AP Fastboot Flash Mode Boot Loop Fix - Motorola Droid Bionic

If this is a redundant post feel free to remove it.
I tried to install the new ICS rom posted here on XDA recently and ended up in an AP Fast Boot Loop.
After trying all of the back to stock versions i have saved for use with RSDLite 5.6 . None of them would get past step #6/20 before the process failed.
I finally came across this link on Droid Forums. I downloaded the NEWVRZ-XT875-55893XT875 file and it worked like a charm in RSD Lite 5.6. It did take me back to stock so i will have to install all my stuff but after messing with this for about 5 hours i am a happy camper again. i keep telling myself no more ROMS but........also this put me on the OTA update track as well.
Hope this helps someone, like a said if this doesnt belong here

Rooting ???

TRied z4, cant us 3rd party installs, tried superone click and does nothing, tried the othert one click and it sits on the little blue screen saying my phone should be rebooting but my phone just sits there ?
can someone please HELP!!!
This should be moved to q&a before they eat you.
the first two methods you mentioned should work if you followed instructions correctly

It might be due to the computer not recognizing the phone properly?
You will probably have to end up replacing 3e recovery if your friend is already at 2.2. I always just 1Click back to stock and install a custom ROM from there. The only other ways I have seen involve replacing the stock kernel with a rooted kernel using Odin (the non-1click version), which can quickly ruin your friendship if any problems are encountered. Nothing else that I have seen will work with 3e.
Here is the 1Click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884364 look at step 2, worked perfectly for me.
If you want to take fun way, forget rooting, just use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944418 and install custom rom that comes with root(all of them)
Either way, happy hunting
if you follow this it should work no problem.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
reason super one click isnt working is probably because your phone is not in USB debugging mode
And you shouldn't double post the same question clogs up the thread

Need help going back to stock

I have a bionic that i system updated to 5.9.902 a couple days after i got it. Then i made the mistake of coming here and messing up my phone because i have no idea what I'm doing
I installed safestrap and did the whole noob step by step guide. Installed eclipse and a couple other roms. For some reason i wiped my internal and external storage. I have no backups of anything.
I've tried releasedroot, petes, rds lite with the 902 xml. I got stuck all the time with what seemed to be a driver issue.
I just want to return this thing to stock and stop messing with it
As of now when I press power i go straight to ap fast boot flash failure screen. I press power to power off and hold vol up and down to boot into recovery but just pick the normal boot option. Phone then boots into what seems to be my stock 902. I dont know if im rooted anymore.
If i could rid my phone of this flash failure and safestrap, i would be stupid happy
Anyone out there willing to help a total noob? If any more info is needed I'd be happy to provide

What error did you receive using rsdlite?
When you go into your phone settings..can you verify your on 902?
I'm at work now but it was some sort of usb failure. It got stuck on 1/22 mbm something.
Yes as of right now im on 902.
Is there a tutorial on how to completely remove usb drivers? Even though rsdlite says I'm connected, I don't see my phone drivers in device manager. That's where I think I'm going wrong but not really sure.

Bootloop after ICS nono!

So I tried to flash the 229 while still on 2233 but of course it didn't work. I then tried to flash the 902 using the pathsaver and and stuck in bootloop. I can access recovery though and other flashing tools. All I have access to is my laptop running Ubuntu because I'm 1000 miles from home. Any help here?
Your best bet is going to be flashing back to 902 using your cmd prompt and flashing each item one by one. I had to do that while i was out training in the middle of nowhere. It takes a little longer, but works. There also use to be a tool for linux/mac sort of like rsd but all the links i found when i was training were dead links, hence why i flashed each item seperatly.

I feel like an idiot because just last year I was manually flashing other peoples Bionics, but I don't remember how to do it. Do you know of any walkthroughs?

here's a link you can try
http://www.droidhive.com/forums/index.php?/topic/87-902-bionic-pathsaver-for-windowslinuxmac/
i usually use windows but this link have linux/mac version too
good luck
Those are both great links, thats where i found most of my info for recovering mine when i bricked it. I lost everything on mine. I only had fastboot... lol. I ended up actually taking a little info from multiple topics then pieced it all together and managed to accomplish what i needed. There wasnt any specific topic that worked 100% for me, not to mention all the dead links i ran into for almost everything i needed to do it within linux/OSX/Mac

I appreciate that but the link to the files are dead. Somebody needs to make a new legal hosting site lol. As a side note, I pulled the SD card and put a couple of update files on it then booted into recovery. From here I was able to flash both updates with zero issues, however the bootloop still remains. WTH??
I fixed it. I pulled the SD card and put both the 905 and 229 update on it. I then placed it back into the phone, booted recovery and flashed both updates (flashed 905 rebooted still bootloop, then flashed 229 rebooted). My Bionic is currently booting up now. Made it past the Dual Core screen fairly quickly too!
Let us know if it finished loading and if your good to go. If not i can see what i can do about uploading the files i used if i still have them. I know i do on my mac but that is in a connex on its way to me from fort irwin at the moment, but i think i saved most of them on my tablet too.

[P1000] Tried to flash JB, now everything is a mess...

Hello there guys!
I tried to flash my Samsung Galaxy Tab (P1000) from ICS to JB yesterday, but it wen’t wrong and now everything is a mess
It all started with that that CWM didn’t start up properly when I tried to get in there. “Screw this”, I said, and tried to find another CWM to flash. I didn’t end up very well that either when I went from CWM 6.0.X.X to CWM 3. The recovery told me that everything was unreadable and I couldn’t do a damn thing.
So there I was, sitting on my chair, wondering what I was supposed to do. My conclusion was to flash the tab with GB stock firmware, and so I did. But even that screwed up since Odin reported “FAIL!” and that is where I am right now.
The stock recovery tells me that it “failed to mount /data”. I guess it’s my internal SD that’s been messed up.
So what do you recommend me to do? Since I can enter Download Mode and the stock recovery (which though is quite unusable), I guess this is nothing more than a soft brick, so I'm not that worried, but it's tiring that it won't work propely.
Any hints, guys?
Already use overcome method?
The link is in my signature

Charlie, I had similar experience and in frustration and panic I resorted to GB_Stock_Safe_v1 and it rebooted and I had a new clean system on the tab. Actually it didn't reboot as expected after ODIN was finished. With the yellow download symbol still on the screen I had to unplug it and close and reboot manually.
Make sure to include modem.bin in PHONE or you will get NO SIM card error.
Set it up like this in ODIN
PIT - gt-p1000_mr.pit
PDA - GB_Stock_Safe_v1.tar
PHONE - modem.bin
You have to find the correct modem.bin from one of the folders in the GB_Stock_Safe_v1.ZIP
If you have success then insert 001007-Overcome_v2.0.1_HERMES_Wipe.zip into top level of your sdcard then into recovery and install then it should boot OK.
Any trouble locating the files or further suggestions just come back.
Stock safe v1 is so old. Hermes is old too.
Follow my signature for latest one.

They may be old but anyone with a soft brick is just looking for a bailout and they do that very well.
In fact after rescuing my broken tab with these oldies I went into recovery with
Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe.zip
and it worked without any problems, so I unbricked and got the latest firmware.
You know where to get your oldies?

Hi priyana,
I am unable to locate them on the net now but if needed I could post them here.
I am never going to trash them that's for sure.
You are right in recommending Overcome, longbreak, but why would you want to use v1, especially if it's not even available on the net anymore? If someone wants to recover from a soft brick, just follow priyana's link, and you will find v5. This is the latest version, and I'm sure it will work just as well, if not better.
Thanks, I will try that next time. Only reason is I had version 1 and 3 for some reason and when I was trying to save my brick version 3 would not work for some reason and version 1 worked so It's really academic whether to use 1, 3 or 5. Whatever works does the trick and then it opens the gate to get to the higher level.
I disagree that it is merely academic.
V5 was the last version team overcome packed, and it made a very reliable baseline.
By saying that , I mean v1 will work for some, v3 for others, but v5 for all.
