steps
Take you phone in hand
open skype and log in when logged in click on the menu button which is the next button from back key
click on it go to settings then click on enable video call .
there is no option in setting "enable Video Calling".. what i do?

I often dial using the default touch screen keypad on my Tilt but it's really bad; it lags heavily between presses and if I go too quickly it iwll lose the intermettent presses. Any known solution?

Which skin? I'm using what it came with.
Same problem here to. I saw the same problem with the hermes. Very anoing when u use a phone service that u have to enter serveral digits(code, bank accont etc)
Its probably not fixable
just disable the sound when clicking a button. This helps for me.

I have a full mute device , only cant find the sound settings for those buttons in the dialer , pretty annoing

hello, couple of things, at the top right is a search button, type in video dialers, i did and came up with serveral, search is very friendly,
also look in the sticky see "FAQ", scroll down to P1 Tater downloads, in there you will find "cabs" and in there you will find dialers.

Try install this cab,soft reset and make a video call,if still didn't works, then unistall that cab,soft reset and try it again to make a video call

I have been myself on the search for a video dialer with smart dialing for quite some time now. This is how I did it: first applied the combo from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2638255 (thanks zard) and then applied the Opal Diamond Dialer skin by bluemetalaxe (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405764). BTW, I'm using Hyperdragon III Pro myself (great ROM BTW, fast & stable).
You can install all three cabs without doing a soft reset in between. After the installation, set HKLM/Software/HTC/PHONE/SmartDialingOnOff to 1, soft reset, and there you go. Only downside: phone skin defaults to HTC default dialer in landscape mode, but you can still make video calls (I guess, because we don't have 3G around here yet you just see a blank video call icon but still can tap it).

Can someone tell me, which function has a Start recording item under the right menu in Phone application? I see this on my Diamond2 with official 1.39.479.1 ROM, but when I try to click on it (during active phone call), than this button don´t do anything.

I think it's for recording voice notes after the call.

You can! I just did it. During a call you go to the notes section of the contact and there will be a red recording button at the bottom. The only downside is that it is not attached to the contact, but is placed in "My documents" and "calls". I wish it would be easily accessible under the specific contact's notes.
I tried this but it only records my side of the conversation (was using headphones - if that makes any difference). I also saw the greyed-out 'record call' button on the right menu. It would be AWESOME to get this working!
Yes, it is possible to record conversations, with both incoming and your own voice!!!!
Some guys found a way to patch the Registry so you can record conversations 2-ways.

I have installed the 2_Way_Plus_InCall_Recording cab from the last link and installed Resco Audio Recorder, it perfectly records all my conversations automaticly!!!
Without Resco Audio Recorder or other extra software you can also record manually by pressing the record option in the dialer menu.
The files will be saved in mydocuments/notes

The device won't turn itself off anymore after 1 minute.

No, here it still works, but sometimes my phone changes settings by itself, so maybe it has been changed by itself?
No need to play with the registry, the call needs to "connect" for the grayed out "start reording" is able to be pressed, mine records both ways and it ends after the call ends.

You need to install a Video dialer, not all 3G dialers are video capable.

If you are stuck with Skype, go into Applications manager (Settings), find Skype and clear defaults
