Ok this is only my opinion. I have tried these ICS ROMS.

Doc's Master ICS (v3.1 as v4 is buggy)

and unofficial kang build 4.0.3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499730
All of them are great. I haven't tried weui because I didn't like it in gingerbread and I want my ICS experience to be totally new.
Also haven't tried ICSGS because there seemed to be alot of ppl having problems with it.
If you want insane transitions and themeing I'd go with fusion. (eye candy city)
To me Doc's Master ICS (v3.1, as v4 is buggy) and the 4.0.3 kang unofficial build, are the absolute best.
I've never had a sleep death or charge death with either of them.
Gapps are included so that's one less step for someone trying it for the first time.
Also I use glitch 14b3 as the kernel for all my ICS roms cuz it just makes it so damn smooth.
So I'd like to know what you guys think so we can help new memebers who are thinking of jumping on the ICS bandwagon to help them make a decision.
Only you can make this decision, try all and see which fits you best. XDA isn't a competition website, it is where DEVs can prosper. So please refrain from pinning them up in boxing corners and wanting to see a fight...
Well that was not my intention.
I wanted to get the opinions of those who have the knowledge on how to flash and have tried them all. Then they can tell their thoughts to people who are new to ICS so they can then go on to the threads and make up their own minds.
When I started looking at these with the thought of flashing ICS it was so intimidating. Just finding the right place to go was overwheliming.
I have found most ppl on XDA to be helpful. Not combatative. So if they can post somewhere and give their insights on a non development thread where is the harm?
I'm not arguing with you(not saying it in any special tone, just saying), just let reinbeau make the decision on weather this thread should stay...
And it is up to the user to try all. That is XDA rules.
Fair enough. I certainly don't want to break the rules. Thanks for the heads up and letting me know if I stepped over the line on this one.
There is like 10 other "which is the best rom?" post
did you read any of them??
Flash ALL the roms and chose for yourself!
You make the choice

Wassup guys, just wanted to see if anyone can suggest what they believe to be the "Best Eclair ROM" right now. I am currently using Manups Eclair ROM v. 1.5 which is good and all but it is also the only Eclair ROM I've tried and I don't really feel like flipping through all these Eclair ROMs so if anyone can be so kind as to suggest that would be great, so I'll just go with the one everyone suggests more or at least try it...Thanks in advance.
It depends on what you'd like.
I'd recommend trying out KingKlick's eclair ROM and the OpenEclair one too. You might like one of those.

try searching through here.
Macrophage001, what was the point of your response? I found this thread in a Google search because I pretty much asked the same thing the author did. I'm no developer and I don't have time to spend thumbing through the thousands of threads and responses within XDA. In spite of what you may want to believe, it's people like us who make sites like this a success People with questions. In all honesty why can't you just help? Why be a smart ass? I can't convey my frustration enough.
Why? Because part of the site rules are to not ask for the best rom. It doesn't matter whether you are a dev or not, you can still read the first 3-5 pages in the dev forum, download roms, copy them, backup your current, and flash away. Which leads to you formulating your own opinion.
After trying out three different 2.1 roms for Eclair .. I find that Cannon has the best one out, its had the least errors and is lightning fast..

Cannon202's Eclair is def the most stable and fastest Eclair ROM Just needs video support like all the others and it would be my everyday ROM
i personally like king klicks his last the longest
There are several ROMs out there for the Captivate which makes it difficult to select one. Yes I know I could just try each one, but maybe we could have a voting thread. This way it would a least give someone like myself a place to start.
I'm sure all the ROMs are great in their own way. If we can start a thread like that, or just use this one, I'd like to see which ROM the person is voting for along with the reason why they think it's the best one.
It would also be nice to have a locked thread that's only editable by the ROM developer to describe his or her ROM. This would also make it easier to select a ROM to use.
That's why screen shots really help me choose which ROM to try. I don't care if it's the dev or just someone who has tried the ROM and wants to post how it looks. Yes, I want the ROM to be snappy, but I also care about the UI.
I like your idea, but it's almost like asking what flavor of ice cream (or froyo? ) is the best: everyone has an opinion and no one is truly 100% correct since it all boils down to personal preference.
Ill start. Axura then di11igaf

Sorry guys we dont do best rom threads or voting polls as there is No BEST rom just best for you. I am gonna close this up as if you would have done a search you would have found the thread that was already started and closed.
Poll : Which Custom Rom you are running?
Not trying to be funny, but many people here change roms more than they changed their underwear. So the poll will be flawed.
Very true. I was on Doc's a couple days ago, then went to Darky's 9.5, and yesterday changed to Simply Galaxy Sweet Honey
1) Is this post development? I don't think so.
2) Is this post necessary? I don't think so.
3) As previously stated, is this poll accurate? I don't think so.
Why bother?
Yes you are right that people are always on the move.....I know this will be not 100% accurate but at least at this instance of time it can give us an idea (say 80% accuracy) about Market Trend (means popularity of rom) at this time (lets say Mar/Apr 2011) with current available ROMs. It may change in a month or two. But then in next quarter we may run another poll...

This thread should be in General.. that's why you'll not have a good answer here. (It's typically "noobish" to post questions or poll here, unless it's for developping something by yourself or with some dudes..)
And, on my opinion that's useless, all custom rom or more or less the same : A Sammy Rom deodexed and zipaligned, changements are tweaks... it's made me laugh when in themes OP specify it's for Doc's or Darkyy (of course it will works on both, only version/region is important).
For me no matter which rom you're using, it's Android.
If there is just one difference, it's between CM/MIUI AOSP based roms and Sammy'roms.
Same for kernels, it's just more or less functions and geeking/tweaking.

You are wrong! I will be very happy! Oh btw, a full general is only a 4-star general. maybe you can become a field marshal?
I'm way past on jealousy.
Your doing it wrong, missing some of the major roms.. Loving the hate in this thread btw. Good to know XDA is not only about sharing is caring, love, puppies and nuclear war.

I'm not surprised that once again the mods have failed to do the job and move this non development thread to general.
except for a few angry ones.....which i don't mind...... a lot of people are giving their votes.....the results are like an open book......It's everyone's personal choice...For the people by the people......

You the kind of poster that only makes this forum section worse.
And this kind of thread violate the forum rules. So think one more time before posting junk in dev section.
C'mon guys some more votes & we can get some representative picture here....that what our community is actually using....

No point in having this thread. Every rom has its rights and user. You can try and find out yourself. There are only handful of ROMs. Important thing is still 4.2.1 is not that ready yet. If you want, try OFFICIAL NIGHTLIES FROM CM10.1 or Asylum(cm10.1) or Stunner 2.0(AOKP) which I have used before. I might have missed out some here but never tried them. My choice would be a Stunner... . Please feel free to try them and find out yourself rather than somebody suggesting you to. After all they are here to download and try. Good luck.

First, wrong section.. You are asking questions so this should be in the q&a
Second, that's very subjetive questions.. The rom that has it all and it's the best thing that ever happened in my life... Could be the worst piece of crap for you.. So go find out by yourself
Tapatalking on my n7000
C'mon guys, can we show a bit more love here?
I don't think this should be in Q&A, as it's a question that's meant to generate discussion and comment. It could easily have been rephrased as - "Comparisons between 4.2.1 ROMS". It doesn't have a question mark at the end, so now it's OK even though it would be discussing the same thing? Or it could have been a "POLL: Best 4.2.1 ROM", and it'd be ok?
And yes, we can tell people to go try all the ROMs out there, but what's the harm in someone asking for other users comments on their experiences? Afterall, isn't this meant to be a place of discussion? I've found it enormously useful to have discussions like the OP is asking for, and it'd be a shame that these discussions don't take place anymore.
To try to contribute to the OP's question - I've used Asylum and have loved it. It has saved my Note. Had been very frustrated with the lag that came with the TW ROMs but now it's brought my Note back to life again. I've been wanting to try Stunner, and based on Galaxtus' comment that he prefers Stunner the most, I will give that ROM a try too. (So thank you, Galaxtus for that very helpful comment!).
official CM 10.1 of course.

As with all "best" threads, there is no best. You need to try some out, and see which one is best for you.
Hey folks,
the title says it all - I'm looking for the best ROM for daily usage for my wife :cyclops:
Right now she owns a HTC Sensation with CM 10.2 from Albinoman (20131028), but it's always a bit laggy and buggy.
So I need a ROM which is really smooth and - the most important thing - has a really good working camera!
Otherwise I know I will run into really big problems
It mustn't be the newest ROM, but the most stable and smoothest - nothing less and nothing more
Any recommendations from you ROM-freaks?
Best regards and thanks in advance for your help

Okay - thanks for...nothing?!
I agree to AndreiLux' answer to the OP of the linked thread.
Why it should not be allowed to ask people about their experiences with one or another ROM
I clearly stated what I'm looking for, and stability and a working camera are truly hard-facts for which I can get recommendations.
Not to bother you...but this really doesn't help anybody.
Best regards

I can advice you to go for The Galaxy Project v11.anything for the Galaxy S3 LTE. (I'm not sure which is the latest version of v11). This is a nice rom based on stock android 4.1.2, very stable and everything works. Do not go to 4.3 yet if you want stability and everything working smoothly.
The reason "Best Rom" threads are not allowed, is because it's "subjective". It can also lead to arguments between devoted fans. Understand, not everybody at XDA is civil. Mostly, but some folks take "fan devotion" to another level and cause serious problems. I won't mention any "Team" roms that frequently troll each other. For this point, "Best Rom" threads get closed unless there is a formal official thread monitored by the moderation team.
My advice is to read the popular threads starting from the last few pages. This gives you an idea of any recent bugs in the recent releases.
Then try a couple.
Although the recent CM. Paranoid Android, AOKP and PacMan roms are nice, they are not for everybody as they can get complicated with options. I myself prefer a more stock based, odex'd ROM. With Xposed mods, custom kernel and some necessary apps.
With that said, this thread will be closed now.
Cheers
MD
