[Help] Flashing Rom over ext4 - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I've converted my i9000 to ext4 and used it for a couple days...
Today I've tried to flash a new rom and forgot that it was on ext4. No i can't install any rom. I can only enter download mode. Any help how can I flash a stock or other rom?
Thanks!

You can flash 2.3.6 jvu value pack and then go from there.
I've done it a few times and it worked.
Google it or go to droidangles

ODIN method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785201
If ODIN gives you butterflies in the belly, you can try the alternative "SAFE" method via
update.zip http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821698
Enjoy! ...& Happy Flashing
Note: if you are already bricked and you did not apply the Fix before hand, then your only alternative is to send the phone out for repair, or you can make your own JIG cable to unbrick you phone via ODIN following this guide:

[Q] My phone is unflashable?

Hello guys.
Im trying to flash TalonDev kernel and im running XXJVH firmware (from kies).
Using 1.30 Odin and i am sure that KiesPDLR.exe and KiesTrayAgent.exe is closed.
Odin shows that phone is added and when im trying to flash it hangs at SetupConnection..
So im pulling the battery entering download mode and trying again but same problem.. im now stuck at this screen:

}
If anyone is able to help me i will gladly donate you a pizza
try a different usb port and if still it doesnt work , get a new cable.. that symbol generally indicates connectivity issues..
PS: RIGHT CLICK ON ODIN AND RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR..
I have tried different usb ports and running Odin as administrator, i am thinking about using another version of Odin, which one is to recommend?
Any other ideas?
Do you have the proper USB drivers installed? Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956
Are you flashing the kernel as PDA? Also, try using Odin3 v1.82: http://www.mediafire.com/?mp3dj37882a4a0z
use odin 1.82

[Q] Question on the "upgrade bootloader" on Odin

I wanna downgrade to Froyo as i cant seem to conect to any Wifi network at all. currently on 2.3.4 GB XXJVQ
I have tried every god damn step out there, include a full factory reset+forget netwrk+keeping netwrk open etc
Would i actually need to tick the upgrade bootloader option? Some posts say yes and som say you will get a bootloop
the older fones havea way of making Eclair/Froyo work on GB bootloaders
Can som1 point me in the rite Direction, ?
I lost wifi, when i flashed both Speedmod n CF root by mistake
u can flash jvq again without 'update bootloader'
download Odin3_v1.82
1. select 512pit file in pit
2. select code.tar for pda
3. select modem.tar for phone
4. select csc.tar for csc
it should look exactly like below:

Help!!!

Hi guys, today I tried to root my friend's captivate...apparently I'm not supposed to use Odin on that and got impatient and pulled the USB when Odin got stuck on one of the first steps...attached is what my friend's phone looks like now.

I'm trying to use Odin now to flash I897UCKH3_I897UCKH3_I897UCKH3_HOME.tar
because apparently my phone is still in download mode and can take it. Now Odin just gives me another screenshot..
That screen is fine. KK4 is the official ginger bread. I'd download the .tar file put it in the PDA slot and let it flash. FYI all you need to do for root is flash a kernel with CWM baked in I believe.
Follow this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989 it's a one-click that will restore your phone from the "phone ! PC" screen.

Please, do you have a link? one on samsfirm is broken (
:| I'll try flashing KK4 first
THANKS GUYS!!!!
Erm, how do I flash the kernel with CWM?

With Odin. Still goes in the PDA slot.

[Q] P1000 Bricked - Stock FW + .pit not working

Nevermind, flashed CM10 and it's working. It'll have to do.
My friend has a P1000 and he tried to install CWM by fashing it with Odin. The file he used can be found here -> http://www.mediafire.com/?q8s0wnj1s6109gc and I think it was meant for GB ROMs and he was running Froyo 2.2
Since then it boots up with some graphical artifacts on the screen and then gets stuck at the Samsung logo. Could not boot into recovery.
I tried the unbricking guide in the sticky by flashing the stock firmware (2.3.5, cant find 2.2) + pit file from the sticky but it now just gets stuck at the Samsung logo and it flickers every couple of seconds, I can now enter recovery however. The graphical corruption at startup is no longer present too.
Running out of ideas on how to unbrick the device :/
Some guides suggest a firmware from Overcome but the links I find are dead.
In recovery I get this error

He did not disconnect it from pc
