Hey guys,
I'm having a few issues regarding the boot process of my phone.
First my Galaxy S was in a boot loop. When I tried to flash a new kernel (Galaxian) using ODIN it stuck in the mount screen ("Galaxian kernel is now loading").
Now I want to flash a stock firmware with CSC etc. using ODIN- but I need to find out my Build nr. in order to get the right stock firmware version!
Please help me guys
Thanks, I appreciate all the help I got using this forum!

Hi someone!
Please help!!!! I've flashed the sephamore kernel, but now it gets hanged, basically my phone has never been rooted nor flashed before. Today is the first time im doing it and it hangs i really need someone to help!
Please help someone!!!!
I've used Odin put it under PDA as set, but after flashing (I get the green light on odin and pass) it just hangs on boot!!!!
I'm able to achieve download mode!
Did you flash the right kernel for your firmware? What version was the rom?
If it was wrong, either a) Flash an appropriate kernel for the firmware, or b) Flash a complete firmware w/ kernel (Either a stock or custom firmware will work)
Option b should be a guaranteed way to get your phone working again.
Guys,
i really need help....someone......please
I have the galaxy s i9000
It is on stock 2.1 update 1
i have rooted it....but the sad part is that it is the model that came with the bootloader locked....
I have, however, found a way to solve that.....
My question is:
I could unlock the bootloader..using the 3-button fix...which involves installing a tar file of the secondary bootloader using odin....
Then, i thought i can download the zip file for cwm for my device...and flash it using the recovery....
How can i do that??
Is it a viable option?
And lastly, can i install cm 7 on stock 2.1
If not, please please please help me out....it is really urgent...
Someone....please!!
Cheers
I think that you have to flash a JVU with Odin and get a CFROOT kernel. If you begin to this you should be able to flash other roms.
hi all,
i have flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820578 on my device and it works good.
but today i try to flash the stock firmware on my device, when finished the device reboot and i have the error: can't mount dbdata.
now the device can't boot (it loops at the samsung logo)
i use odin to flash the stock firmware following the instruction on samfirmware.
i've already flash some roms on my device in past but this is the first time i have this type of problem.
can someone help me?
thanks
Try to re-flash your stock GB Rom. If it doesn't help, here is a link which you can follow. I always use this link as a guide when going back to GB before re-flashing my desired Rom.

Hello everyone.
I have a problem which I hope you'll be willing and able to help with.
I wanted to try out CyanogenMod 10 on my Galaxy S I9000. I was on 2.3.3 so I used Odin to update to 2.3.6 (rooted). Then I installed superuser and mod manager, after which I installed Clockwork. I then used Clockwork to install CM 10. It worked flawlessly and this was my first time flashing ever.
However, I didn;t like CM 10 and decided to revert back to Gingerbread. I read it was as easy as simply using Odin to flash 2.3.6 again. I tried that but got stuck into a bootloop displaying the S sign over and over and over again. I tried downloading the PIT file which made Odin check Repartition by default and flashing like that but it didn't help, I'm still stuck in bootloop. I can access download mode without a problem but I'm stuck in bootloop forever.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Update: I found a thread detailing how to get back to Froyo so I tried it. I used a PIT file, PDA file, PHONE file and CSC file all separately and it worked. Now I'll just have to update back to 2.3.6 No idea why I was only able to revert back to Froyo and not Gingerbread, but it worked, thread can be closed.
Hey,
Bit of a late answer, but so you can refer to it if you ever go back to custom roms.
When you come back to stock from CM10, or any custom rom for that matter, you need to flash in a file named dbsdata.rfs.tar. Fixes the bootloops (custom roms and stock have different data partitions so incompatibilities in data partition cause bootloops like yours)

Hi,
I've searched around and did not find the answer, this is truly frustrating,
I have this Galaxy S1 phone that had Froyo 2.2 stock rom from Orange Israel.
I downloaded a random CF-ROOT, and Odin, and without checking the Baseband, I used it on the phone.
It began with a Boot Loop, so i tried a different CF-ROOT, and now it's stuck on Boot Image.
I cannot check the baseband because it doesn't boot, can't check which stock firmware I need.
what can i do?
Thanks to all helpers!!
- edit: I meant Galaxy S1 !!!
If you can get into download mode, you won't have any problems. The only thing is that you have an incompatible kernel with your firmware - just flash any stock firmware (2.2 or 2.3) to fix it.
