You have to root your Note prior to flashing custom Roms. You'll find a useful guide to rooting your phone here.
After you're done with rooting there's at least a dozen custom Roms for you to chose from. Visit their respective threads and get acquainted with their features.
Flashing is the easiest part, you'll see.
No fully functioning Miui rom so far, but one will make an appearance before very long.
And welcome to the Note community. You're in good hands here.

The telus one is different than the international version....look for the at&t forum for the note on xda...
Will I see this phone for sale on sporfsfreaksonline or red flag deals in 2 weeks mr.kakarot???

[Q] How to deal with Australia Telstra S3 4g

Dear,
I would like to get some information,
I would like to know is there any difference in rooting testra's s3 4g (i9305t) compared to international i9305
How to root and does it void my warranty? and also how to tackle with warranty if in any case i have installed custom rom or rooted my device.
And also what is the best custom rom available for this (I9305T) device.
Pls dear guide me,
Thanks in adv.
i just picked one up on saturday. rooting is extremely easy. following the guides in the dev section for i9305 NOT I9300. make sure u follow the stickies first to make backups of important artitions, IMEI etc.
Im currently running supreme rom. Do NOT try and fly a rom for i9300.
You can use exynos abuse to easily root but use the stickies to install cwm
Pls let me know my other question in the first thread.
Thanks in adv.
all of your questions can be answered by searching, there's nothing new here.
the i9305T can be rooted same way as the i9305
yes it will void your warranty
flash stock telstra ROM and use a USB jig or triangle away for warranty returns
best custom ROM? you're kidding.. right?
I plan on rooting the same phone here, proble is there's so much information all ove rthe place and you don't know where to download from where and so on...
There's some guides in the development forum for sgs3 though that are a bit more helpful...
Thanks for ur guide.
There are lots of information available, bt we always have to think twice before playing with the phone.
There are many issues in which some ppl lost there imei, and so.
So I ask here what is best to root the phone,
Everyone said that there are lot of apps available for rooting, but pls can u suggest me, which method is best of all,
Pls.
Thanks dear.

New to the Nexus devices. Couple questions.

Hi I just picked up my N6 for Sprint. So far just stock this thing is so smooth. I came from the Note 4. Ive never owned a nexus phone so I just wanted to ask a few questions. I see the root videos on Youtube. Because its a nexus does anyone one video work for all the carriers? After you have root and custom recovery does any ROM work with the Sprint variant of the N6. Hate to sound like a noob, but I am I guess. Thanks for the help!

Yes....any rom for any carrier. I also came from the Note 4 after a month with it and have no regrets. Development is insane [emoji6]
Check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/how-to-nexus-6-one-beginners-guide-t2948481 it will walk you through unlocking, rooting, roms and recoverys. Once you have your custom recovery, like TWRP, you can make a nandroid backup. Then you can flash away and if you don't like it or have issues, you can restore from that nandroid. Welcome and good luck.

Thank you so much!
I highly commend @jackpollard that he didn't suggest using a toolkit. They're very dangerous to use in the long-run and doesn't contribute to learning a simple task to do.
Welcome to a nexus device schnergun. Ask any questions if any arise
I would use the stickied nexus everything guide as well. I was unlocked, rooted, recovery custom in like an hour after I got the phone. This thing is butter so far
Nothing wrong with toolkits

old dog needs new tricks..new to flashing samsung devices

Obviously like the title saysim new to flashing samsung devices, i have flashed lots of nexus devices and a few motorola and some tablets, but never used odin until i rooted the note 4.
My questions pertain to flashing a new rom. Id like to find one that keeps as much of the features of the phone as possible id even like to keep touchwiz surprisingly ..i always thought touchwiz was nothing special and just cuased the phone to have less performance but that was going by others statements reading about samsung devices in the past...
really im just not sure what roms i can flash or if it matters what build i have now and what roms i flash from it.
can i flash any rom in tmobile note 4 sections, and i also have a unlocked tmobile device that is running on net 10 wwith at&t towers i dnt kno if that makes a difference. Not sure if i need to flash certsin kernel or modem or anything else ive read a bunch, but its going to take forever to read thru everything. The help is appreciated thanks in advance
Make sure you are on the newest baseband. I believe it is NK4. If you have that you can Fila ah any of the ROMs in the Tmobile note 4 development section. I recommend FireKat, if you want to keep TW.
it's pretty simple. Samsung phones are fairly development friendly and pretty tough to jack up.

Here are the rooting steps.

I'd also recommend firekat for your first rom.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A battery efficient Custom Roms

Can someone suggest Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A battery efficient Custom Roms
currently it is giving me 3hour SOT i want more it is not enough. please help and also include link to the custom rom Page
Maybe you should research and you'll find the rom that fits what you need..Not many phone guru's here that invested tons of research reading through countless pages and staying updated with the Rom of there choice...No one can mind read, And I'm quite sure what I like you may not. I would suggest doing what 98%of this community does and search and find what you like... Then you can find a link.. And supply it here..
Does the phone have a locked bootloader? If it does, the number of custom ROMs will be limited.
Yes it does but the good news is all that you need is Towel root and use that to it to root your phone .... that is all that I ever use to root my n900a . Just Click on the make it rain and let it do its' job .... just one button and just one root.

Help with rooting

I've got a Samsung Galaxy note 9 Verizon 512gb. I paid a good amount of money for it and have yet to find a app(bought or free) a proper safe way without loosing major functions etc. I NEED A SOLID ROOTING PROCESS PLEASE WITH NO QUESTIONABLE BRICKS, FUNCTION LOSS, ETC. I'VE YET TO FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH ANYONE'S PROCESS.

Sorry, you should have done your research. The Verizon Note 9 cannot be rooted. Probably will never be able to be. The only way to have a rooted Note 9 on Verizon is to buy the international Snapdragon (9600) and bootloader unlock it to flash firmware that will work. If you do buy a 9600, check the Snapdragon development section.

Please do some research. The N960U/U1 cannot be rooted. There's folks working on it, but there's nothing concrete as yet.currently only the Exynos and N9600 can be rooted
