Hey!
Just a quick question, when you start up your phone and you get the Samsung splash screen before the ROM begins to load up. How long does it normally take? When I boot up my phone it gets into the firmware really fast, but it's the splash screen that takes a long time to load up.
I remember that it used to show the splash screen for around 3-5 seconds the start to load the ROM but now it can take anywhere from between 10 seconds to 30 seconds.
Any help or thoughts would be awesome!
Scotty!
when the first time i get my phone, it boot up really really fast, but after some times, it need longer time to boot up compared to first time i get my phone.
maybe you have more stuff inside your phone, so it may take longer time to load the rom. Just my 2 cents.
My phone booted fast until I installed a bunch of apps.
I also only turn my phone off every 4 or 5 days, so when it boots again, the splash screen stays on for 15 - 20 seconds.

Hey,
I have a Bell SGS, totally stock. It's suddenly become incredibly slow.
I haven't installed any new apps recently, or changed any settings.
When I press an icon, any icon here is what happens:
- I put my finger on the icon and let go, nothing happens for 2 seconds.
- The icon goes 'dark' like it is being depressed, stays that way for about 3 seconds
- The icon finally gets 'clicked' and I get the 'ding' sound
- The screen goes black with only status bar for about 5 seconds
- finally the app will show up, but if I press anything, it is unresponsive
- the app will become responsive after about 5 more seconds
- If I click a text box (like in stock messaging app), it freezes for another 4-5 seconds, the keyboard doesn't come up
- Finally the keyboard will come up.
ALSO:
- The phone app takes ages to launch.
- Anytime there is a screen to scroll, the scrolling is unresponsive for the first few seconds, its painful
- pressing the home button takes ages to bring me to home screen
- Often the phone just locks up and I can't turn the screen on, have to do a battery pull (once a day or so), I can't figure out what is causing it.
There are no apps running while this is happening, I looked at all running processes and everything seems normal, nothing hogging CPU.
Reboots don't fix it, it comes back just as slow
All the haptic feedback is way late, sometimes the little buzzes get queued up, so it wont do anything, then all of a sudden it will buzz 10 times in a row as it catches up with the button presses
Samsung email (which I use because I like how it handles multiple accounts) is the slowest program in the phone. When it loads up, I click on one of my accounts, it takes literally 30 seconds to load the messages. Then I still can't scroll for another 10 seconds, its agonizing. Switch to the other account? Another 30 seconds. Both accounts are set to keep emails from the last 14 days (not that much).
So, what the hell is going on? I took it to the Bell store, and even with the stupid warranty, they said "well, its still working, so theres nothing we can do"
My N7 was sitting in front of me on my desk, and it made a noise very similar to the USB disconnect noise in Windows 8, which is something i have never heard any android device make. I picked it up, and the backlight was on, but not the screen. The lock button was not responsive, so i proceed to reset it. Also unresponsive. I held down both vol buttons and power for several seconds, and the "Google" splash screen appeared, but it did not enter recovery. The boot logo appeared, and it sat there looping for about 3 minutes (considerably longer than normal), then the screen shut off and individual pixel started flashing, like static cling in the dark. I hooked it up to my comp, i have no adb access. It's unresponsive during boot and while it's doing the flickering thing. I can repeat this cycle of splash screen, boot logo, then wild flickering each time, but cannot get adb regardless.
I was running Franco kernel with stock rom, no overclocking or anything, flashed shortly after i got. It's been faultless for months. I'm almost certain it's toast so i'm not expecting salvation from XDA, but thought i'd get some input if anyone is curious.

ask franco if fsync is enabled default and if is barrier=0 in the kernel
Try holding in the power button for 45-60 seconds. If that doesn't work then Plug in the unit, and let it try to charge for an hour or two. Then try holding in the power button for 45-60 seconds again.
There seems to be a glitch where the unit will die when the battery is low. Some people have report something similar when the unit was ~23% battery life.
After I installed the update 3.1 for ViperONE on my HTC One did not drop starts, all I see is the logo VIPER ONE. I'm waiting for 50 minutes, tried to restart my phone (pressed volume up and power button) but it does not help.
Please excuse my poor English.
i just installed this same rom. Everything goes well with installation. First boot shows the first logo with ull brightness, the brightness lowers and comes the second logo and says preparing sim card, 2-3 secs later goes back to first logo and says there. left it for more than 30 minutes. trien installing like 5 times. same result

I bought a used Droid Turbo 64 GB and for the second time I am stuck in a situation where the screen went blank and now the device won't boot. I get to the silver/blue "Droid" splash screen where it sits for a moment or so, then the screen goes blank. After the first time I wiped and started over, it worked well for three days. Now it happened again. I tried wiping cache, did not help. I was thinking I could reflash Lollipop and would not lose data this time but can't seem to find the appropriate file to flash. Can someone point me to it, or let me know if that's not the right direction to go? As soon as I get a replacement I am sending this back but would like to try and get it up and running for the next few days.

But is it wise to fix a device you are returning?

Just trying to get it to be usable until I can get a replacement phone.
While I was researching and posting here, I shut the phone off and put it on a charger. It said it was 61%. It got to 98%, I took a chance and powered it on and it got past the splash screen and went through an optimization of 63 apps. Finished and booted. Lasted about 10 mins then went black again and I am stuck.
I'm not sure if this is what your talking about but If you press the power button when it is in sleep mode and you see the clock and notifications but the background is black. If you pull up it should unlock the phone but everything goes black. That happens to me every so often. I reset my whole phone once thinking it was broken. All you have to do is pull down rather then up and the background appears and all is well again.

Thanks for the info but this phone is locking up. We turned off that mode. The screen does black after 1 min (in display settings). In our case, there is no way to get it to come back on. And during reboot, it goes black and never finishes booting.
You're best bet is to flash the stock firmware. http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Droid Turbo&folder=Firmware
i have the same issue, did firmware flash with fastboot and the fix with the verizon software with no results
Ive been using this for 7 months now. I flashed it from CN to WW successfully and was using it for 4 months up to this point. The phone's problem is that it always gets stuck at boot and loops for about 3-4 times before going to a complete state of unresponsiveness (black screen) even with force restart i cant get it to respond and have to wait for several minutes and try lots of times before it responds and it boots and again loops till it proceeds to black screen. It was completely random. I was playing some game till it suddenly freeze and rebooted , that started the loops. Sometimes at the boot screen with the ROG logo it shows strange white lines that wasnt there before, like its glitching. I've already done factory reset and still the same situation.
I sucessfuly entered the phone setup once and used it for like 10 mins after reset then when I rebooted it, it went back to looping and black screen. I hope someone can respond to this, I desperately need help.
