[Q] How to go in recovery and downloading firmware mode if my 3 buttons wont work??

hi my frnds phone not working with 3 button style to update roms or install firmware...
can any one tell me the both ways to do that frm PC....
please he is dying like in hell
is there any way for him guyss.............

before you go and start flashing stuff to make it worse....
it might be a better idea to tell us what is the problem you hare having with the current rom
like start with letting us know the current ROM version you are using and the phone model.
you can easily go into the Download Mode from the PC, but it's not wise if you don't know what you are trying to fix.

the short answer is adb.exe reboot download

what i m asking is simply that...
without touching those 3 buttons......

Remove the battery, put it back, (vol-, home-button,power) to download mode and reflash with odin.

While I understand the joke, but please spare a thought to the OP. I understand the state of panicky after seeing it, the anxiety and all.

i had d same problem wen i flashed d firmware wrongly. it appears tat u ve bricked ur phone. hold vol down + home button + power button. if any picture comes like an android sweeping out d trash saying downloading. if so then visit samfirmware.com -> samsung android. then select galaxy s I9000. Then it will ask u to sign in. if u are a member then no problem or else register.
see ur country or region then download the firmware u were using. then download the odin and the required .PIT file. flash it. cool. ur phone is back to normal....
if it doesnt go to download mode.................... man u are in big problm get ur motherboard changed. it happened to me. i had to change my galaxy s motherboard.

Hi! Here is the story of my nightmare... I have a Bell i9000m with Android 2.1. I have use GST tweaker tools to root it. I also have do a backup with titanium backup (but I think it useless at this step) After this I have try to change the battery icon with the same utility. When I have rebooted the phone, it stop at the "S" logo for a minute and after the screen go black and the button are glowing and the phone buzz. After this nothing happen. When I go in recovery mode (3e) I obtain an error:
update media, please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/st110
(Invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA:
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions,
copy default media content failed.
I have try with odin3 1.7 to flash the phone but I'm a little bit confused with all possibility...
One stupid thing I have to say, I don't know my original firmware version... ;-(
I have see many good custom kernel... it is possible to fix this and by the way to upgrade to froyo?
It is possible to fix my problem doc?

Easiest fix :
Go in recovery and wipe.
Then restart and see if that fixed your problem.
Alternate (Guaranteed solution) :
Go here
Click "Direct Download". If you don't see it try to refresh the page.
Fire up odin.
Extract the zip u downloaded
For pda in odin select the .tar you extracted
Put your phone in download mode.
Flash w/o repartition or nething.
That should work.

Hi! I have try the 2 solutions you mention. But always same problem... I have to mention I have installed speedmod-kernel-k12p-500hz it is correct or I have to replace it?

Ok then do this :
Get these two
Flash odin with repartition and select the pda,modem,csc
Once done
Go back to odin. Flash just pda with no repartition or nething of the jl2 (previous thing u downloaded in my first post).

Sorry for this question but what do you mean by nething? (sorry english is not my first language!)

this problem accure bcs of
1.you didnt remove bettry b4 flashing rom
2.some stoke filmware give you error message but if you flash with 521+pda+csc+modem file then tht problem is solve
and i found that I9000XWJM5 filmware is really good if somebody need it then pm me i all send zip file

p.s. i have all the files downloaded from ur previous posts... i just need to know the order. also for the second download file, which file is the PDA file? the one with the word "CODE" in it? or i dont even apply that one .. ;;;

Hello, i've been having the same problem with my GT-i9003, and even after flashing with odin i still have the same problem. Well, it's not exactly the same, cause my phone will keep on a starting bucle if i try to start it without my EXTERNAL sd card (the one i bought), and if i start it with the external card in, it starts, but i can't use anything that uses the sd card (music, camera, 3g), so yes i can call and message and use wifi, but that's not how it's ment to be. Basically it's like i had no external or internal cards.
So everythime i try to flash without the external sd card, i get the mounting error, and if i flash with the external card, it seems ok , but i still can't use any of the things mentioned above.
I'm a bit lost, and i believe it's because i'm missing something (i'm new to this). i don't want to send it to samsung (yet)
i've been using the firmware that came with the phone, didn't try anything new.
to sum up: any attempts to flash with/without the external card are irrelevant, the problem persists.
Any thoughts/ideas/solutions?

if u want to upgrade to stock official 2.3 rom then download files from this link

download this rar file on ur pc .. unrar it then u will find a .nb0 file
jst copy this file to ur sd card using ur usb cable
dont put it in any folder it means putting on the root of sd card
when u done copying
remove data cable and then switch off your phone
now you have restart your phone in download mode now this is a tricky part
when ur phone is completly off and had vibrated like it does when shuting down you have to press volume up and volume down key both at the same time and keep them pressed
now while holding both of the volume keys together press the power on button and keep all these keys pressed until ur phone vibrates
now after that android written screen it will show an exclamation symbole underwhich there is a android standing here press the home button on the touch pad of this phone
now scroll down the menu by volume down button press it untill u reach 4th and might be last option which says "install .nb0 from sd card"
click on it by pressing Back key remember back key work as selection key in this mode
now it will ask u about yes or no
scroll down to yes and press back key
now in few minutes it will completly install and after installation it takes a little time to boot up

Facing this type of error... Please Help

May be incomplete / bad download. Redownload nb0 file.
If you find device id mismatch error then use SUT L software to install using PC.

Nb0 file is correct bro.. I also faced this error earlier when tried to update my phone by different nb0 file which is for csl mi 410...!!!

ok if u are facing these issue then its time to go to download mode
go to this link and download latest sut (software update tool)
now unzip it and select the most suited version for ur window x86 x64 both are included

when ur done install the software run it
and follow the attachments
when u are at the last moment of attachments its time to go to download mode
switch off ur phone
keep ur data cable ready
when phone is off press the volume up button remember only volume up button and keep it pressed and now press the power on button
it will now not vibrate or do not show that android symbol it will be a black screen showing something in white small fonts
now plug in the data cable and phone will be recognized by the software and also one drive named as fih will be shown
when phone is connected the next option will appear click on it and it will do all the work for you....
after all done phone will restart automatically and will be updated
"Make sure u make a back up of all contacts before doing it becoz i suggest for a clean installation though u can still go for upgrade insteed of fresh install"

ok after update in technical terms at 2.3 phone gets java 6 environmental build application support.. in easy terms... mostly all the apps are now supported
now u might notice that there are certain application installed with the update ,,, go here and read all about deleting them

now this isn't expected it was supposed to work fast.. ok does the problem accusing is this one
1. while lock the screen it takes quite long to lock and sound flicks
2. while turning on by pressing that lock button takes a way long to turn on screen
if these are the problems then u might go first to the good stock rom section and find another update file for 2.3.4 might mine is currpted for ur use it happens ...

hi guys im wondering if any of yous can give me some idea as to what happened to my galaxy note.first of all i will start by saying i am a noob at this?ok so i tried to update my note to ics using odin v1.83.i put in download mode and the box came up yellow and i clicked on pda and then i hit start.now i didnt do a backup because 1 im stupid and too i didnt think i needed to as there wasnt really anything on the fone that i needed or so i tought.anyways everything went fine until it didnt reboot.so i unpluged it and took out the battery and reinserted it.to find that that fone was starting up but with no visual on sccreen or nothing.please tell me im not screwed.iv left it back with vodafone as this is my network.just want to know whats gonna happen really.cheers guys any advice would be great?

Lets hope you haven't hard bricked it like I did. Are you not able to get anything on the screen at all? Does PC Odin show a cable connection when you connect your phone to your PC via data cable?

Not sure what exactly do you mean by phone starting with no visuals. How do you know it's starting up if you can't see anything ?
Anyway, check if you can enter download mode again - power+home+vol.down. Even without screen, after that press volume up to continue - if it works, Odin should detect your phone. If it does, just flash it again. Probably just a bad/unfinished flash.

Or you could try a USB JIG if that doesn't work.

cheers guys.to answer some of the questions.first it still detects in odin and i have tried or roms or updates.still not working.2.you can hear the start music when i power on.then the screen is just black.
