My Barebone on Froyo works like magic. And since 2.3 has even better 3D performance, I think it'll work better on the x1 once it has proper drivers and stuff.

i think it's going to be 3.5 because i doubt they would skip from 3.0 (honeycomb) to 4.0 right away

any idea when ics is gonna be released? i called the customer support in india and he said he has no clue wat so ever because they arent much interested in our cell..,!:-(

i have read an article that said they wil release ICS at the end of this year.
but i realy don't care, the dev's here are probably going to release ICS earlier and we have so much great custom roms here so i don't want to go back stock.

+1 and given that lg didn't do a very good job with gingerbread i think the best hopes we have are here by the members that are really trying to deliver a full working ics port.and i guess it would be even better than official half ported release from our beloved lg.

Indeed, but who needs official ICS when custom ICS would be much better..
And when LG releases their official ICS for the OB we probably won't have an OB anymore

Yep, its true, but im pretty sure we will get some ics roms based, i dont mean theme, i mean ICS based, so just wait

Just wait a little more (maybe 2-3 months) before getting a "stable" ICS rom ported by our amazing devs! The development progress of the rom is super quick! Yesterday it was just released and now it's already at alpha 4! At this rate ICS will be for very soon, definitely sooner than LG's ICS lol.

Be patient, keep test the rom, track the bug list, if you found new bug, report to the dev

I'm afraid not. You'll need to flash one of the TW-based Roms to get that.
CM9 has nothing of TW framework in it, so cannot support apps that need it.

See touchwiz s3 been ported to all device by modifying the apk..
Only issue with cm9 spen is the digitiser driver and people willing to modify the apk..

You can do it on your own if you want, but official CM9 will NEVER include
TW elements in its Roms.

true, but the cm team is doing another project called opendesign where they are building their own features which we see in TW and sense based roms.. bringing all those awesome features to cm9 soon

Testing the speakerphone from the new cm9 kernel by xplod , after the sources were released. that was super fast! if all ok, should be released a new build soon

I am pretty sure we will see some Custom Kernels and Roms pretty fast now based on those sources. But one thing still remains. Will the relased sources be able to fix the brick danger on ICS? I am very curious to see that.

I've already decided not to try anymore ics custom roms ( yeah i know that's not gonna effect you devs )
I really dont think that new ics based roms would get success..
devs may think out of the box. should try to do something unique

Yeah so thats where the inventiveness of the devs comes in..imagine a new android version.. no one's version would be considered wrong..

How about roms having a whole new layout, i mean people have started to get bored with the ics layouts and themes, everybody loves a change.

Honeycomb isn't likely because:
1. The sources in AOSP are untagged + unbranched
2. The sources are not complete
Windows 8 is far more unlikely because:
1. The sources were never released

Windows 8 looks almost exactly like WP7 and Honeycomb sounds good but I doubt anyone would be interested into making it as popular and good as ICS.

ICS is coming, it is confirmed and I have trust in LG, and I know because of the drivers we can then fix CM9 to have a completely stable and working ROM. But will this also mean that we can have a bug&issuefree JellyBean ROM? I hope so anyway.
