[Q] cleaners - LG Revolution

Has anyone used any apps such as History Eraser (Infolife)? Worth it or not?

I like using zd box

Not even sure I need one, but thought I would ask. I use ccleaner on my windows system and was looking to see if there was anything worthwhile for android.

I dont really use those things on android, but on a side note... I dont use anything by Infolife due to things I've read about them in other forums and by googling. But of course everyone has to decide for themselves, just thought I'd mention it.

[Q] Is Lookout app worth using or is it bloatware?

Question using Lookout, is it worth using or is it just something that bogs the DS7 down? Will it try to mess up any of the root apps?

I use it with no negative affects. Non-rooted. Slight slow-down during installation of new apps.

I removed it and I am pretty sure I get better battery life now, it sure seems like it.

Ok so count is 1 and 1. I mean I started using it now myself to see. Would be good to know from others tho if you all can chime in. =)
I havent had any problems with it since Feb 2, but I also have stopped a few processes - this being one of them... that have rendered the tablet useless for a min or two.

It is extremely useful.
Not only for a remote wipe or device location but also general security as well.
You can decide to not use a security app but when you get a malicious app or stolen device you will be kicking yourself

LOLLOLLOL!!!!!!!!!!
Dun need an antivirus for mobile now, especially android. LOL
Virus is common only in Windows platform, not on Linux and iOS platform
Antivirus = wasting RAM, Battery and Memory Space. Haha.
Try google if anyone got virus on Android mobile phone? LOL.
We only got "bugs", no virus
If you know what you are downloading you really don't need a antivirus on your phone, but if you want one ESET Mobile Security is very lite and excellent.
You don't even notice it is there.
anti virus for android is kinda like wearing a condom to dry hump... its a waste of money and there is no need for it
using antivirus is about as useful as using atk lol
You dont need anykind of antivir but if you believe so, then you should use lookout
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I don't believe in antiviruses for android either. I just use Lookout for the find my phone feature.
For those using Lookout, any of you notice it starts eating more and more RAM the longer your phone is turned on? Like mine starts at around 18MB or so then after a few days it creeps up to 30+?
Me not, but i used lookout just for 3 days or something like that

Lookout is excellent. Don't care much about anti virus but for locating a lost phone remote wipe etc you can't beat it. I also use lbe privacy guard to block out un wanted network access. That paired with droid wall and your set

Probably this is why you need an anti-virus type app? I use Aegislab Antivirus Free. Monitors incoming apps and lets me they're clean.. Worth the bother i think...
should you really want to use one,
download 'ALYac' on market.

You loose your phone that frequently that you need an app to find it? Really?
I had my phone stolen once and I had no way to wipe it. I didn't care about finding it, I just wanted my data wiped. I had the opportunity too since the robber used my phone for an entire day before my telco finally cut my line off. I never cared before then either, but now I have Lookout turned on. Its added insurance particularly if your phone carries sensitive emails or contacts.
I use AegisLab Antivirus, it has free version, quick & neat.
Paid version has remote lock & wipe functionalities also SMS filtering for phishing link.

How to port webOS

I read an article where it stated that since webOS went open source. Some developers are succesful in porting it ro android devices. I want to know how true it is and is there any flashable for our galaxy note???
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
It will be impossible without proper sources for hardware drivers.
but you can try
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Web os itself may be fine to import, but it's still so new, as previous poster said it's the kernel that needs the real work per device.

If I knew how, i'd even help.

I was going to start a thread on this, but the search function turned this one up, recently Open WebOS has been spotted in the wild on a Galaxy Nexus and the Asus Nexus 7, so does this bring us any closer to a Note port? or even better a way to dualboot both similar to the HP Touchpad would be awesome! are their any devs actively working on this since i can't seem to find any info around the forums / internet in general, but i think there would be quite a lot of interest and plenty would be willing to test it if someone with the skills was able to make it happen
I like webos because its plain and simple and can do the basic required work if u succed in getting any info regarding its port then feel free to post.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Sorry to revive but if I had WebOS on my GT-N7000 it'd be like heaven in my palm!! We can't allow the Nexus to have this over us! Sorry to say but IMHO, WebOS smoothness and multitasking ability straight kills both android and iOS! (I have an iPhone, Note I, and Palm Pre). Sign me up if we need a team to get this going on our n7000.
Its also my wish to get the webos on my note or any other mobile device. I am now fed up of android and their spying data collection stuff. The permissions just feaks me out when a simple game says it needs to read the phone book and call logs. Wtf where the hell an app needs to get these permissions. The second is the location thing. they just make us use their os because of the wow factor. Ignoring what its doing to UA

Anyone in NYC?

I have no clue how to root or whatever and was wondering if anyone knows of any place or person in the NYC area that will root my watch for me. I don't want to have to return it because of the lack of functions without seeing what potential it actually has

I'm not sure. I don't know wat any of that means. I just want to have more apps etc on it. I've never rooted or nulled anything before. I've read the threads about rooting and null but it's so confusing for fora newbie

What else have you seen though? After you install Null there are a few apps out there that you can install, but a lot of them are not built for the screen/keyboard on the watch, so you might not use them much.
It would be useful to install a custom ROM so you can tinker with it, but it's not like it's going to open the flood gates for you when it comes to custom apps
I work in the city BTW (near the ferry) but I won't be back in the office until next week. I can probably walk you through it though, it's really not that hard.
