Was just wondering if there was a way to unbrand it?

delete the O2 Apps, flash a Europe (aka Unbranded) Shipped ROM, or flash a Custom ROM.
for the last two... link to a tutorial in my signature, if needed.
My HD7 was like yours but ended up flashing the NewTech ROM,
there are too many restrictions and not enough features to a stock phone.

I'm thinking of upgrading from the official T-Mobile UK 2.21.2.6 WWE ROM I have installed to another network provider ROM to see if that fixes the problem.
But will updating from my current ROM to, say, an O2 UK official ROM work the same way as a simple ROM update, or will it brick the phone?
Does it need to be CID unlocked? I've ran what I think was the latest LokiWiz to unlock the SIM, but did this SID unlock the phone as well? How do I tell?
How do I know whether my phone's an AKU2 or AKU3?
And what's the best (i.e., most reliable) official ROM? Would upgrading to WM6 help anything?
Sorry if I'm going over ground covered a lot elsewhere, but the sheer amount of FAQs on CID/SIM/AKU etc., is incredibly overwhelming and confusing.

You will need LokiWiz 02b to CID unlock your device (if it is a G3)

There is probably an easier method however if you run the program "Registry Wizard" it normally tells you on start up

ROMS are all preference really.. at the moment im using T-mobile 2.26 US which i have found to be the best ROM (with applications / themes obviously) as T-mobile UK Rom is over a year old and is crap.
i have upgraded to WM6 3 times? and all 3 times i had problems, i am currently waiting for most of the bugs to be sorted..

Which ROM did you have before? What carrier?
If it's not on their website, then you'll have to wait for Hard SPL before you can flashed a dumped ROM.

The ROM i had was not for a specific carrier, it worked with the SIM card of any carrier. I bought it from the UK but i used it in the middle east.

i have an unlock tilt2 and just wondering is there any standard rom w/o at&t customization available with the latest htc sense? will changing the rom will activate the sim locked again?

Yes there are, try a search and you should find links to them (stock HTC ROMs with 2.5). You'll need HardSPL but no, flashing a new ROM won't change your SIM lock/unlock status.

I've noticed that between all the ROM's released by ansar and football, some are named "signed" and some are named "unsigned". I was just wondering, what's the difference?

Signed ROMs can be flashed on stock SPL, but they are limited to phones from a certain region or carrier.
Unsigned ROMs can be flashed on any hd7, but they require HSPL.
Currently we do not have HSPL for HD7, so we can only use Signed ROMs.

Hard SPL is a modified (hacked) version of the boot-loader that gives you the ability to flash any ROM from any region, including custom made ROMs (unofficial, made by chefs) on your device
what is the difference between branded and unbranded? how do i know if my phone is branded or unbranded?
branded as in it came from an operator who customised the ROM in some way whereas unbranded was bought from HTC direct or not via an operator and is not locked to an operator.

I'm thinking of buying an Omnia 7 through ebay from another country.
My question is, since the phone is locked do a foreign operator I will have to unlock it. After that can I easily change the rom to an unbranded one? Will I have any problems regarding that upgrade? Or I will have to get stuck with the operator rom releases?

I flashed an unbranded ROM before NoDo (wanted the new features and wanted to get rid of the carrier logo on startup) and have updated to NoDo and now Mango RTM without any problems.
