Just curious as to peoples addiction to android?
Myself now have owned 7 different androids phones. I have the inc2 and wife has commando. We each have tablets. Me the Asus slide and she has the prime. Sunday we bought the Sony Blueray Google TV.

Not yet. This Galaxy S2 is my first android phone coming from iPhone. Must say I love it though even convinced the wife to switch to the same phone from her iPhone
Maybe I would be addicted to android if I wasn't addicted to cocaine.

Rolling another green android as we speak.
I am definitely addicted to Android since discovering MIUI.us 2.2.3. Take the best features of IOS, add to it the best features of Android, throw in a liberal dose of nuance, style and flair and you have the perfect ROM.
I never thought i'd be saying this but it really is an order of magnitude better than Cyanogenmod. The infamous Android lag is all but gone! The N1 touchscreen wonks..gone! It's like i died and woke up in smartphone heaven. Most of the apps i used to use i don't need any more. Decent File Browser? Check. Decent Browser? Check. Decent SMS/Dialer/Alarm? Check!
What i don't need in a ROM are a hundred features that i have to turn off because i don't use them. What i do need in a ROM are core features that just work well. Consider me converted!
I seriously wouldn't trade my two year old phone for anything on the market right now, not even if it were free. Not a chance!
Wich phone you own?

Agree, and this is why MIUI has to port it to the Galaxy Note. I used MIUI on my Desire HD, and this is the one thing i miss the most. TouchPizz is a bloated resource hog that must die.

It depend on which touchwiz. Touchwiz 4 is actually optimized for the phone it is on. That's why it never lags. But touchwiz 3 is a complete different story.

Yeah you're right, but i just don't like it in the same way i don't like Sense. It's just too much
I'm hooked on IceCremeSandwich's with no-sense!
pure curiosity
first, i have the android phone, then switch to iOS then at now, android again feeling to be more comfy with android (though iOS still rocks on perf and display)
but guess, loving now android coz to put my dev-inside
MIUI.us is working out so well for me. I have apps that never worked well on CM7 that are working perfectly now. The famous N1 touchscreen wonk has disappeared completely, (which is a miracle in itself), and not only are the stock apps better than AOSP, (Gallery, you know i'm talking about you), but they're better than the usual replacements. (Sorry, Quickpic).
A big plus is a beautiful U.I that is consistent throughout the software and on par with IOS. It's like somebody read my mind and made a bespoke ROM for me! It's all the little touches too. The nice animations, the way the music fades out when you pause it, (not to mention Lyrics support and a pretty visualisation), options for re-ordering Bookmarks in the Browser, a good Notes app, in built backup for apps, system and theme. It's incredibly fast and smooth too. Without the OC i had in CM7 it actually performs better!
Pics for the uninitiated:
How about a stock Data usage app, or a Firewall:
How good is that?
I love my android phone...
Still my first (galaxy mini), but i hope my next one will be better...

What does everyone think? 4" may be the sweet spot between big screen size and too big. I don't know how I feel about even less physical buttons though as I already think it is the stupidest thing ever to not have dedicated send/end, but that is just me.
Not while they've skinned Android and replaced some Google integration with Yahoo integration.
No led flash? Are you f*cking kidding me?
I like the S-AMOLED and the proper multi-touch screen. However, having used the N1, I feel that it's just about as large a smartphone as I'd like to have in my pocket.
Not having to jump through as many hoops to get it customized, rooted, unlocked, etc. is also a nice thing about being on the N1.
Why would I want that when I have an N1?

Yeah I'm with you I'll wait for the new Nexus One every phone on T-Mobile that's made by HTC and only has stock Android is the phone Google uses for the next year. Thanks to Froyo the Nexus One has been the best Android phone until at least August when the Droid X gets 2.2 and gets a speed boost. Also you know that the Galaxy S will not get to use the free tethering that people with the Nexus enjoy. So to the original question NOPE

If I upgrade phones from my Nexus One its going to be for these features:
- Vanilla android
- 4.3' screen
- Can use the same $50/mo even more plus T-mobile voice + data
I'm more than happy to play the waiting game with my Nexus One until this phone comes out...
If the guys at Samsung weren't so cheap to cut corners and actually included an led flash I might have considered the GalaxyS... but I can't support such obvious penny pinching cost cutting by Samsung
I love its GPU power and the Super-AMOLED, but for me to go from the N1 I need :

HTC are usually more high quallity feeling. feel more durable then the cheap feeling easyy to break and brick galaxy. Aosp because its light. Has better things to do. More customizeable and user friendly.

I knew someone who bred them. You couldn't walk across his lawn without falling over one. They were enormous buggers though and would eat 20lbs of vegetables a night, before eating all the remaining grass and deposing the remains for cleaning up the next day.
True story!
I Like MIUI this is so cool
Samsung, with ASAP SOAP SOPA AOSP. I like HTC too, but they've become boring, and they're pumping out "new" models every single week.

Bah, I don't get all the "iPhonish" complaints about MIUI. How many people even use the stock launcher on the default Rom, let alone custom Roms like CM or MIUI? Cry me a river =p
Anyway, MIUI has been far more consistently stable for me than any other Rom I've tried, and this is especially true on Galnet. Theming is simple and I find it very easy to customize status bar, framework, etc. Also love the ease of customization of notifications and LED settings. Works perfectly with my overclock and V6 settings. Yep, I'm a MIUI fanboy just like many in here already are clearly CM7 lovas.
The gauntlet has been tossed at your feet, gentlemen!

I love 'em both. MIUI looks good, it has some very good built-in apps(music, dialer, messagaing and what not) etc., but CM has way better performance.
I'd say CyanogenMod anyway. My phone has a crappy processor and a crappy GPU, so I need a rom with good performance...
Not sure... Both are based on CM (you noobs), so the perfomance is great on both ROM's. I don't like the MIUI launcher but i like the rest, like the notification bar, the settings menus and so on.

QFT. I've seen many change their tune once they've actually ran a stable build, and for more than an hour, at that. MIUI has a lot of great built in control and features, and the easy - yet extensive - theming is a huge bonus.
Either way, I'm all AOSP. In the end, that's what I see being the main thing. Always been a big CM fan, though. Love me some options.

The guy clearly runs a full blown android 4.2.2 MIUI rom on his GNex, which is pretty exciting, cuz a port to our device shouldn't be that difficult at this point. Or is it...?
Well, thought I had to share this. Let's keep our fingers crossed...

OP, if you look at the MIUI forums, they have launched beta builds for Gnex and believe me there are a lot of bugs now. Once, it passes onto stable, someone or I might port it for mako.
Miui is always lagging way far behind Google on Android versions. And the version that they are on is usually very bug ridden. I like it but I hate dealing with major bugs, little bugs don't bother me to much.

But I agree, it is not as fast as a nice aosp/cm 10.1/AOKP ^^.

Looking forward trying it!
I've had it for two weeks now and I just don't get the hate. I mean it's no Galaxy S3 but the phone does it job, and well. People have complimented me a lot on how beautiful the phone looks, and especially the screen. Gaming is very good on this device, I can play games that I couldn't play on the Xperia Play (which was marketed as a gaming device) and it has a lot of great features. It has a inbuilt task manager which works really well, so I can't understand people complaining about the phone lagging. It hasn't lagged for me once and I'm using A LOT of heavy apps like Facebook, FB messenger, Whatsapp, Twitter, Viber, Instagram and Skype. And if the phone would lag you can just use the task manager and it kills the apps which a lot of other phones can't do well. When I read this forum section y'all scared me to dead and I honestly think some of you are a bit overdramatic about this phones performance. For a $200 phone, this is a great device. The only flaws are the battery life and the speaker. Multitasking is great, gaming is great, Browsing is smooth, camera is excellent and it's just does it job...
Is there something else I'm missing? How is this such a bad phone as some are claiming it to be?

Probably the biggest gripe with the phone is how hard HTC made it to dev for. The guys that can get stuff to work on JB ROMs are amazing. Getting sound to work is a real pain, data and WiFi are difficult to get working. It is totally cool if you leave it stock, although there is a lot of bloat (typical of all phones) and the "android is upgrading 4 of 120" gets very tedious. But I agree with you, the phone itself looks good, it has lots of nice features. I was happy with stock for the longest time, but ran into some really weird problems that have never happened to anyone else. Now I am S-Off and running a 4.2.2 (Jellybean) ROM and loving it.
Also this phones build quality is terrible. My power button is already broken and the volume buttons are losing their chrome
I'll say this about the phone - with a custom JB 4.2 ROM (like the unofficial AoCP ROM floating around) this thing is a beast. I mean that in a good way. It's fast ... 4G LTE speeds are phenomenal ... no lag that I can detect, no soft reboots (or hard reboots like with CM 10.2 on the Samsung Captivate, one of which I also have), the rear camera is adequate, and so far on mine all of the buttons still work. (It used to be my daughter's, then it sat in a drawer for more than six months because 4.0.4 ICS and Sense 3.6 didn't really seem to get along, but hey, it was cheap :silly.
AoCP's 6.2 (JB 4.3) for the Cappy is quite nice, and I wish it could be ported over to the Vivid. I like the animations for the information windows and menus, but on the Cappy it really began dragging. No such problems with the Vivid. Although it's an older phone, for me it represents an upgrade. Will I wind up getting another, newer phone in the future? Possibly. For now, though, I like the Vivid.
