I'm am one lucky mofo. I hard bricked my p925g the other day and I was still in my 30 days so they gave me a new phone on the spot no questions asked so I've learn to stay away from cm7 tell its more stable for this phone. Thanks to all the help of Dark the other night trying to fix my phone when I get payed ill make sure I hook you up with a couple bucks for your time and effort.
Wow. That replacement was fast!
Ya in store replacement they just gave me a brand new phone and sent the other one off as DOA IMIA it was funny watching the Rep do all the tests I tryd last night and today and none of them work then she had a strange look on her face like why don't it work and I had to smile on the inside I know why lol
Ya I. Store replacement they just gave me a brand new one with 2.3.5 v20c on it already
Oh snap. You better get that V20C off it pronto. xD
If V20B is rootable, I'm starting a ROM with it today.
Is that the at&t gingerbread update??
Nope. It's just some random firmware.
I don't even know what it is yet. Hopefully it's something I can root.
Ya and stable with no ghosting must be a leaked fw
Lol the store reps wanted to try flashing, so they flashed leaked ones.
That'd be hilariously awesome!
ya for sure

I am here to rant, sorry! I downloaded the ota update for 2.3.4 pushed from Google to my STOCK nexus One. Phone had been running perfectly. After the update, battery life was shortened. Then, the phone kept resetting the date to 1980, a time I don't really need to revisit, big hair, etc...After a couples of resets, kept doing the same thing. Next day, phone wouldn't turn on at all! I took it in for repair & the MB is fried, won't turn on. Bought it in Jan 2010 when 1st released from Google Web store, so the HTC warranty is expired (1 yr), TMO says they don't send the updates, & Google, "who you gonna call there"? This selling model didn't work & we all know it. No one wants to take responsibility,& I'm screwed. If I had rooted & rommed, then I'd understand, but an ota update to a stock phone?? I loved my N1 & am so upset. I won't buy another one from Ebay because my issue with the handset was it had limited internal phone storage for loading apps.
So, now what? I want a dual-core phone & I just resigned on TMO (no comments on this, I know!). Want the Galaxy S2 but TMO won't get it. Like the G2X but seems kind of heavy. Do we like the Sensation? Hercules is to be 4.5 in not sure but think that may be too big. Suggestions please?

Not a bad idea. Seeing this come from your N1 makes me want to cry, all the good times we had!!!
The LG G2x has received rave reviews. Cyanogen purchased one for him to mod on, and he loves it. The HTC Sensation is an amazing phone as far as the specs are concerned. It has more ram than the G2x has (768 vs 512), and it has a higher res display. But it does have a locked bootloader which may make it difficult for modding. But if that isn't your plan, then it should be a great phone.
Thanks for the input, decisions....
Hey everyone, I bought the LG in August. So far I love this phone. I have previously owned the Droid Eris, had that rooted and running all different kinds of Roms. I also previously owned the Droid 1 after they warranty replaced the Eris after 3 tries.
Now onto the next items, I have been lurking this site for quite a while now, I like what I am seeing with this phone, I am still debating whether or not to root this phone with the downgrade and rooting that way or just waiting a while longer and see if that rumor is true that the phone will see GB possibly next month. According to the tech at Verizon that I talked to the other day it should drop once the Revo2 comes out.
Welcome! in my opinion it's definitely worth downgrading to get root on this phone especially since you've already rooted other devices. Nobody really knows how long it's going to take them to release GB for the Revo so it could be a long wait. Our devs have put together some very solid, fast and stable roms. To get the most out of your phone, rooting is absolutely worth considering and you can always unroot when GB finally drops if that's what you're into...
VS910 4G [Revolt 1.4]
The rumor I heard about a month ago was that the LG Rep had told the Verizon store, during a visit, that they wre skipping 2.3 and going to a higher release. Not sure if that's true, so I would go with rooting for now if you want to play with things because if that rumor is true, it might be a few months before that ever happens. But, then again, Portland Oregon wasn't supposed to have 4G yet and we've had it for a while now.

Hadn't heard that. That would be nice.
After more looking I think when I get of work tonight I just might root. As long as the radio still is good around here with V4.
I talked with a rep from LG today. Here is what she said in reference to future updates for the Thrill....
"michelle: As far as I can tell you according to what I have here, they are working on those updates. But, there's no ETA, or any information yet. They only state that they are working on it."
So maybe they will give us updates? Any opinions? I am stuck in a contract until April with this phone and I am hating it. I don't want to void the warranty in case I can get it replaced with something else but I can't stand the GB update. I constantly have 8-9 system apps running that can't be killed and it overworks the processor causing overheating issues...my phone gets HOT!
root and install Prometheus. I'm in the same boat, stuck till April. I hated my phone. Went through warranty exchanges in hopes that they would give me a different phone. Probably could have gotten something different had I pushed hard enough with Customer Service but the truth is now I'm loving my phone, rooted with Prometheus installed. Now I'm playing Final Fantasy 3 in 3D. In fact come April I'll be getting 2 iPhone 5's for my wife and dad and I'll stick with this till I find something else I might want.
P.S. even my previous phone was rooted and had custom rom. I simply restored it stock when I did the exchange. Root and Rom couldn't be easier. Check it out.

It might actually start looking up for Motorola seeing as how Google bought them.

I dont know if im blind, but ive been searching xda and google for over a month now.
I cant take it anymore, if i cant fix this im going to sell this phone and im never buying a Samsung product ever. Im going to try plain Google devices which get updates as soon as they are released and get fixed just as fast from what ive read.
Let me get this right Samsung..... you offer us an "update" to 4.3 and lock us out so we cant downgrade back after you totally ****ed it.... are you ****ing serious.
Im carrying around 2 batteries now just so i can get a full days work done, the back cover is work as **** and barely holding on. Please has anyone figured out what is causing this issue, what do i need to do to fix it!
Please someone help....

for the record i dont have a solution per se, i ran into the same issue it seems. after updating i just figured it was a simple matter or reflashing the previous firmware until i heard about this EFS stuff.
I backed up my files and bit the bullet of rooting and wiping and flashing the previous firmware taking me back to 4.1.2 and everything was fine. Of course I lost what I couldnt save or back like app data but I had a usable phone once more.
I suggest either rooting and trying a new rom or going back to 4.1.2 stock firmware. Doing so you will face the issue of the flash counter going up and causing minor issues until you reset it with Triangle Away but it will get you back to a better functioning phone.
I personally use Omnirom now with the Boeffla Kernel (Omnirom CM11.0 kernel - Stable: 2.1 build) and get decent battery.
Not quite stock android as in use it drinks power quickly but it has an amazing standby life which seems to balance things out.
Hope that helps.
I'm my case I never had the courage to risk my phone with rooting until I got Samsung update of 4.3. Now im working with a customs ROM. Not settled on anyone. But will not go back to 4.3 definitely

rather than buying a spare battery and changing it so often, get a powerbank instead.
I saw on an Italian forum (androidworld.it) a thread really fun and special.
practically everyone was telling a story divertende spent with a few friends.
this is an example: long ago a friend of mine bought a galaxy ace, did nothing but talk about how it was "powerful" and fast. Once I asked him why he had not bought a galaxy if he said "That ca * ata? do not even have the processor!" a few months after they stole him and took a replacement for galaxy w. One day he told me he did not like, which was slow etc.etc. then, seeing my old modded Vodafone Smart, asked me how I did and so I talked to him a little bit of root, overclock, and more. Two days later comes back with 'I'm w galaxy where he had installed go launcher and a theme to nokia, the beautiful thing is that then I said, "I have labored hours to change the operating system, I put one of my old nokia. While doing transfer system I almost risked twice to break it ... "At that moment I did not know whether to laugh in his face or jump out the nearest window.
Another time a friend of mine came up to me all happy and told me "I bought the smartphone, the new advertising there." However I wanted to spare me tell you that there is no difference between a smartphone and a lg tribe
Oh, and in any case I think the best average users are over 45 and parents (trollface96);

Ahahahah epic
today i had a stupid moment of myself. i received a HTC M8x(asian variant) to root it for a friend. I did everything and proceeded to flash a custom kernel. when it finished the screen went black. holding power button did nothing and connecting to charger didnt budge it. for 30mins i was panicking and trying to revive it. so i tried turning it on after 30mins so i pressed the power button to see id it does anything.... and it turned on and it was still in recovery. the lock feature from TWRP made a fool of me, thinking that i bricked it lol.

A couple weeks ago I was fixing a cracked screen on my friends phone. I had to drive quite far to get the part and when I had just replaced the screen and started replacing all the other components (the screen is under everything), I managed to pinch a ribbon cable and rip it off. This was only a few hours before I wanted to surprise him with the fixed phone. I ended up going in rush hour traffic to a closer more expensive shop to get another replacement and fixing the phone with only a few minutes before I had to go meet my friend. Overall he was happy I fixed it but I don't think he'll ever know how much trouble it was to do.
