[Q]ICS CM9 V16 with Baseband version i9000XJVU - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed CM9 Version 16 with the Semaphore ICS 0.8.1 kernel. Its running good but i noticed that my baseband version is still on i9000XXJVU. Is this a problem?
Is this making a impact on my performance? Can i fix it so i'm running on the baseband of ICS?

Baseband version is the modem / phone that you use whichever you prefer to use whatever modem and you adjust to your country ...
to download modem-CM7-miui and cm9 brought it ..

Buddy, just don't go behind those numbers!!
in-fact you just try em all!!
i can say "i love Semaphore v1.7.0"...the best kernel with the out of package best tweaks and scripts inbuilt+you can get OC and the most basic and best part is it has been patched with CF-root tweaks, rather than just a simple modified kernel like darky's!! I used Darky's ROM v10.2.2 EE +Dark core v2.9 still it has got many bugs and tweaks not present..!!
So, that's why i would like to say "just try em all" !!

After finish flashing. i found that the 3G network is not working....but the sim card is work. i can make a call or receive call ( that mean 2G is work), The icon of the signal near the battery , it show "H" but it did not have upload and download.
here are some informations of my phone:
Android version : 2.3.4
Baseband version: 1035.21_20110218
ril: v20s Europe
did i miss something or i do something wrong:crying::crying:
please help me
It seems, that you have an pretty old Baseband ("1035.21_20110218" which might be good for CM), but DM is stock-based.
If you flashed DM 1.2 the V20q baseband (0725) is recommended, because its based on V20q.
IIRC the 1.3 and 1.5 RC versions are based on V20s, so the V20s baseband would be recommended.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
You can find out if your baseband and RIL are matching with the GetRIL app.
See fore more info the Complete Baseband overview thread

Mate,
until DM 1.3RC2 it was still the v20q sources and only the 1.5 series are all V20S sources....but u usually find the related RILs in the Aroma installer...Q,S,C RILs are part of the 1.5 series.
but the best way is to use GetRIL or LG RIL app to change your RIL to suit the BB
