i have had my HD7 since 4/15/2011
It has worked absolutely flawlessly since then. Smooth, fast.. Just perfect.
a couple of weeks ago i flashed to my first custom rom (insintric rom) and about two days later I flashed to Next Gen rom. The phone worked pretty great for about two weeks after that then all of a sudden the phone started randomly freezing up. it would remain responsive on what it was doing. ( a contacts info i could scroll left and right ) but I would be unable to leave that screen. the display would stay on , the power button would be unresponsive and the touch buttons at the bottom would vibrate but not take me anywhere. again I could still interact with the window I had open.
this happened mostly when trying to go to a contacts page and clicking the phone number to make a call.
then the phone started locking up when receiving calls (doesn’t do it every time maybe 3 - 4 out of 10 )
if i used the power button to turn off the phone about 5 - 6 times out of 10 the screen says goodbye but never changes after that.
I went back to the original T-Mobile stock rom (very first one) and upgraded all the way thru and though it seems SLIGHTLY better still happens quite often keep in mind this phone worked flawlessly for almost a year without a single problem
here’s what I’ve tried
Master reset (about/reset phone)
Master Reset(hold keys during boot)
goldcard reflash to original tmous rom
after reflash to original too all the updates
reflash to other custom roms
formatted sd card and reinserted
Replaced SD Card
nothing seems to help
sometimes the phone will reboot but usually whatever screen the phone "locks up on" can usually still be interacted with.. Random buttons will not work sometimes I can’t get to the wifi setting. Sometimes htc hub won’t work. Sometimes it won’t go to email.. You can see it "push" on the screen but it won’t go to them. but I can go other places.
Anyone have any ideas or have had a similar problem?
i am currently using the stock tomus rom updated thru zune to mango

I, have Siemens SX66 GSM ( PH20B) Upgraded to wron version and now it boot with colored horizontel straps (red, green, blue, white) and goes to WM 5, with slow to none functions and also lost radio.
Now I, tried with several WM5 versions and it display error message ( Model ID error 100) Can some one help how to remove / clean it and recomend working WM5.
See some post at the bottom of this topic
If you you have lost the Radio, ie, no version number is displayed on cold booting/hard re-set, then all is lost.
As i had the same problem with a phone I was given to fix.
As most/all of the Upgrade programs Check to see what Radio version the phone already has, and if it cant see one it fails
My only course of action was to get the Phone fixed under warenty
Read all about it here
Hope.......
Mine did the same thing, it was sooooo slow that I was thinking about buying a new unit but at the last breath I did the following and it worked:
- Go to the BootLoader screen (Press: Power Switch+Media Player+Recorder+Rest) all at the same time, your PDA should say “Serial” at the top of the screen.
- Plug you PDA to the cradle and it should read “USB” at the top of the screen.
- Use At least TuMa 1.3 with Radio 1.13.
Note:
The upgrade EXE should load up with a picture of the PD at the left side of the screen that DOES NOT look like your SX66…it looks like an HP PDA…!!!
Mine came back to life but sometimes you might have to SOFT reboot your PDA to get the Radio to work (Hard boot then use a third party software to softreboot).
Good luck.
so using the MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP and radio rom only you were unsuccessful at flashing?

I, went through all upgrades without issue but now PDA is so slow it takes ages to change selections..
have you downgraded back to 03se and still have this issue?
You will have to follow the steps very accurately...if you leave any step out you might end up like me at the beginning when my device was sooooo slow it was useless.
I took these steps from this forum...try it
Best Luck…
Thanks for all help did every thing but still some of menu are so slow that take several minutes to open , still looking for some tips and suggestions or if some one one knows how to turn it back to W2003
I, remoed some of programs from my SX66 that seems to be causing problems and were npt compatible with and got my PDA back...its now working awsome...Thanks for all who helped
Hi,
I am struggling with my phone for about a month. At First there was a problem with the bootloader. It showed three color display ( which went away on it's own.
+ the battery lasts for 1 day. NOW when people try to call me they get a message that i am unavailable ( the same response as if the phone was turned off ). When i restart the phone it helps. I am running a small business and cannot affort to loose clients when they try to call me. What should i do? Reinstall the system? I went throught posts and didn't find similar problem. Is it time to get a different model?

Models have nothing to do with it -
This is your phone pure and simple.
If it is new and you purchased it from a dealer - take it back to the dealer - they should replace it or fix it free.
You do not say anything about the phone:
1. who is your carrier?
2. what ROM is on it?
3. is it new?
4. what radio do you have?
5. have you tried to install anything on it?
All this information is not trivial.
Bill
thanks for the reply,
The phone was purchased about year ago from ebay and originally was from att, so there is no warranty left. I unlocked the phone on my own using this forum, installed different keyboard ( pcm keyboard )and the main screen (htc home customizer),but this was long time ago. I have not installed anything else since then.
Here's what i have:
1. I am using this phone in Poland, Europe ( but don't get me wrong it was working fine for about 6 months - since i moved here, so it's not a matter of carrier )
2. ROM - 1.57.502.1
3. RADIO - 1.27.12.11
What i also noticed is that when a 3g icon pops up the reception goes down to zero and that's where the problem lies, i think. Any suggestions?
Hi,
Coupls of weeks back i I HardSPL my device with 3.28 and installed the RUU_Kaiser_HTC_HK_WWE_3.34.721.2_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.70.19.09 and since then it was working fine but today i downloaded the SKYFIRE thru WiFi and installed it though it installed correctly and after one hour my my Phone turned off automatically and when i realised that i tried to turn it on but nothing happend initially i thought that may be the battery runs out. So when i reached home and the moment i attached my phone with charger ; the orange light turned on automatically, phone vibrates and smart mobility screen appears BUT after that it start reapeating that again and again.
So after several attempts; i start reading the forum and as advised by seniors - I enter into boot loader ( successfully ) attached my phone with a PC and reflashed my phone again with RUU 3.34 and the whole flashing process completed successfully and when " Finish " button appears on my Laptop and the moment i clicked on it the Phone Vibrates ( like restarting ) smart mobility appears and thats it.... same problem....
And the moment i unplug my device from charger it even refuse to turn it on even. Presently i am using an extended battery of 2800 mah which i purchased it from UK last december but Currently i am in Canada and using Fido connection.
So now would any body tells me that its a
Battery Problem or
Hardware problem or
Software problem
Please help me out since i am out of home with a limited budget and don't want to spend on a new phone in foreign land ( canada ) and BY-GOD Canada is way too expensive - in Canada they even charge it for incoming calls and messages as well :-((( .... i was always under the impression that UK is expensive but now i realised that i was wrong...
Thanks for reading this and looking forward for a solution
Try flashing with a different ROM, probably a stock/shipped one..
Regards,
Carty..
Many thanks for the quick reply ; but can i use a stock rom on 3.28 HardSPL ?
In a word Yes. but if you have trouble connecting to the pc (as I did) flash a ROM using the SD card
Thanks to all the replies and i think its a battery problem.... now i have to buy a battery in Canada at double the amount which is easily available in UK at only 8 pounds... and in Canada its available not less than 30 CAD $...
Does anybody from Canada know a place from where i can buy a tytn-ii battery at reasonable price... specially in toronto since i am a tourist i prefer a shop a address...
Thanks
I have the same sort of problem as you...
I unlocked my phone via one of the methods on here, which was performed successfully, even managed to update my HardSPL, however since unlocking, my phone reboots, or shuts off.
It started happening when a text message was received on the ROM i was using, however since then I've flashed the same Rom as you, the HTC standard from from Zel's FAQ, along with now reflashing the Orange UK Stock rom (as per Sig) onto my phone.
The phone got as far as formatting the storage, then went to allow me to setup, and rebooted, allowed me to start the setup for the phone, then rebooted.
However, something has happened which I've never seen before.
Once it rebooted, the phone booted into Flight Only Mode, then has told me that my battery needs replacing (so am bidding on one from the illustrious Ebay).
Any ideas what could've happened? Would the original unlocking cause the phone to F*** up? Even though the whole process worked with no flaws / switching off etc at all?
Max, I'm in the UK, and if need be, i'll happily find one on ebay also and ship to you from here?
I used to have random reboots on Nexus One, but after updating to Froyo 2.2 (before the official release), I had noticed the random reboots to get more (like 2-3 a day), but now the phone is totally useless, it does reboot constantly, and when it's connected to Power, it reboots couple of times, then gets stack at the Nexus logo.
I have put the stock firmware back, EPE54B, and it even detected 2.2 and Google pushed me the official release and still no go (yes, I did clear cache, etc)
I loaded up the log program and checked the logs after a reboot to see if it was some sort of kernel panic or something, but it does not show anything per say.
I even tried w/o SIM or w/o memory card and the results were not conclusive, it worked for some time, then started rebooting on its own. Sometimes I notice the phone is very hot, which makes me think that it might be faulty hardware (ram, etc)
Has anyone seen such an occurence, would HTC repair the device now the bootloader is unlocked or is this just a thin paper weight ? I think I read someplace that they still honor hardware repair...
Thanks,
Houman
Mine reboot when it overheats during charging. There are several overheating threads u should check out.
Sent from my Nexus One
Just be honest

From what I hear, if your honest and tell google that you unlocked your bootloader they will still repair your device, I don't know about replacing it if it can't be repaired. But before you go that route try troubleshooting. Make sure you have the correct radio, not all roms come with the correct radio. Non-compatible kernals can become a issue to, if you flashed a custom kernal. I get the bootloop problem if I flash a rom without wiping, which I never do, except when the instructions say no wipe required, and then I get the bootloop issue. So try a full wipe, data, dalvik & cache, ext, and then reflash your rom.
I had random reboots up the wazoo. My phone was unlocked/rooted/running FRF93. I downgraded to other versions of Froyo and even went back to 2.1/CM and it was still rebooting.
Turns out that HTC actually puts it through a reasonable testing procedure to determine if it was in fact the user that damaged the phone. So even if it is unlocked/rooted and the phone passes the test, you will get your repair free of charge just like me. I'm currently waiting for them to ship my phone back.
Although I have heard horror stories from HTC, so I really think it depends on the moon cycle...
Like a poster above said, BE HONEST. Let them know the truth that it's rooted/unlocked but currently running a standard ROM. If they give you the standard "if it's rooted, you're going to have to pay", tell them that you're heard of their testing procedure to determine if it's the user's fault. Go to a supervisor if you have to.
Hi,
Thank you all for the responses... so I decided to leave the battery out completely for one day, then put the battery in the phone, and I did quickly use the phone to wipe it as well as wiped the storage clean... so the phone should be back to regular day 1 status other than boot loader being unlocked. I guess by putting the PASSIMG.zip which has EPE54B files, I forgot, and it also flashed over the ramon recovery as well.
Then I turned off the phone but connected it to the charger and let it charge completely, this morning I turned on the phone and it has been on w/o reboots.
So this points to either heat, radio (wireless, 3g) -- it does not have a sim in it currently, but the good news is that it's not rebooting. I think I'll play with wireless first, then add 3g then we'll see where it takes me, but if it comes to returning it to HTC/Google, I'll be honest of course.
This has by the way:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband: 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7
Kernel 2.6.32.9-27227-g3c98b0d
Build FRF91

Any updates? I have a similar issue
Yeah I basically think it's heat related and unrelated to the firmware, RAM, etc.... I had the phone at a very cool place and it works perfectly, and when I started using it, as it got hot, it started rebooting, and I noticed the back of the phone was very hot.
So I think nxt was right #2 in this thread.

The above observation would seem to make sense. My phone would reboot while trying to watch youtube videos sometimes, but ALWAYS within a few minutes of using it on the mains...
I have since had it sent back to HTC to have the phone repaired. I had rooted my phone just to get 2.2 however as it was a genuine hardware issue they replaced the main board and now not only does the phone not reboot anymore, the issues I had with no 3G (only Edge) have disappeared too. Happy

Hi
So I got my phone back from htc, they basically fixed it and even locked the bootloader so all is well
Just FYI

Hi guys!
Since I upgraded to the latest release of Oreo 8.1.0.120 (C432) (branded H3G) the phone keeps crashing !!!!
Virtually all of a sudden the screen is divided into 2 vertically, a completely black part and a slightly lighter one with the time indicated.
The phone can not be unlocked in any way, either with the power button or fingerprints.
He receives phone calls (the accept and reject buttons are vertical) but nothing else.
Tried to do soft reset several times (deleted cache and system reboot), 1 time also hard reset: sometimes it restarts and returns to normal, sometimes it remains exactly locked as before.
Screen resolution modes is fixed to fhd + .....
I thought it was a bug on the reactivation from a bluetooth device (the speakerphone of the car) because the first time he did it when I turned off the machine and the device was obviously connected, but instead he did it on other occasions not attributable to that.
Face recognition doesn't work too (I'm not able to recognize and save the face).
I got the phone as soon as it came out, and it never had any kind of problem .......
Called huawei support and they told me to send him for assistance, called H3G and ditto, I asked if they had news of this bug but it is the first time .....:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Use funkyhuaewei or if you have TWRP installed reflash stock fw that should fix
Hi! Thank you for the help but I have no TWRP and I've seen that for funkyHuawei the minimum credit is about 40€!!!!!! Is there another procedure to reinstall the firmware??????
