Hi all!
Few days ago i updated my lg p990 via LGMobile update service to 2.3.4 Gingerbread V20m with no problems. I`m from Serbia btw. Then i rooted my phone and installed clockwork recovery to backup my rom. I made a mistake to do that after i performed root so now when i restore my rom the phone is rooted again and i can`t use update utility anymore! It says my model is not suported. I then used SuperOneClick to unroot and r1-stockrecovery-2x-unsigned zip to remove recovery and it did that but still can`t update or restore original stock V20m rom with update utility. I even managed to install V20l ROM and baseband via Smartflash and offcourse still no update posibility and "not supported model" message. Yesterday i downloaded from XDA, Netherland stock V20m but, guess what, still not supported. Can anyone tell me how to or what to do to make my phone update officialy again with LG tool. THNX in advance

Well you have go download correct files. I don't remember very well where the download location is.
But I have managed to do full installation of original lg software over the cyanogenmod.
There is a step by step guide on this forum how to do this.
I am from Croatia and after that my phone accept automaticly update.
Now I am on Cyanogenmod because it is so much better than stock.

I downloaded stock V20m rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041 and still not supported with update. Can u please find what u did and post here!? I don`t know what i didn`t try and nothing worked so far. And i have GPS isue so i have to restart phone with gps ON and then it works. I didn`t have that problem when i updated to V20m first time. I have read that it`s a problem on V20l but not on V20m. U said u use custom rom!? Is everything working properly!? No workarounds to make something work like this GPS problem!?

Start reading. Everything you need to know is in the Development section but easier to find in the sticky posts over at http://2x.modaco.com.
You probably already have the correct drivers installed, so in a nutshell you have to download the nvflash app and install the corresponding flashable image file to the phone. Follow the guides by Paul (paulobrien) carefully and take your time.
Hello, I installed the EURO OPEN firmware version from 5th April via SmartFlash. Now it works fine. Is there any difference b/ween using NVFlash or SmartFlash. Are these techniques are equvilent?
Btw don't use LG Updater to update your firmware, because it update my working v10b baseband from 18.02 to 10c baseband 26.02. So practically it branded my unbranded phone.
I find the ring volume quite low, and the intalk voice very distorted but loud at least...
Hi all,
I tried the cyanogenmod 7.1 but reinstalled an original rom after a while again. Now my phone says I have 2.2.2 with baseband 20110725, kernel 2.6.32.9 , the version is V10b. I remember there was an update to V10d during summertime. I'd like to have the V10d back... if I use the update-tool it says there is no update available and says I have the v10D version , but on the phone it says v10b ??? Can't follow anymore any suggestions how to get the v10d through update ?
Is it necessary to have the v10d if gingerbread ever comes out , or can it update from 10vb to gingerbread as well ?
Cheers !
Denis

Yeah. The settings/about menu will show you the version of the installed ROM, which is still 10b. The LG Update tool checks the version of the baseband, which in your case is newer. (You can see that version in the Hidden Menu, Version Info, Factory Version.)
To update through the LG Update tool you first need to flash an OLDER baseband, then the tool will let you uprade.
(Or you can smartflash an older baseband+rom, to make sure your phone is in a factory state, with stock recovery and no root before upgrading.)
indeed ! but I've figured out that I only flashed the basband and now I just flashed the .bin file too (the rom) and now I've got the V10d back !

Ah, yes ;-) Assuming the ROM you want is already available in a file, that's another way to do it
I found the list with corresponding countries/ROM versions, then it was a piece of cake. Now it's tempting to try the cmod 7.1 again for a bit longer now I found out how to flash
Hello!!
I've recently updated my phone to Official ICS (Korean Ver.) V30I and I had problems installing the recovery.
I could root my phone, its just that I can't install the recovery. I know there are already modified ICS Korean Ver. for p970 but there are still a lot of bugs and battery life is kind a shorter than the official ics.
First, I've used rom manager to install but after boot, ""security error"" came up at boot and cannot even start.
Second, I've also tried using other methods such as programs made by OB devs but still the same problem.
So I would like to ask, if anyone out there has this problem and any solutions to this, please reply.
Have a nice day and thanx.!!

Don't use ROM Coverter! It doesn't put the different bin parts correctly with such a large bin file.
If your using V30I then I'm assuming you have KU5900. Use novasoc's lg extractor to extract the bin file, patch the various .bin files together in numerical order. You can then use novasoc's recovery injector to patch the bin file. Patch with SFT and voila.

Hello, I'd like to update my phone using Smartflash.
I have an official V20B rom which is rooted. I would like to install a new official rom but i'm completely lost when it comes to choosing the right version !
Where can I get the official V20S stock rom (which can be installed with smartflash)
Also, is there any official ICS rom ? (same, for smartflash), if so, is it fully stable ? Where can I get it ? (LG Mobile update says my phone is up to date... Huh)(I have read that you need to change the boot partition or something like that with ICS roms, is it valid for official ICS roms from LG too ?).
Do I have to unroot my phone before installing a new rom with Smartflash ?
Thanks.

1. Make sure that you have P990.
2. V20B should be a gingerbread.
3. If you read one post below yours, you could’ve find exactly what you ask official ICS for smartflash.
Cheers.

I actually have V10B sorry !
I will update via LG Tools with the kdz instead of smartflash. Is there anything to do specifically to keep my data in the phone or is it saved automatically in the LG Tools update process ?
Thanks

I think updating via LG Tool doesn't erase data on your phone... however I would strongly advise you to synchronize your contacts with gmail and backing up you apps with titanium backup in an external sd card.
Update via LG Tool didn't erase my data when I went from 2.2 to 2.3

You need to read a lot mate.....
try reading fully and use the AllinOneTool Kit by Spyrosk. You can use the KDZ file which you have downloaded with that tool....very informative and easy
