[Motoblur 2.3.6] MMS - Help is needed - Motorola Droid 3

after flashing Willis111's

it's possible to receive mms's but NOT to send?!?
the APN, and apns-conf.xml, Both are correct

I've got the same problem with other rom (on cm7 with my droid 1), and my solution is to download on market go sms and configure manually the apn in the options of go sms....

[Q] accessing services menu with cm6.1

Hello can anyone tell me how I access the "##" menus if running CM6.1? I have changed my phone number and directed by sprint to press ##254543# and should have gotten a service menu. I am sure it has to do with CM6.1.
Any workaround, or do I have to load up a stock rom to get my number changed in the device?
Thanks for your help!

## codes are part of the HTC framework and so they ONLY work on sense or stock roms. If you want/need that functionality you have to flash a sense rom. None of the AOSP based roms will do this (including CM).

[Q] Serendipity VII - Adobe Flash Player issues

I don't generally ask questions, because I can usually find the answer between this site and a few others out there, but this one has me stumped with no amount of googling seeming to bring back the answers - and I would greatly appreciate some help.
I recently upgraded my captivate to Serendipity VII and it works great, no complaints about anything other than when I attempt to surf on a few sites that have flash videos (have confirmed with Skyfire, Miren, and Dolphin - all updated via the market to latest/greatest after restoring from Mybackup Root), I get a green downward arrow and when I click on it, I get the blue lego/cube with question marks and no video. I have to use whatever mobile-video option the browsers have at that point or download the video (I used to be able to watch them in the browser).
I checked out my version of Adobe Flash and it shows to be a System App (when I go into manage Applications from the settings menu, I can't see it in the "Downloaded" tab, I have to go into the "All" tab) and its version is 10.3.185.22. I can't uninstall, upgrade, or install over it with the market (it won't let me do anything to it - it just shows "Open", but its Greyed out).
Now with Firefly (which I was on right before Serendipity VII), Serendipity 5 (I think - its been a while), and whatever ROM I was on before that, I was able to see flash videos with no problem, so I'm not sure what's different about Serendipity VII (other than this is the first Gingerbread ROM I've used).
Don't know what to do, but it doesn't seem to be a super-common problem (at least that anyone is talking about), so any help is appreciated.
Here's what my *Settings*About Phone* info says:
Model number
SGH-I897
Firmware version
2.3.3
Baseband version
I9000TUBJV6
Kernel version
2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVH-CL184813
Serendipity_VII#3.0
TueJun7 23:28:24 PDT 2011
Build number
Serendipity VII Build 2
Thanks in advance,

Does the fact you have Kernel 3.0 vs. 4.0 have anything to do with it? Check the site to see the details of v 4.0.

Well, I suppose it could be, but I used only the files and instructions from their website's download section, located here:
http://serendipity7.weebly.com/download.html
Which contained only the files I used (including the kernel), unless I missed something.
Wait - just looked at their Kernel section and found Kernel 4.0 - downloaded, flashed with clockwork mod (didn't wipe any cache - should I have?), and the same issue remains.
I see that they have 4.1 here on the XDA thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107894
I guess I can update to 4.1, but it doesn't indicate anything about Adobe flash at all.
Thanks for the input though man, I didn't even think to check for updated kernels.
So I updated to Kernel 4.1 and wiped Dalvik cache and the cache partition (from recovery), and no change.
Remove it through Titanium Backup, then reinstall it from the Market. Then go into ur Web Browser Settings under Enable Plug-ins and select "Always On".
U should be good to go after this.

[Q] teamhacksung's ICS build 8

I've flashed my sgs to ics build 8. why GO SMS Pro can't find the name of person from contact? but built-in messaging can show the person's name. then in contact, there's no multi-select menu. so, to delete many contacts, I must delete it one by one. and I use asisten APN to add my provider's APN, but it failed to add. I hope all of this can be fixed in build 9

The GO SMS contacts problem was not a bug in the ROM, but the App's compatibility issue in Android 4.0
But you'll find its been fixed in the latest update!
Try GO SMS now, its all back to normal!

I've checked and already in go sms pro v4.01.but I'm now in stock rom XXJVX. I loved to use MIUI rom. but since I flashed the ICS, when I try restore the backup,it become bootloop. that's why I'm now in stock rom
SMS's contact = GO SMS Pro v4.01
Editable contact = GO Contact EX
Maybe that 2 apps will be good for that build

Droid 3 ICS Build Prop Issues

I have tried for days to get ICS working on my phone. I am using the Chinese radio and everything is working fine on GB.
When I update to ICS it says baseband unknown
Updating the Build prop from default 4 to 3 does nothing.
On Gummy it just stalls and won't boot up.
Using the zips for GSM fix and RWAILY's Modified build in safestrap aborts the Installation. Updating the xt883 radio aborts installation
Why is my phone being such a douchebag.
Try using rick#2's xt860 patch
Sent from my XT860 running ICS using xda premium
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560519 here you can find the build prop for ICS just replace it with root explorer and you should be good.
Sent from my XT862 using XDA
Thanks but they still don't work.
The GSM fix will not flash in safestrap. When I take the build prop and replace it manually, the splash screen hangs
Anytime the build prop is tweaked, I run into problems in ICS. GB is fine though.

hi
try to make a comparison between a stock GB build.prop vs the modified one for chinesse.
with that info update manually the build prop in ics.
because if you simply put the GB buildprop on ICS ICS will die
if that works can you post which changes you noted
I'm experiencing the same thing. But in my case I also get baseband unknown is GB (verizon gb without radio). Still looking for solution
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA
This should work for AOKP at least. It did for me.
nikeusfr said:
For gsm user, this is solution and all works well :
install safestrap
format data, cache and system
install aokp and gapps
reboot without sim card in the phone
edit build.prop with rootexplorer or other :
# Default network type.
# 7 => Global Phone (4 => CDMA).
ro.telephony.default_network=3 (instead of 7 or 4)
# BEGIN Moto,IKDROIDPRO-430, a17673
# Feature33857 on DroidWE, support DualMode switch, UMTS/CDMA
ro.mot.FTR.33857=false (instead of true)
# END IKDROIDPRO-430
# BEGIN Moto, IKSTABLETWO-1284, nfjb73
# without this property, the lock screen would take global phone as UMTS
# block user to operate before setup
keyguard.no_require_sim =false (instead of true)
# End Moto
save build.prop after this change
new step, enter *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer. Then goto "Phone Information". Near the bottom of that screen there's a drop down of network preference. For GSM-ONLY use GSM (PRL). Exit that screen and reboot the phone.
shut off phone, insert your sim card and boot the phone.....
thanks to hashcode and all over.

I've done everything. I still get the same results.
When i enter *#*#4636#*#*
I go into phone information
I try to change it from unknown to GSM and it won't do it.
Phone is a big D Bag.
EDIT: Thank you for trying though.
Can you recommend any GB roms? I had Mav and it was pretty good

I am using Mavrom 3.5 and my provider is AT&T. 3G DATA is working so nice and i like this rom but i am thinking to move to ICS.
But if DATA connection is not working with GSM providers, i will stick with Maverick rom.

Yes, fully working 2g data connection with tmobile, wouldnt have ics on my phone without it. 3g would only work with at&t though, since the droid3's hardware doesnt support tmobiles 3g band.
Also, dunno if this helps, but i dont use *#*#4636#*#* to setup, i go into the mobile network settings, and scan for a network operator, connects just fine.

Hash should add that **** onto his post. I'm seeing a ton of requests for this very thing.
I think your problem is not with the build.prop. Its with the radio that you have before flashing. In my case i have the stock verizon rom with the chinese radio and when i flash to ICS i have the same problem. No signal, unkown imei, etc.
You have to flash the original verizon radio(XT862) and then flash to ICS.

But cm9 doesn't touch the radio... I flashed cm9 from stock when I had the chinese radio installed on stock, so I dunno, no problems here.
Of course after I flashed I went to settings, wireless and networks, more, mobile networks, and then network operators, then I selected tmobile, problem solved. This was after modifying the build.prop, and flashing cm9.
I see no reason to flash the stock radio when the chinese is needed for tmobile/at&t, and cm9 doesn't touch it.

In my case if i flash to CM9 from stock+chinese radio i have the problems that i mention(unkown imei, baseband, no signal, etc). If i flash to CM9 from stock+stock radio that problems dissapear.
I bought a used Droid 3 XT862 which was running 5.7.905 firmware and i went back to 5.6.890 (Kernel and bootloader remained intact as expected). Then i rooted the phone and flashed the chinese radio. I installed CM9 and then i used the buid.prop from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23884104&postcount=1368
I couldn't flash this zip file through safestrap (at least no go for my occasion) so pushed it to /system by using root explorer.
I rebooted the phone and i had 3G data connection working just fine. My provider is AT&T.

[Q] How can I restore the wifi settings backup from ICS, into Gingerbread?

I backup the wifi settings (such as known SSID and password) from ICS rom via Titanium Backup.
But when I flashed the GB rom, then restore the wifi settings with Ti-Backup, it said successful though, I found the wifi couldn't work. The phone was keeping search the SSID, then failed, then turn off the wifi, then turn on, then search failed. It just keep doing that, and never found single one SSID.
I think maybe the data from ICS cannot use in GB, but is there any solution I can reuse the wifi data from ICS to GB?
THX for help.

The code base for the kernel is different between GB and ICS, so I would expect that wifi settings would not be compatible between a GB ROM and an ICS ROM.
Since most of the ICS ROMs are using an ASOP based kernel, you didn't mention what kind of GB ROM you were trying to restore to. If it is a HTC Sense based ROM, then I would not expect the wifi settings to be compatible at all. If you are using say CM7.x, then them possibility of compatibility might be a better.

I have tried both ASOP based rom, like MIUI, and SENSE3.5 rom, it's the same problem...
I am wondering IF there's any other backup software, could transfer the data between ICS and GB...so far I didn't find one.

Is that so I have no idea. Thx for helping.
But this feature must be add with ICS, how can I sync the ICS settings in the GB rom?
Looks like no tool can do this right now. And even then, it wouldn't carry any static IP settings over.
Titanium Backup may be able to do all of this soon: backup/restore Wi-Fi access points in a fully portable way, through XML, including PSK/WEP keys, plus static IP and proxy settings. Stay tuned
