Well I'm facing that annoying problem, the phone gets choppy, don't know why or how, any fixes?
Choppy? Like it runs after you with a kitchen knife?
Or do you mean call sound quality?

Root and flash a kernel. Franco or Abyss make the phone run smoothly.

Sound works.... Most of the time!! HELP Please!!
1st off I am on .901
I am using [K]IN3TX
Ok So I started having this issue out of the blue. Sometimes when I am doing any application that uses sound.... it wont SOUND!!
its rare but it has become a problem.
Twice my alarm has gone off..... but no sound.
I use Youtube most of the time sound... but sometimes video with silence.
Pandora... occasionally it will go to the next song..... No sound. I skip the song and sound is back.
All other applications that use sound including the phone ringing have had this phantom issue with sound.
SO I am at wits end with it. I tried Eclipse. PERFECT. Never a sound drop. Now I AM NOT BLAMING [K]IN3TX.
I think it is somthing that I did to the Rom. I couldnt tell ya what though.
I really dont want to Redo the phone again. Anybody ever had this issue?
Anybody fixed this issue.... simply?
I just dont know what to do with it guys.
Thanks in advance.
Swc2001
Just completely redid the [K]IN3TX ROM on my phone with all of my settings. So far no sign of the anomaly.
Edit: Anomaly came back after overclocking!!
Yes I have vigoursly tested this issue. And Overclocking the Bionic is deffinately the culperit!!
Once you Overclock using the Omapp method and flash the 1.2Ghz .zip is deffinately when the anomaly begins to manifest itself.
Soooo back to 1.0Ghz I go. Sorry Omapp it was cool but not worth not wakin up in the mornings in time for work and constant sound drops with all other applications including pandora, slacker, phone ringing, and texting to just name a few.
Hope this helps someone.
I'm sure most of you will be aware with the horrible sound issue that plagued webos after the 3.0.3 update where the touchpad would cut all sound without notice if headphones were plugged in or out or if you just looked at the device funny..
On cm9 however, I'm experiencing an issue with the sound that is worse. Whilst watching youtube videos or doing any activity where a sound is played, the speaker often "pops" once in the way you can faintly hear speakers even there is no input, regardless of whether headphones are plugged in or not. From then, the speaker no longer plays any sound of any sort.
Does anybody have a fix for this? I just lose sound randomly and sometimes even a reboot doesnt fix it. I know that CM9 is 'fullofbugs' and that the audio libs are a mess/broken, but I would just like to know if this is a common issue with a known fix! Thanks!

*Bump*
I am experiencing this as well running AOKP M4b28 - it only happens (or as much as I've noticed) when the screen goes to sleep while I have music playing.
Glad I'm not the only one.

I have the issue when the screen is off and volume is >= 50% Never had any sound probs with WebOS that I noticed.
From what I've read, it has been addressed and is a know issue. You've got to remember that this wan't meant to be an Android tablet, there WILL be bugs. They might eventually get fixed but, I'm not one to complain, I've got ICS on a tab that was never supposed to have Android to begin with lol
Does anyone know of a way to fix BT audio lag with watching video? I have had this issue on all the roms that I have tried so far.
Is there a script that I can write that would fix this issue?

this is a issue with bluetooth itself. I usually have a little bit of lag when first starting to watch videos, youtube, after about 5-10 minutes, the lag is gone.

Yea, but i remember having this issue with KitKat as well... i remember having the issue with only certain roms those... so my guess, maybe there was something in the code that code be change or maybe something with the kernel that could be change in order to resolve the issue.
The lag is somewhat part of the receiving unit as well. In my Honda Pilot, there is about 5 seconds lag - and it doesn't "go away". My BT headsets there is about a 1-1/2 second delay. My Pioneer home theater has about a 3 second delay.

well thats unfortunate, because i really hate watching videos when there is a lag. Hopefully this issue is fixed in the next iteration of the bluetooth standard.
i had the same lag on lg g3 and my friend's iphone 5, and now the nexus 6. I was using the same headphones to do the test. same thing happened with lg g3 and nexus 6. after a short period of time the lag was gone.
I only get lag when I'm on a cm12 rom. So unfortunately I cannot run one. I am on a stock rooted rom with no issues.

umm, well maybe issue is with AOSP, and Motorola had did something in order to remedy the issue.
Hello,
I have installed CM11 on wifes mini 2, but the sound is very distorted at higher volumes. I read that I should install viper4android, which I have done, but I cant seem to stop the distortion. Also, when I am tweaking settings in Viper, I don't hear any difference. This is in both Apollo and Google Play Music.
Message alerts are also piercing and distorted.
Any help much appreciated
i have just spoken to someone in the cyanogenmod irc and it turns out that the amp in the phone gets put into bypass mode when flashing a non stock rom. They said that there was nothing they can do about it and that, as far as they are aware, there is no fix.
Surprised that no one else has noticed anything with flashed roms.

People did notice it, usually referred to as 'Sound Crackling'. They are right in saying there is no fix ATM. It is one of the things that keeps me away from CM11 and CM12, besides the camera.

Sorry, the camera??? My wife has said that she is pleased with the camera as it is now very responsive. To be honest the sound is not a major issue, it is only really noticable when the volume is cranked up high. A little lower and it is still better than my nexus 5.

The camera app is what troubles me. I still have not found a replacement for the stock sense camera app in my usage scenario
I have an issue with recording snaps on snapchat while running any CM13 ROM. The video playback comes out very loud and sounds like it was recorded in the 1940s. I am not sure how it sounds on the viewers end. Has anyone experienced the same or similar problem?
I have the same issue. Pretty much happens with any ROM except stock.

If I could find a fix for this issue I'd probably never use stock again.
