I made a fixed port of Xperia PLAY's launcher from 2.3.2 because I loved its blue and glossy dock, what is changed in update 2.3.4. My question is can anyone sign this for me because I can't. There are two launchers. My port, and an Xperia Home launcher 2.1.0.A.7 mod, they're in the attachments.
Use ZipSigner2 from the market to sign them.

Tried it, but still cannot install. I tried to move the APK to system/app and changed t
he permissions to rw-r--r-- but no success. I also tried to flash it via update.zip but same result.
How can I get my launchers working? Its ok if my port is not working because maybe I messed something up, but the arc home mod? Any help?
Try One Click Apk Signer or search for APKtool or APK Manager and see if they do the job for you.
Sadly still not working, launchers not installed even if i move them to system/app and change permissions.

Im wondering if anyone has a suggestion. I have a themed GMail app and I when I install it, it works, but when I reboot, its being replaced by the themed GMail app from Synergy Rom Nightly 8-12-11. Should I go into the synergy apps and delete the one there. If so can someone tell me how to get there as well? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you fully uninstall any older gmail.apk's with a good uninstaller program, just deleting them doesn't do it sometimes. Make sure you look in data/app and system/app because some apk's install in either, hope this helps.

Check location of installed Gmail apps.
/system/app
/data/app
Standard one should be installed in /system/app
To all:
For those installing themed Gmail (or any other themed app) The Gamil app is acting exactly as it should. Upon installing another themed Gmail, it will be usable and appear that all is well. Upon reboot it goes back to Dark Horse's or Stock Gmail app?
Well it's not the ROM's or the themes fault at all. If you get a themed app(or in this case) Silver's gmail inverted, you will notice that his name of his apk is "Test_blue_inverted_GM something something. Well when you install this is install as such and the adndroid system will link to that one without a reboot. Thi sis correct and completely normal. Where the problem you perceive as the ROM's or theme's problem is simple. Both the ROM and Theme use the correct naming stucture called Gmail.apk, Silvers does not. So upon reboot the icon links to Gmail as it should, which in effect to you it apears that the old one re-installed itself. It in fact did not.
Solution:
1. Rename Silver's Themed apk to Gmail.apk and it will overwrite the current one.
2. Uninstall gmail first then install Silver's.
Easy cheesy folks.

This is Zeam launcher 3.1.10 with the home icon shown in the app drawer being removed. As I hate duplicates, and always map in zeam's settings the home button of my ob as the app drawer one, I just removed it by dropping an empty file. Supporting lcd density changes (modded hdpi & mdpi).
So here you get 2.8.8 (last version suporting scrollable widgets) and 3.1.10 (current as I'm typing) in apk and flashable zip, but no removing already installed one. No more installation fail as I tried...
Of course all credits to Mickael Bentz, zeam's dev (thank you guy). If he comes here, may he please forgive me for not asking permission as this mod is just nothin... PM and I'll remove.
I just wanted to post something back after downloading so much great stuff...
Thank you all. Xda's ob guys rock!
PS: If one braver than me can edit xmls to store the home button config as default in the apk... it'd be cool...
PSbis: Original thread
I am unable to install attached apk
Easiest way to custom it your own on later releases: with winrar, drop an empty file called home_button_normal.png into /res/drawable-hdpi of your freshly downloaded zeam... you'll get no home button in app drawer.
You can also replace icons by yours to unify your icon theme. For the OB, just check /res/drawable /res/drawable-hdpi /res/drawable-land-hdpi. Last one is landscape.
Do it for /res/drawable-mdpi and /res/drawable-land-mdpi if use a changed lcd density.
Others folders are filled with xmls if you're a tought guy...
@_jis_: should work now...
Glad if I helped. Enjoy.
I am still unable to install attached apks. Aren't the apks selfsigned only for your phone? Am I only one who try it install?

I don't understand, if I modify *.apk it'll not work anymore. It must be resigned. But I don't know how to do it.
Try use zipsigner2, available on market to resign the apk.
I have problem with signing modified apk, so I just did this test:
I downloaded original zeamlauncher-3.1.10.apk. I didn't modify this file. I was able to install this file.
Then I launched ZipSigner 2, I set input/output files and signed the file.
I am unable to install signed file, I get message Application not installed.
What I did wrong?
I have Samsung Galaxy W with stock ROM 2.3.6 version.
Edit: Finally I got it.
Despite the fact that I can reinstall original Zeam with original Zeam apk without problem, it is impossible to do reinstall with edited and re-signed Zeam apk. First I must uninstall Zeam and then I can install re-signed apk.
I'll update zips with a wipe of the installed version and testkey signed apks... this evening... may be...

I encountered an error "Application Not Installed" on my Xperia W8 with a GingerDX ROM (this problem comes with gingerxperia too....not yet tried on other ROMS)
The apk file i tried to install is Xperia Arc Launcher. I know that on my phone, i already have a "Home.apk" on it with actually should be replaced with this xperia arc launcher while installing. I tried uninstalling my default Home.apk from the system/app/ directory and then install my apk but still the same problem occurs.
The screenshots of the problem i encounter are attached below.
Please suggest a way out from this frustrating problem as i m keen to use this launcher and want it.
Thanks and Regards !

BTW, I would be pressing every thanx button for every reply!

Hi Bro,
All you have to do is to install another laucher, like Laucher pro, Switch to it, and then install your Xperia Arc Laucher. After install, remove default browser settings under Settings>Applications and press home button and choose your desired laucher and mark as default. To finalize, remove the Laucher Pro that you´ve installed.
Tip: You won´t update your running laucher, since it is in use
I have this problem too. Not all xperia can be installed on our phone. Try to find xperia launcher which design for mdpi (HVGA). Now i use xperia s launcher and it looks better.

3. copy& paste files which you want using root explorer(or other apps which has same function)
4. Give permission...
( Some apps might not working because framework related..)
5. reboot&enjoy
edit :
I just noticed that there is flashable zip file which works in NS cm nightlies

Dude the zip file you mentioned in the OP does not work. I check it and the framework is not built for NS devices.
I dont know how you got them to work on your devices. If you dont mind please share the way you did. Cause i just flashed it thru CWM but nothing happened.

Hello, I have a problem. I wanted to change one icon theme. I used to apk Manager theme later, but unfortunately does not install, I opened desperate. Apk using 7zip and swapped the icon but the effect of the same theme does not install. I could ask someone to help you when you change the icon? Icon is called "stat_notify_musicplayer" I wanted to exchange for a red icon audio beats.
All I added in the Attachments. Thank you for your help
