Was reading the Sholes dump thread and downloaded the Maps.apk (3.2) from there. When pushing the file, I got the error "No space left on device". I then deleted QuickOffice.apk and PDFViewer.apk, but still get the same error.
I no longer see Maps.apk listed under /system/app/ after the error, but my Google Maps application still works as normal. I can't figure why this is happening.
Something to do with dalvik-cache? I don't understand how dalvik-cache works.
Some more confusion as I'm trying this...
Pushed YouTube.apk, and same "No space left on device" error, but tried again and it went through.
Now, under /system/app, I still don't see Maps.apk, but now I have GoogleMaps.apk, as well as PDFViewer.apk which I deleted earlier.
uhhh....I'll be first to respond....IDK try googling it?????? probably has not been ported to work with g1 id assume?....assumptions are bad
this is why you dont mess with prerelease stuff lol...
are you pushing in recovery or while booted? try it in recovery
and jndd
asking someone to google something that isnt posted everywhere isnt very helpful.....
I'm not sure if this has been answered or not. I searched through the forums but didn't find anything about it. Can you change the boot screen on this version of the rom?
You just need to replace the "bootanimation.zip" package in /system/media
hmmm, i tried to do it with a root explorer. I may not of done it right, ill try it again
I used super manger, I realized at first that it wasnt using root permison. fixed that, coppied it there, reboot, and still didnt see the custom animation. any thing else im missing?
well i retried it, and copied to some /local directory and vala it worked! thanks guys
Trying to install Gingerbread I get a message saying Amazon MP3 is an incorrect file, because I removed it. Where can I get hold of this app to put back, tried downloading off the market but I get the same message...
Thanks.
Edit: Oops, sorry this is in the wrong forum, too many tabs open!
Just get it from the stock froyo ROM:
http://android.clients.google.com/p...01ae02c.signed-passion-ota-60505.766a101a.zip
com.amazon.mp3.apk is in there.
Or just use my attached file
You'll need to be root to push it back in to the /system/app/ dir
Thanks, that looks perfect.
I cant seem to put it into the right folder though, even though i have root.
File manager apps let me see root folders but not move files there?
Edit: It's now updating fine, must have been a file name conflict as it worked after getting rid of the market's Amazon app.
I did the same thing.. I rooted via superoneclick and pretty much left everything alone but i did remove Amazon mp3.
I have replaced the com.amazon.mp3.apk file back in the /system/app folder but I still get the Status 7 error when I try and flash the GB update. I have verified it is there and is in the app drawer and cannot be removed by the application manager.
Any suggestions?
I was messing around with the root files when I deleted the CameraApp.odex file by accident. Now the stock camera app disappeared from the menu, and I am unable to get it back anyhow. My CameraApp.apk is still the stocked one, but I can't back the .odex file. Can anyone help by extracting the CameraApp.odex file from their root folders and uploading it?
Thanks so much in advance, this is killing me :crying:

The CameraApp.apk > http://www.4shared.com/android/qWylbCjC/CameraApp.html

After replace the CameraApp.apk you need to install it like any other app. Just click and let the phone install, cause if you uninstall yours to make it works only like that, or doing factory reset and the system will install the app, but there is no need for a factory reset...
Good luck
When I copied the files to my root, the camera crashed when I opened it. However, it worked when I installed the apk directly from my sd. Guess im unable to get it to work as a system file anymore, unless I do a factory reset, which I am pretty much unwilling to do. Thanks anyway!

I told you to install normally the Camera.apk.
after install and reboot, search and see if you don't have the file in your root...
The .odex you'll probably need to paste, not sure...
Edit... sorry, I said after replace on the other reply... anyway, hope it helps.

So I tried for quite some time today to get this solution to work only to find myself completely unable to rename or delete the liboemcrypto.so file. I am rooted and running the stock vzw 6.0 rom but I can't figure this out. Tried a couple different root file managers and nothing worked. Some would tell me the rename/delete failed, others would act like it worked and then the file would still be there unchanged. Any suggestions? I assume I'm missing something simple...
