Sorry if this has been asked before, but I see there is a Message App on my ATT Tab, I'm on the ATT network and just tried to send a message to my cell phone, it shows it went on the Tab, but I didn't get the message on the cell.
Do I need anything to make it work?
If you don't have a messaging plan it'll cost you every time you text.

You need the app on both devices. Your cell phone needs to be on and connected to the internet, then the message app uses the internet to sync with your tablet so you can send texts from your tablet using your cell number. No texting charges apply, just data.
To clarify this is the att messages app, and not the native message app on the tablet.

I've been having issues loading pagegs with the XDA-Developers app when I use it via wifi. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't. I'll get an error message that states "no route to host". If I open my browser I can access the web, but the app will only work again if I turn wifi off and then it on again. This will correct the issue for only a short while. I have no issue using the app via a 3g connection. Does anybody else have this issue with your hero using the app?

I haven't been having an issue with using it on wifi. Do you have any issues navigating to the xda forums in your browser?

Same Issue Here Guys!

I get that error if I lose my wifi signal. It does not switch to 3G instantly. I usually just tap the wifi off and back on from my notification powerbar (or just off if I think I'm too far from my router). Wait a couple seconds and menu > refresh xda app.

No, xda-developers website works fine over wifi via the browser. I'm not sure what it really is. It could be a signal issue, but that doesn't explain why I can access data via the browser. Confusing... very confusing...
Im having a problem with my D3 where sometimes when its in my pocket and everytime i have it laying face down that when i pick it up i have no connection at all. Wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

Can you clarify what you mean by "no connection at all"?
Sorry was just waking up. By no connection, i mean that i have no 3g or any signal at all. Once i pick the phone up and unlock it, it will reconnect to the network and ill have missed calls and texts

It's your battery mode. After X amount of time it'll do that to save battery.
settings --> Battery and Data manager
from there you can change stuff like that.
It's there a way to use tethering without AT&T notice the usage. I know that is related to how the data package are processed by the phone and the size. I always use the USB thering. My wife use the Wi-fi thetering and she don't receive any notification.
Help, they want to change my plan to the 4gb, because that's the only plan that the customers can use thetering.

I am sure they have pitfalls in place that will flag if a user crosses X ammt of data usage. no telling what those are but I ahve been using various tether apps for a while and never flagged. on Sprint I used Tetherberry with my blackberry. this was a USB tether. I am now using a wifi tether app (cannot post link cause of my noob status) and I like this one. allows me to do wpa/Psk or to do access control with unsecured network. will be fun to use on for my tablet in the airports. but on teh code.android site it is android-wifi-tether.
I recommend this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17697118
Thanks

No problem.

Thats Sick, what did you do to get that working?, I find my internet connection extremely slow when I'm using FoxFI are you just using the tethering thats stock with the phone?
I tried this but always get a "timed out" message. "Check your network and try again." I'm in Verizon and my network works for everything else. Weird.

I've recently noticed that if I don't have an LTE connection or if I'm on wifi without wifi calling turned on I get an error when trying to send texts that I need a data connection. I also receive texts much later than people have sent them to me. When did data become necessary for texts?

I use Google Voice for text messages. I use Hangouts, but you can use google's Messenger app too.
Texts is cellular not data

I'll screenshot the next time it occurs. The error states that texts won't be sent until a data connection is present.
See?

I tried to test that. I did turn off mobile data and still be able to send text message. Maybe something is wrong with your sertings.

I haven't touched settings except for to turn roaming message retrieval on.
This is difficult to duplicate. It only happens at work where I work towards the center of the building and don't even get edge for data. Wifi coverage ranges from spotty to nonexistent and texts never go through because of this error.
I didn't have this problem on my old Note 4 and I wish that I'd kept it.
