and whistles), but AOSP has the edge in terms of speed and smoothness.
For anybody not rooted or unwilling to flash a custom ROM, then Lightning Browser is the next best thing to the AOSP browser... (IMHO, of course).

Tried almost all browsers in market and my favorite browser is AOSP browser love that speed and flash support. But sometime using Chrome because of browser sync feature is really useful.
How do I get firefox to work with flash ?
I tried installing the archived android flash from adobe website and nothing ?
I've recently switched to AOSP browser, and I'm happy with it.
I used chrome before, but got annoyed by those popup bubbles when clicking links, because it ended up showing a bubble EVERY time I'd click something.
And also I can't stand their text scaling, most signatures on XDA were MASSIVE while actual posts were tiny.
I tried other browsers as well, every one had something that bugged me (like swiping from one side would bring up a menu or such...)
I still use Firefox occasionally when chrome or AOSP won't download something or for very rare flash.
