[Q] Headphone Volume - LG Revolution

When I plug my Revo into a suround sound unit at a party the volume is much lower than everybody else's phone. Even with the external sound unit all the way up, the sound is not loud enough to be hear easily. Have looked for apps but none seem to support the revo, does anybody have an app that works with this phone?

Welcome to the pain in the ass that is our phone.
Audio pro
Volume+
Playerpro
Its a hardware issue really. You can play with anyone of these a bit and see what happens.

I personally listen to music quite a bit and I use volume+ to equalize the different music and it seems to work very well when I plug it on to my headphones or a sound system

I use volume+ also. Works great. Haven't tried the other ones.

+1 for volume+!

looking for DX volume/sound hack and equalizer

i know a lot of people were having issues with their speakers and notifications. ive never had that problem, however i do have issues with the in-call volume on my headphones.
is there a way at all to adjust the volume output on the DX? ive seen DSPmanager for other stuff along with the louder volume hack for other stuff, but nothing for the DX. as it is right now, if im driving any significant speed i cannot even use my headphones to talk on the phone as i cant hear anything. when using the phone itself its still very low but at least useable.
im also still looking for a global equalizer. the stock "presets" for sound are horrible at best to me and id prefer to have something i can adjust globally. i know mixzing along with a couple other media players incorporate an equalizer, but id really like something across the board if possible.
Interested in this as well. The sound and volume is sooooo poor it's a shame.
For such a powerhouse...one would think the device would have 1/2 way decent sound
Agreed. I'm really missing Audiobooster right now, as well as the volume tweaks available for my old TP2.
check out the last page here volume HACK for a true volume "hack"
Yeah that's a bit too desperate for my taste...
yeah im not looking for that kind of modding yet. its also not the issue ive got.
my speaker is fine but the outputs are for some reason being cut when i use pandora/music/youtube versus phone call volume. music is fine for me. im usually 1-3 steps below max volume depending on the music, but even when the phone call volume is at full volume it sounds like it's 1/2 as loud as it needs to be.
btw im using the older style earphones to do this. they actually somewhat work with droidshuffle or beyondpod pausing/playing and as a mic for calls.

[Q] Low volume when using headphones on Galaxy Tab

Hi all - has anyone else had issues with the volume when using a headset being way too low? I've tried the headset that come bundled, as well as my iPhone earbuds as well as 3 other pairs and they all sound substantially lower in volume than on my iPhone or Samsung Wave. I've made sure that the media/system/etc volume(s) are all at 100%, yet I can hardly hear a movie play back when on the train but have no issues when using my iPhone, Wave, or even sandisk clip mp3 player...
thoughts?
I had this issue and it drove me crazy. Then I realized that I had to push the headphone jack in harder to go all the way in. Once I did that, the volume was outstanding. I had to push harder than I expected.
I also noticed lower max headphone volume when compared against a similar product. Hopefully a patch will take care of this. I'm using a BT motorola s9.

I noticed that too actually - at first I realized I could push it in more ever so slightly (more effort to do so than I would've' thought), but unfortunately that didn't change anything :-\

ah, so you're having the issue w/a bluetooth headset too? I've just been able to try wired headsets/phones
Same issue here, fully plugged in.
Most noticable in-call with CSipSimple.
Anyone not having this issue?
I had a similar issue with volume set to max. I realized that if you reduce the volume and then increase it again up to max everything is fine.

Volume too low
I have the same problem. I spoke with Samsung support and was told that they know of no way to increase the volume.
Go figure...
Anyone figure this out yet? Or is the Tab too new to receive enough attention?
Simply go to settings, equalizer, custom, set all frequencies to max... enjoy the extra volume

Actually, you click the volume up to the max, then click down two clicks. Many modems have this bug.
Hi guys, I need help about this issue. Samsung stock headphones are well set into the hole and i can hear during a phone call but it is really really low. And no matter if you push it down strongly it just doesn't improve. It is a bit better with media. Tried some Sony Ericsson phones, a bit better bust still very low. Mic works fine in both cases. Help me please, because I can't make decent phone calls.
Anybody having this issue? I am stuck with headphones. They work almost fine when watching media content. The volume during a phone call is almost impossible to hear even with no background noise.I have tried different headphones but it's not helping. I still have to make a test using bluetooth. Is it a hardware issue or a software issue? I have a stock rom (Model: GT-P1000, FW: 2.2, BB: P1000XXJK5, Build: FROYO.XWJJ7). Do you think I can solve the issue upgrading to Gingerbread?
Voodoo Control
Hi everybody!
Did you try the market app 'Voodoo Control'? Nice one to maximise volume, but this requires a custom kernel implementing voodoo patches, I assume.
I had this problem too, but with the newest version of the Overcome ROM on gingerbread voodoo control is built into the kernel which allows you to increase the maximum volume of headphone output by using the voodoo control app.
Hope this helps!

You are mainly saying that the only way to use my tab as a phone is by installing a custom ROM? Upgrading to 2.3 stock ROM would not fix the issue I assume.

Most probably its a software error. Try wiping cache partition.
Go to theinforoom blog there is a solution there.

[Q]-Sound question and camera question

I'm running xron cm7 on my touchpad. I've noticed a few things about sounds that I wonder if it's just a fact of life or something that's fixable. 1-I can't seem to get sound to come from the headphone jack. If I plug something in, sound stops from the speakers but nothing comes out via the jack. 2-If I have an app that plays sounds even with the screen off, it gets this kind of high pitched squeal/feedback. This is happening with music apps and the AmbiSci sound apps. Are both of these facts of life on a touchpad running Android?
Do any ROMS currently allow the front facing camera to work?

Camera still does not work.
To get sound on earphones, plug them in before starting the app you want to listen to. That works for me.
The distorted sounds have been reported by many, I guess I'm lucky, I don't have that problem.

Thanks Chicle I'll try that out. Maybe it's a rom thing for the distorted sound. Which one are you using?

I'm using Cherry Kang, with kupdate kernel. Oc to 1.7 max and 384 min.
Sometimes I use the unofficial cyanogenmod nightlies, when cherry has not been updated for a while.
Unfortunately, the distorted sound has been reported on a bunch of different roms.
I use the nightlies, and before that Alpha2, and haven't had a problem with sound - I watch stuff with MXPlayer, listen to Spotify, and everything, with and without headphones, no problems at all. Currently on the 20120402 nightly, still working great for sound.
As for Camera, well, we gotta wait for HP to release the sources for it, unfortunately. It's not something that's fixable until then. If you need a camera, you gotta use WebOS.
Earphone trick worked great. The sound thing is odd. I didn't get the scratchy sounds when I would plug the headphones in, turn on the AmbiSci app, pull up a sound and then turn off the screen. If I do the same with just the speakers running though, scratchy sounds. Makes me think it could be more hardware related than software.
Well . . this is even weirder. I have the volume down a little low. If I raise up the volume, I hit a part where the squeal starts. That seems strange.

Call volume too low?

Hi, I just got my Nexus 6 that I purchased from eBay, everything is ok but the call volume, while it's pretty clear, I think it's too low compared to other phones, I'm not sure if I'm crazy or someone else has noticed that? I tried the speakers for music and they are loud, again, it might just me, but I wanted to double check if someone has noticed that, and if it's something normal for this phone, thanks!

Try this.
1. Make sure the system volume is all the way up as well as the phone earpiece volume.
Get an app the controls all volumes and you'll see it there along with media , alarm etc.
This happened to me but once i raised system and phone it was fine.
Also note that you must practice placing ear in perfect earpiece speaker position lol.
Let me know if it worked that was my problem.

Ditto. My phone volume way too low for in call - either with built-in earpiece or a wired headset.
Nothing I've found brings it up.
Speakers for media/notification is very good&loud, but speaker for in-call (using as a true speakerphone, not trying to use speakerphone mode as earpiece) and ringing is inadequate.

Believe that with update to 5.01 that is going to fix the problem, hope so, I believe that I read it somewhere. I really want to know what are all the fixes for the new version 5.01
BTW, I have Volume Ace download it from play store and see if you got all volume up
Good luck !

Extremely low headphone volume

This phone has the absolute worst headphone output. It is SO low. Plugging the device into my car through an auxiliary port is horrible. I can't believe Samsung makes the headphone output so incredibly low on a flagship device. How can they get away with this? It's almost half of the iPhone 5S?
Care to explain a little more in detail? Why 'slow'? Do you mean the sound quality coming through the headphone jack of the headphone jack itself?
I am simply referring to the fact that when you plug in a pair of headphones the output volume is extremely low, compared to the HTC M9, or iPhone. I have tried several headphones and even plugged a pair into a demo unit at best buy. Turn up the volume all the way and it's simply not loud enough. Plug the same pair of headphones into an iPhone or HTC One M9 and the volume output is much louder. I do not understand how Samsung can get away with making the volume so loud. Defeats the purpose of having the phone play music.
Now I have used many many Galaxy smartphones, and while I have complained of this issue before, the S6 by far as the absolute lowest volume. Wouldn't be an issue if a volume mod could be flashed. But we need the boot loader unlocked first.
That's weird, maybe since it's a demo unit, my gs6 gets uncomfortably loud and it's almost on pair with my ipad.

To each their own with sound, I guess. It was enough for me to return the phone.
So this can't just be bothering me.
Once you plug it in, make sure to turn the volume up on the phone. By default, the headphone jack is set very low so you dont blow the external speakers.
Also, try a headset and see if its still low for you. If it is, then its a bad port... if it isnt, then something is up with your aux port or car unit.

I have tried many headphones. It gets loud, but nothing like the iPhone. Very difficult to hear your music in the gym. Samsung should not make the headphone volume this low. It's beyond frustrating for us audiophiles. FWIW, I don't think my phone is defective, I just think its me. Either way, I returned it.

I can understand where you're coming from. I was quite frustrated at first until I started playing with the equalizer and adapt sound. Now it's much better. I've plugged my headphones into the iPhone and while it does get louder it also gets more distoreted.
Have you gone into settings / sounds / sound quality and effects.
The tinkered around with the SoundAlive+ & Tube Amp? Also try using adapt sound to really tailor your sound.
Maybe one of those needs to be enabled to increase the output of the volume, not sure..
There's a post in general secton to increase the volume of the phone. It requires root tbough so be aware.

Dude seriously,, Thank you. I thought i have started having issues with my hearing. The output is so low that when in the subway, there is no way for me to hear my music. Only when i rotate the earpeace in an unusuall position, i am able to hear what i am actually listening to. The worst thing is that it seems to be recognized by u and me only... I don't know what to do and i for sure don't want an iphone..
Yep, ridiculously low volume output from the headphone jack. Compared to an LG G4 on the same speaker set to the same volume level, the S6 output is almost inaudible over background noise in the kitchen. Only way to get any usably loud audio from it is Bluetooth, which has its own set of problems with this phone.
Yes the sound from ear phones is too low. With my previous I9070 my ears used to bleed at 3 with Poweramp but now ven with the Volume turned upto 5 I can barely hear them..!

Well, i had same problem but when i did the adapt sound tune, i did it at home without surrounding noises and heard all the beeps.. I redid it while on the train and heard aboit 30 % of the beeps and now i have a loud volume also disablwd the effects..
My headphones were also not working well. I thought to try some other brands. I searched alot but all were very expensive. Then my gym trainer suggested me to look for SoundMAGIC. I got affordable audiophile headphones online at exclussive offer. The sound is fantastic. I am very happy with it now.
