SWTOR - Off-topic

just outta curiosity, who here play SWTOR?

I keep hearing about it but never tried it. Would yoi recommend it?
Sent from my SO-01C using XDA App

watched a let's play, seems to be a good game

Can you play a demo or trial version of it? I don't normally like RPGs but I <3 Star Wars so I might give it a go if there is.

I think I might download it...unless there is an awesome multiplayer, then I might buy it.

Want to play it but it might affect my college.

I heard it was very linear.
I don't like that raymond.....

The game looks to have promise. My co-workers are trying to coax me into buying it but I just cant pull myself to buy another subscription game when there are so many free/cheaper games out there.

Same with me. I much rather buy games for ~$10 that don't require more money. Even though its starwars, it doesn't seem worth it in the end.

Angry Birds for Android (Lite) OUT NOW!!!

http://www.talkandroid.com/13118-an...lite-officially-confirmed-for-friday-release/
Woohoo! I love this game on iTouch because it's so damn addicting! But damn, i'm gonna have to do all those levels again . Now here's hoping to Plants vs Zombies!
woopwoop this is a really fun game
if they port PvZ.. I hope they include the other modes as well.. not just adventure
+1 to pvz!

I never noticed if it did. Most of the time I played though people would take 40+ minutes to play their turn.
I was playing one night while watching a movie on my tv, and I was able to watch the whole 2 hour movie and then some family guy before the person played their next turn.
Want to know their word? W-I-T-H. 2 and a half hours for a 10 point word. Srsly?
Words with friends with cross platform Feint = Willing to pay 10$ for that.. if that ever happens..
Word feud still has those damn annoying pop ups. I think WWF would be much better based on it being like the iphone/touch version. Wordfeud needs to implement stats, as well as resign for the non current player to really be a good game.
I was just turned on to Angry Birds, I am sure it will be really good after a couple months on Android.
WordFeud is still a work in progress and it is getting better with each update. I would definitely pay for it to have the ads go away.
I will pay for plants vs zombie like MURDER money
Go get it!
Does anyone know where the beta apk can be downloaded? It's not showing up in my marketplace
I checked my market place and don't see it. Is it really there? Is there a qrcode for it?

I saw "Angry Birds" on Appbrain, but it is a scam trading on the good name of the iPhone game.
Found it on AppBrain. Has a QRCode too for those that don't have AppBrain installed.

Is anyone else not getting angry birds in their market?

Anyone played reckless racing

Reckless Racing for Android
Love this game

Looks good. I'ma check it out.
finally, an impressive looking racing game, I might pick this up
Yeah mulitplayer mode is the best...
By far one of the best examples of great graphics and physics, mostly physics. It is somewhat challenging to control but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easier.
Why can I not find this in the app store? Im dying for a good racing game.

It got pulled due to their servers being overloaded. It should be back up eventually.
This is the only game that I've seen that is truly impressive. The graphics are amazing for a mobile game (wouldn't look out of place as an xbox live arcade title). The default controls (auto accelerate with left, right and brake) are perfect. If this game came out on PC I'd play it.
I'd love to try it out, but it's not in the Market. When I found a QR code for it, I just got a "file not found" message. I even tried using Market Access. I'm willing to pay for it, but its lack of availability through mainstream channels may force me to look for it elsewhere.

Is anyone else having problems getting online with this game?
Yup. I wasn't able to get into a server all weekend.
Single players still fun though. Great game.
Reminds me of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noDi1IzuotM
Found an update on the server issue: http://www.polarbit.com/2010/10/update-reckless-racing/
I hope the gameplay makes up for what Polarbit as a company lacks in class and professionalism. They posted a picture of Johnny Cash giving the middle finger on their website because people are running pirated copies. Maybe if they didn't take it off the market... I'm sure people would pay for it if they actually could. On top of that, they're basically blaming their overloaded servers on the number of pirated copies floating around, which is a bull**** cop out.
It's back on the market. Just got it.

Actually, I did find one through other means, but liked the game enough that I bought it today, since I was finally able to do so. Who's to say if other people are as reputable as I. I would bet that server outage cost them a lot of sales.
I just flat out bought it because of the 24hr return policy but this game is worth it.
Bought it... haven't had much opportunity to play it yet but the minute or so I tried it looks really good.
just bought this game and it's pretty awesome with nice graphics.

Sony PS Vita is horrible.

Now I say that but I really can't put my finger on why I think it sucks. I used mine for three days then returned it. I was annoyed with lack of battery life, I thought the games were similar to psp games. Holding it was odd and the screen was sub par to samsung's amoled. I was so excited to love this thing, oh well I'm done venting.
This doesn't surprise me. Their portable playstation line has never been as great as I hoped it would be. The same goes for their smartphones for that matter. Always look awesome before release, but then not so great afterwards.

Matter of taste. Love my psp i use it way more then my ds. And what model vita 3g wifi? Settings? Games? You gave no real info on why it sucks other then you thought it sucks. Its neginning library is going to suck thats how its always been with ps. Ps1 had no good launch games, ps2 didnt really have any, psp didn't have any and ps3 didn't have any so you based your hole experience off of three days when so far it looks like it only has one good game (uncharted)?
Not trying to sound like a jerk but really? Haven't got it yet and it will be sometime before i get one but yeah not ready to jump on board it sucks for no reason train just yet.

I dont think it will be long before games companies will really start to take advantage of the vita capabilities and we will see some exciting games

Best game I've ever had on the PS3, for both visuals and playability, came out on launch day and was indeed the first game I ever played on it - Motorstorm. Like you said - matter of taste.
Sorry, but your an idiot! You gave it 3 days and you think its crap? very bad....
please keep your smartphone for gaming like a nerd and leave the PS Vita alone...
better for us.
I bought it on day 1, and im absolutely surprised and i Love it soooo much!

I bought the PSP 2000 near release and absolutely loved it. I installed a custom firmware so I could play emulators (which was great), watch YouTube, etc. It was probably some of the best $$$ I had ever spent, because I used it for years.
I do not play on purchasing the PSP Vita, though. I don't think it'll be a failure or anything, I just don't see the need of it. I do all my on-the-go gaming on my phone. I know there is no "hardcore" games like Uncharted or anything, but more casual on-the-go fun games is what I favor.
Just my personal opinion, though.
I haven't come to a conclusion yet. It doesn't feel like the PSP when I'm holding it. I think that's throwing me off more than anything.
Currently playing Uncharted.
I am loving mine, I had a PSP-1000. I got mine fully updated to 2.00, way back when. I knew I was going to get the Vita when I saw the first trailer for it. I bought it thinking it was all ready a month or two old in the states, but oh well. I am looking forward to the Gravity Rush game looks awesome! I don't have uncharted but I am not a big Playstation guy, so I am new to the series. Worth getting? It just likes like a Prince of Persia like game.
I bought my PS3 the month it was released.I think it cost me some 600€.Back then I was like 12 or 13 years old,so it was money collected through the course of a whole year.I was really disappointed at first.Fast forwarding to February 28th of 2012,these 600€ are my best spent money, along with the 500€ I parted with for my Galaxy S 2,which too disappointed me at first, only to amaze me thrice as much afterwards. As Azrienoch says, that's the moral of the news!Don't judge any device from your first impressions with it.It's likely to be a wrong impression, because it's something different than what you're used to.Just a friendly word of advice.
Still,I'm waiting to see whether it'll fare well with remote play from the PS3.If I can play my PS3 games on it through wifi/etc,I'm sold.(checks wallet...)Well,maybe not yet.
It is a great device. The launch lineup is also very good, I think the best launch lineup ever. My only complain is the mediocre browser and lack of folders in the menus.

Blood and Glory

I'm hoping I don't get **** for this, but since it's about an app it should be fine.
Anyways, I tried out Blood and Glory today and it's pretty damn awesome. For those who haven't heard of it, it's pretty much like Infinity Blade on iOS. Graphics aren't as good, but they're still pretty impressive.
For those who HAVE heard of it, what are your thoughts on it?
I've played it and many similar but I'd rather just play mw2 on my xbox or any other game on it. I don't game too much on my phone but racing games have entertained me most on it. I could see how people would like it though.

Yeah. I wish they had more racing games, Hot Pursuit is the only decent one aside from the messed up car sounds.
Real Racing 2 was good but buggy compared to the iOS version. I had my hopes up for it but oh well.
Just uninstalled it last nite.......got sick of the stupid ad notifications that show up in the status bar every morning or whenever u run the game! Too annoying.
It is good game, but I preffer to buy gam than to pay later for this in-app ****. You can play for free for a while but then I discovered I will have to spend lots of money to finish this game (20$ or more...)
i play till end..this is a good game
and all free
I will give a try

Do you exploit glitches in video games?

Funny i'm asking this in XDA, but I had this argument with a couple of friends and well, they think that exploiting minor glitches in video games is wrong, though I think its nice to have a small boost sometimes!

It depends. If you're using glitches to do stuff you can't normally do when offline then that's fun. If you're doing it online then you're a loser who needs a life. The only people who think it's okay to cheat online are other losers who also need to get a life.

Not on my PS3 (not that I really play online often but I still feel like it cheapens the "achievements" ).
However I will on the emulators I play on my phone since the control scheme already puts me at a disadvantage and I'm not playing games on my phone for anything other a quick break from everything while I'm waiting on line or something like that.

Nah, really I'm not missing out. I have played both platforms online and PS3 is my preferred choice. I'm the opposite of you - I've had a PS3 since release day, but am on my 3rd Xbox which I only got cos it was so cheap. I get them and then regret it and sell them normally. I'll keep it this time though, just for the exclusives.
Personally, I prefer an online experience where you don't have spoilt little brats calling you ever racist or homophobic slur they can think of. And I'd rather not listen to someone else's favourite dubstep track while trying to play a game. There's certainly a lot more Xbox users (kids always buy the cheaper console), but that's not really relevant when the first thing you do is mute every single one of them.

Word and word. I would like if a few more people had mics on PS3 to call in movement in BF3, but the spot function works well enough that my K/D stays positive and my team usually wins. I'll deal with that sacrifice if it means no little turds flapping their gums and not having to pay another $30 a month on top of internet costs. PS3 controller fits my hands better as well, but that's just nitpicking.
