Did anyone get their hands on the Android 4.0.4
http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/08/android-404-rom-leaks-for-galaxy-nexus-lte/
Can we expect better battery life and how long will it take for the first i9000 4.0.4 roms then?
Thanks
waiting eagerly..... for a better battery backup and smoothness through this 4.0.4

Battery life ofcourse I want it.
Only problem I find with the ICS rom is battery life. It's hardly alive for 4 hours with heavy usage ...
I get 12hours of heavy usage on cm9
Anyone wants 4.0.4 stock ??? Can port that. Tweet me if u want so @GoyalBhuvan
I do!

Me too! (10 char)
I found no problem with ICS 4.0.3, especially battery life.
Only problem I'm having in 4.0.3 is the super fast battery drain, other than that its pretty much stable. So I can't wait to see what 4.0.4 brings to us.

Bhuvan why donot you port it

What is better to go for? Galnet MIUI or the official one?
Thx.

official MIUI i think
Galnet is more tweaked and themed. Not much of an difference.
I like galnets better. More themes and tweaks.
I used to prefer the Galnet version, but there's too much going on now and since it split from the MCG versions I've had way more issues (from clean installs) than with the MIUI.us build, which just seems more stable. Ideally Galnet would be working with the Chinese devs, but this doesn't seem possible. As a result, the ROM feels increasingly like there are being changes tacked on. It has improved immeasurably over time, and a lot of fixes have actually come from Galnet himself, but for a daily ROM, it's a little too bleeding edge for me now.
Currently on stock, odexed JVQ and to be honest, the Samsung software has got so much better I might stick with this for my battery and sanity! Until the flash bug comes again!
My vote goes for galnet, because it is a very stable rom would be also my all day rom if there wasn't the battery drain.
Galnet Miui is good but consumes battery heavily.
Official MiUi. But both suffer from heavy battery drain which makes it impossible to use it for day to day use.

Even i want to know which one is better? Commonsense says Galnet should be better since it is over and top of what is provided by MIUI. The commonsense was defied in some of the earlier release.
Bigger is Issue the MIUI vs Samsung ROM - MIUI User Interface vs Samsung ROM Stability, Speed & Battery.
Flasholics Paradox!
Thx for all the answers. You guys make me want to go for last Samsung ROM with ANDROiD 2.3.4 I'm actually on CyanogenMod nightlies.

I've mostly used Stock, DarkyROM and MIUI.
Never had battery life better than I've had with Galnet (well GingerReal was pretty close) and overall I am very happy with Galnet.
That being said, Darky is a very nice product and a very nice community of people at the boards. The releases are pretty steady and the past versions allow for some better selection in actual working versions than some other ROMs.
go for Galnet MIUI.. Much more features, Nicer looking, Battery life has been FIXED no more battery drain.
Galnet is better than official. IMO

Well, I fancy a good speedy stock rom, I like browsing a lot, text, twitter and facebook, and a bit of gaming.....not so worried about looks.....but.... whats the pro and cons of either...... If I remember right, froyo used to have an amazing battery.... help
Gingerbread roxxx in
Speed and performance. Dunno bout battery but i guess that gb has better battery also.
from XDA app
Press THANKS if I helped
U can try stockbased roms

Gingerbread in general is very good in speed and performance, especially the latest 2.3.6. About the battery it may be true that it last less than Froyo cause Ginger uses it more for better performance I guess.
i need rom with Best battery life for India ?? specially for data
currently i am on gingerbread
There are no ROMs that work differently in different countries. Update you GB to ICS and even stock ROM has good battery life.
There ate quite a few threads on how you can monitor locks and improve battery. I can't search right now but will post something later.
4.0.4 ICS stock has good battery life

I really love JB, but battery drain on every one i tested is unacceptable (i.e. 30% loss or more overnight). On gb with THE SAME modem - 2%.
In result i always go back to GB immidiately, even if I hate it.
The only good rom besides GB i've had was some old Slim ICS version... Was lasting long as GB.
So, does anyone can point me to the JB rom with no crazy battery drain?
I've even bought new original samsung battery (1650mah), but still with my usage phone lasts half day.

adjust cpu governors .... u have to try every ROM available.... at least one of the ROM will give better battery life.....
@up
it's not that. idle killing battery isn't governor related
well, MesoROM is great gb rom, but ffs, android 2.3 is so ugly and feels like an awkward beta version... damn

I am on Slimbean JB Beta 1, and when it is in standby ( without wifi or 3G ) the battery drain is very low, less than 1% in 6 hours.
But as for Slimbean or any other JB roms I tried, the battery drain very fast when I use the 3G.

i'll try mentioned above. slim bean based on 3.1 was one of the worse in terms of battery though

I'm on CM 10.1 and battery drain is acceptable (about 1.5 days) with quite heavy usage. But it's only possible with:
* network switched to 2G only most of a day
* Google backup and restore disabled (using TB only)
* location services switched off or at least with GPS disabled
* WiFi turned off when not at home (using lama to do automate it).
Try these if you do not need them on all the time and see if your battery lasts longer.

Hi, I would like ask community for rom which is mainly fast and saves battery. Tried to look for something like that here at xda but almost every rom promises to be fast and have long batter life so its quite hard to choose something reliable. I dont want anything fancy, I just need long lasting phone with some performance. Thank you for you answers!
Try The last myth or Sgs2 JB v11.1
SGSII v11 is GREAT !
try StockLite ROM
Like the guys above me i would recommend:
theSGS II rom, it is fast with great battery life that will last at least all day.
The added bonus is you run android 4.2.2 (i know you dont want anything fancy but its still nice)
Stocklite, this rom also has great battery life and runs like a dream on our ace
This is (as the name suggests) a stock rom that runs 2.3.6 and looks almost identical to the stock.
The only thing i would stay away from is cyanogen roms, they seem to use a lot of battery very quickly.
Hope this helps

Hi SaM245!
The SGS II rom has Samsung Galaxy SII JB look but is based on android 2.3.6.
Be happy.
You can also try Maclaw's ICS ROM(RC3) which is super smooth and has good battery life. There's also a JB ROM which has just come out.
