Home button does not work - and too bad this altitude has potential.
My question is this if you can run this altitude the home button?
That this Rom really crazy and I want to use it ...
But it really sucks that the central button ...

Yesterday I found an amazing phone on the internet. The HTC Touch. So, as I am not that much into the Herald modding, I could not figure out, which tools or what software they use on that phone.

So please, could someone tell me, what rom here on the board makes my phone look like the HTC Touch and behave like the HTC Touch? I do not expect my phone to be exactly like that, but perhabs its possible to have it a looking a bit like the Touch?
Sorry, if this sounds like a stupid question, but I read through the board and I do not want to break my phone, so I would like to no exactly what rom to use, because so I am able to do only one crack (HardSPL/uspl) ... ^^

Whats up... welcome to the forum..... Ummm The interface you are looking for is HTC home (today plugin) ... for the full touch experience you'll want the cube as well. You cant go wrong with open touch biggy 3.0.... its a great place to start
I suggest you go with Open Touch as well. You will get the features that you are looking for.

And many more ofcourse. I have Open Touch V3.0 Biggy and it's even better then the interface on the touch. You Get: HTC Home Screen, Cube ( finger sweeping thing ), Loads of good games and many more.
There are several programs here on the forum to make the phone to your wishes. For example if you want a real nice picture viewing program i suggest you use Slide 2 View by A_C.
Use the search function on the forums and type A_C or slide 2 view. Even the Touch doesnt have this function.

i need to know how do i check the accelerometer,when buying a pre owned diamond...i need to know some default prog/settings which come preinstalled in it...

You can run the teeter game. It's taking full advatange of diamond's accelerometer.
My set is also a preowned set. Still in a very mint condition.
I suggest you to check the basic functionality, buzzer, buttons, touch screen, bluetooth, wifi, gps, camera. Don't forget to check the USB port and all accessories.

Check out this new software, Hi-Launcher 1.0 for windows mobile at http://www.ranosoft.net. Its really cool.I have been using this software for my Tungsten T/X for the last 4 years and it makes your navigation into various programs or functions (totally customisable) very smooth and fast.
I have installed it on my xperia x1 and thank god,I dont have to tweak any registry to change the font (not that i know how to do it!!) or press more than 3 buttons to call a person.
The menu on the start up screen can be initated however you want (hard button or screen touch) and simply swiping the screen will bring up your most wanted functions, which can be activated with one touch and totally is FINGER FRIENDLY.I did not feel that it slowed down the system one bit .
You can add your list of speed dial contacts in the start up menu and a touch will initiate the call.However,the cancel hard press button will not work if you decide to terminate the call and you need to use the red phone icon on the screen.I find the bluetooth icon particularly useful.Above all,I am totally happy for the big fonts and no longer need to skew my eyes to focus the default small font my xperia came with.I guess this one software will fill most of the gaps I was trying to cope with,in my xperia x1.
hello everyone.
i am the new proud (debatable) owner of the htc touch diamond gadget (cause thats what it is - a glorified phone).
before the diamond i had (and still do) a 1st generation iphone.
some of the issues with the iphone that made me get the diamond are:
- no bluetooth file transfer
- no flash (ya i know the diamond has no flash but no problem)
- loses network connectivity a lot! (currently on 2.2)
- no sms message forwarding
- the interface is really annoying ... screw apple's design. i find it very lame and very unfriendly
Now. ... being that the diamond has (1)wm6.1 and (2) a smaller screen i'd expect the developers to englarge the fonts / dialog boxes... but no they made everyone so damn time that even when i try to tap with my pinkly finger i cant get accurate results.
Problem 1
from the first time and until now whenever i do screen calibration it makes me go through the darn thing like 3 or more times. i am hitting the stupid cross right in the center .. i dont know if its not regestering it or not. i also have to apply lots of pressure... its frustrating.
Problem 2
being that i live in the middle east i require an arabic keyboard.
thank God HTC provided an arabic firmware that has the keyboard and the fonts. no more paying extra.
the problem is: the arabic keyboard is VERY tiny.
the english keyboard on the other hand comes in all varities and is beautiful ...
is there no way to make the arabic keyboard bigger ???
other than those two issues everything else is A ok. (for now)

as far as i am concerned in relation to problem 1..it can be furstrating sometimes, when you tap the screen hold on to the cross till it starts moving and then follow...try to get used to it. It is pretty basic
in relation to number 2...Be patient it has only been out a while and I am sure one of the boys is working on it...I would suggest you to start a new thread requesting bigger arabic keyboard and some will tune in

...are you hitting the cross with your finger, 'cos the screen calibration is designed for the stylus - this hasn't changed from the early days. Come to think of it, neither has the boring calculator UI... thank you XDA!!

i got it to work a couple of times with the finger cause i usually like to use my thumb to navigate TF3D...
offtopic question: how come iphone has no screen calibration?
Hey Everybody,
first thanx for this great forum.....I got myself a diamond for XMAS and I have been playing around alot with flashing ROM and apps. Now I have the following problem I did not find a ROM yet which works out for me perfect but getting very close..... What I have been trying to find out is how do you change the soft buttons on the HOME screen they either say "Phone" on the left and "Programs" on the right some other say Contact and CommMngr which I would like to have on my current ROM. So is there any programm out there yet which I could use to set this up? Or can I change this in some txt file?? Hope someone can give me a hint on how todo this.....thnx in advance!
