I also would like to know. I have an app Network Signal Info that tells me the signal is good, I think. It says 83% dbm 85. I have no bars at all however. Why would that be?

google maps and phone lock

Hello again
I was using google map.to check my posotion while driving and i find it pretty retarded that the phone still locks and screen switches off as usual.
I mean when u are using this app for direction it should prevent the phone from going to sleep mode
Any advice on how to have this feature?
If you use navigation then it won't auto off.

On iphone , anytime you open the map app it never lets ur phone goes to sleep, regardless of if you're using navigation or not.
I moved from iphone last week and I thought I would ask if this was possible on Android. Whats the harm in that ?
Thanks for nothing
My screen never turns off during Google Nav. Is your phone plugged in during this time?
When on battery the screen will dim to conserve battery life, and when plugged in its always on. At least for me, on any rom I have ever used.

yeah navigator is equivalent of car app. In android google maps is not, which is why different funct.

In other words, if your using Google Maps it will turn the screen off after the user's preset display settings. If you use Google Navigation the screen will stay on.
Hope that helps a bit.

So apparently you don't understand that:
The SDK isn't finished and Google is slow about it (Android Studio is still alpha quality).
There are more content providers on the way
That people who buy Android/ChromeOS devices that come to XDA do spend money on what you refer to as vague assurances (hence XDA exists).
So I really don't think it is me who does not understand here. Feel free to be a negative Nancy to drive away future Chromecast owners (or even current ones) due to your lack of understanding the issue though.

Tablet Talk with Galaxy Gear

Just wondering who has used this for their gear to send text messages?
I know how to side load apps and I have a working keyboard already. Just simply need to know how well it works.
Would love to send text messages without having to use voice from the gear.

Failed_No_Certificate
Hey all! How are you getting Tablet Talk on your Gear? I used Wondershare to backup the app from my phone, and tried to install it on Gear. Wondershare saved the export as a zip so I tried renaming it. Everything looked good when I did, but when I tried to install the APK on my Gear, there was a Failed_No_Certificate error.. TIA
Update: When I backed up from another phone, everything worked fine.. My Note 3 does is not working with Wondershare very well..
The last time I reinstalled I had the same issue. I changed both to wifi and back and then it connected.

Go to "setup" into Gear's TabletTalk and change device type to "tablet".
Hope it helps
During setup it won't allow me to scroll to see the phone for connect. How in the hell do you get down to select?
does anyone know how to get the names to display?
Still hoping someone figures out an issue on how to select your phone when pairing the latest version. Can't scroll down to see your phone. Someone suggested using older version of it I can't for the life of me find a clean older version to even try. If anyone has info on how to get this rolling it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Normally I'd agree with your point, but here I think this thread has value - if perhaps for only a limited time. I've been reading the other thread religiously, but it -- like many threads lately, has become (understandably) heavily involved with operation on "L". It also branches off on many (valid) tangents on the subject - which is absolutely the point of the thread. However, easily lost in all that is this one simple tip that seems to resolve the one key, basic problem for those of us on KK who have the update & who are otherwise fully compliant and increasingly frustrated -- this gets it to work. So, for the sake of clarity & simplicity, I feel this is a perfectly reasonable & extremely valuable topic for the week or two... or three in which some number of us will be endlessly checking to see if we've finally had the feature flipped on. At the very least, the clarity of the thread title alerts members that some of us may actually need to "Force" it to work.
In other cases I'm not nearly so keen on breaking down subjects to such a granular level.

Go take a nap NaterTots, you're apparently grumpy. Despite what he wrote in the first post, this is a very helpful thread. The other thread didn't even have this solution, and goes about installing various APKs to get it working. In this case, you type 3 words into the app and it now works. Hugely nice.

That I kinda doubt. There was great flexibility in 4.4, but an early update (either KK or Search, can't recall which) cut us back to just OK Google. I suppose they wanted to limit chances of accidental triggers. With hotword everywhere I'd think they have even more of an incentive to keep this limitation in place. Ah well, it's no big deal but I can't help felling just a bit goofy reciting that script. :silly:
Nope no dice :crying:

Lousy 'trick' will only work on after the device is actually enabled. As to country-centred that's why I expected it to still work on UK English. I had only changed to US English out of frustration as I was waiting & waiting for the feature to kick in. I'm not actually in the UK, but I do prefer her speaking voice.
This kind of messed up my voice search. It recognized "ok google" to open up the search but nothing else. I had to delete Search data to get it working properly again. =\

mine are. but its not country centered, and even read it'll work on 9 languages so far. but for me, the trick didn't work. probably because google didn't enable my account yet.

I wouldn't trust this. The image is a 1x1 jpg. Most likely a virus in my opinion.
What's the point in this post?
Send a moderator after this, there is not even information about any oroject here

Seems fine to me. The link is for a screen shot of his phone on a respectable site. There are no issues with this link. And has been posted above the issue is quite openly stated. He has a problem with a game.... Any useful suggestions would be welcome.
His wording did not suggest any issues on my mind.
Hopefully someone will be by shortly to assist.
Will probably need someone that has game to verify. Gonna be hard to find someone willing to pay $10 to test it.
