Hello guys. I just flashed Virtuous Quattro's ICS ROM and after playing around with it I realized that the camera has a bit of a problem ( tho I knew it did from the forums ) and I was just wondering which camera apps which are out on the market is the best for taking good pictures. I've tried Camera360, FxCamera but it's not really satisfying. ( Could be because I came from a sense ROM although I prefer AOSP builds but sense cameras are just really good )
If possible can anyone name me a few camera apps I could try out? One that can focus manually if there is an app that does that. THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS!
Here are a few I have tried - Ucam, lgCamera, CameraMX and Pudding Camera.. They are all pretty decent.
amaze camera is greate
camerazoomfx and vignette(good post processing)

Roms won't have any effect on the quality of the camera. Maybe it was poor lighting or something. Did you wipe before loading the rom?
There are only two types of camera software that could possibly affect picture quality.
TheDude uses the HTC camera (which imo takes better photos) and then theres the stock camera. If you want the stock camera, you probably will have to use JF's ROM. Most of the other ROM's have the HTC Camera app
ah ok thanks because i took sum photos in the house with stock camera the pics we're looking crisp but i haven't gone outside with the HTC camera app for lighting i will check it out it will most likely stay due to the features included
I use the HTC camera . I think it's better, zoom FTW!
Lol i found the problem the stupid back cover was dirty i used windex cleaned it out its better now. Does any recommend cutting that plastic off
I wouldnt recomend doing that. It will expose the camera to more dust and the elements
Official Android Camera v12 (Honeycomb Edition)
Requirements: Android
Overview: The new Camera app that originated from Tech From 10′s test Android Market, but for whatever reason, may not work on some phones but currently working on Gingerbread DX and others.
SO what's the difference between this and the previous Cam?
I don't have the Macro setting for some reason.

Me the same.
For first lock new version has no difference with stock.
Oh, and I seem to have lost my widescreen photo settings.
thx for the apk file
thanks but i prefer the sense camera !
force closes when i switch to video
I haven't the macro setting
the sense camera is the best, it even has a face detection feature, the stock android camera is really, well the android developers in charge of the YouTube app and camera app, should just get fired, thats just my own and personal opinion.
im sorry if i offend anybody, but i just had to say it.
Yeah...sense camera have touch focus too...

Hi all,
I've got a problem:
When im taking photos with my rooted incredible s runnning aosp rom (CM7, MIUI all versions, icsbeta) the quality is very bad and the focus is very laggy, there is also alot of overexposure. Theres also alot grain in darker pictures.
When im installing sense based roms (tried 3) then the quality and focus/exposure is good again.
for some pictures you can pm me and you will get them asop, cant post pictures yet.

This is a issue on all aosp roms because they don't have HTC camera drivers. However there is a aosp ics rom called virtuous quattro 4.0.3 that doesn't have camera lag however its not fully working.
God damn it I love this question.
Thats really the biggest weak point of aosp.
The roms are just great!, i like miui alot!
But the downside is the cam,
I've not seen this question somewere else, is it that only the ins suffers the most?
Other cam apps wont bother.
I just want best of both worlds together.
The cam of htc rulezz and interface and possibilities of miui rulezz.
(With MIUI i get 3200quadrant
and 3750 antutu oc stable on 1.5)
All HTC phones run crap camera rez without sense
My CM7 seems decent quality with no lag?

Hi, I don't often take panoramic pictures... but recently I've been using panaroid android rom and the stock camera is not as good as i would think especially comparing to what samsung stock has.
So I was wondering what do people recommendo for panorama pictures. Take in noticed i've tried photaf, panorama camera 360, procapture, and a whole bunch...
If you guys know if there is one that like the samsung stock app automatically takes the pictures and calibrate them you know it shows the green mark... since all of the rest although are really good taking the pic is kinda hard for me since I suffer from early parkinsons... and since the holidays are coming i know im going to take a lot of panorama shots.
Any help would be appreciated.
I know there's no real best app, but I'm looking for one that doesn't have bad lag and choppy video, and lets me touch focus.
To be honest, the stock camera app that came with Gingerbread was really good and fast, and later ones started to lag for me. But I don't think there's any apk for the old version.
So can anyone recommend a good video camera app?

Google Camera is the best, but you can not have it without installing an AOSP or CM ROM.
Google Camera work only with 4.4+ and up Android.
I am interested in getting the apk for the original Samsung camera that shipped with the android 2.3 galaxy note. Where can I get it? I don't know how to extract it from the ROM.
anybody?
