Does anyone know of a way to fix BT audio lag with watching video? I have had this issue on all the roms that I have tried so far.
Is there a script that I can write that would fix this issue?

this is a issue with bluetooth itself. I usually have a little bit of lag when first starting to watch videos, youtube, after about 5-10 minutes, the lag is gone.

Yea, but i remember having this issue with KitKat as well... i remember having the issue with only certain roms those... so my guess, maybe there was something in the code that code be change or maybe something with the kernel that could be change in order to resolve the issue.
The lag is somewhat part of the receiving unit as well. In my Honda Pilot, there is about 5 seconds lag - and it doesn't "go away". My BT headsets there is about a 1-1/2 second delay. My Pioneer home theater has about a 3 second delay.

well thats unfortunate, because i really hate watching videos when there is a lag. Hopefully this issue is fixed in the next iteration of the bluetooth standard.
i had the same lag on lg g3 and my friend's iphone 5, and now the nexus 6. I was using the same headphones to do the test. same thing happened with lg g3 and nexus 6. after a short period of time the lag was gone.
I only get lag when I'm on a cm12 rom. So unfortunately I cannot run one. I am on a stock rooted rom with no issues.

In a video in 1080p on the outside, the video will look and hear perfectly. The problem comes when a video is recorded inside a house for example. If you record a video in total silence, when playing the video if you put the volume up will listen very weak one "shhh" If you record a video with a TV background with the TV volume on the sound sounded choppy. Or if ye are silent recording, you begin to talk, you will notice a change to play between silence and sound.
I leave some videos from youtube where you will notice the problem (play with the volume as high as possible to notice more the problem):

"Hi everyone, I know you're curious about the Android 4.4.1 update. Although the update does include camera improvements and other bug fixes, it does not address the audio issue mentioned in this discussion. I'd like to assure you that we are still working on it -- the information you've provided has been quite helpful, and we've reproduced it ourselves. We're still investigating improvements, however any potential updates will have to wait for a future release.
I'm sorry I don't have happy news to share at this time. I would again like to thank all of you for your assistance tracking this down, and for your continued patience during our investigation."
Same here, my nexus is a new one , 5 days old.

I've got the same problem.
Updated to 4.4.2 right now, but can't test as it's night atm.

This happens to me as well. Not just when recording, but most annoyingly when talking to people on the phone. They complain that my sound is cutting out like the videos shown above, even though I hear them perfectly.
I am on stock 4.4.2 and my n5 does have the issue with audio in video rec. I am on fauxClock b15.

I have exactly the same problem. I had it on 4.4.0 and I still have it on 4.4.2.
The hissing on silence in audio/video recordings is really annoying.
I hope this can be fixed...

Same problem here :crying: it has to be a software problem, can't be a hardware issue in all devices. I love the phone! but for me this is a deal breaker :crying:
Was trying to test this for myself but mine won't save videos at all. Bizarre, probably a consequence of messing with the camera software.
Speaker Volume starts loud then decreases. This happens when playing any media through speakers. I've tried different roms and the issue continues to persist. Has anyone else had this problem. Any feedback or solution would be greatly appreciated.

its a mostly aosp bug, you are missing files. itll be there until your roms fix the issue.
In having the same issue.
This occurs on stock and custom roms so if it's a bug then it's effecting stock too.
Just got my phone and i have the same sad issue.... When i play music through the speakers and turn the vol all the way up its loud then immediately fades to low volumes.
I cannot get a constant play of any media at full volume
I am completely stock unrooted
Any solutions? Or should I send this thing back?

do you know how to fix that ? any link to a commit or sth. ? building omnirom for myself, and i wasn't able to figure the problem out...
I have the same issue on CM12. Couldn't comment on stock as I used it for all of 10 mins.
Seems there is some kind of audio normalization service running in the background. Doing a pretty crappy job of it.
Software issue it seems. I'm surprised there haven't been more reports of this. Its getting quite annoying. Finally I have front facing speakers on my phone and what does it do? Lowers the volume to half.

Just had this freaky thing happen to me today, for the first time since I've had the phone which I have had for over 2 months now. Stock and unrooted. It did not do it to me before today that I ever noticed so I don't know what to make of it. But I hope it may be software related but who knows.
I ended up RMA'ing my device and the new one doesn't do this on the stock ROM or third party (tested SlimLP) so I am thinking it might be more of a hardware issue. Will check to see if my 64GB MB does this as well, but so far the replacement phone has fixed this annoying issue and volume stays the same while playing youtube video's / music.
RMA was painless dealing with Motorola direct, even though I bought the phone through AT&T, and with Advanced RMA it only took over the weekend (RMA started on Friday afternoon) and the device showed up today. Couldn't have been more pleased with the ease of this.
Try viper 4 android. It fixed my volume issue.

I thought I was imagining this when it happened a few times, then I was blaming poor quality music streams but evidently there is an issue. It also happens occasionally with my headphones.

I just bought a Nexus 6 - hope it doesn't have this problem.
I currently have this issue, volume is dropping more than 50% after like 2 seconds at full volume. From what I could read from all over the forums, it really looks like a hardware issue, it's pretty random. Guess my N6 is going back to my carrier as soon as I can get to them when they're open!
I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with their speakers on the Nexus 6 when receiving calls or messages?
Randomly my ringtones & notifications come in crackling as if the speakers are blown. It doesn't happen much but it's kinda annoying. I think the speakers are fine because playing music or watching videos at max volume sounds great.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated
I have also had this issue. I'm running stock rooted with no mods. Would like to hear If anyone else is having this issue as well. Also would this issue be addressed in the new 5.0.1 update?
I am having issues hearing the conversion tone when sending or receiving messages via WhatsApp. The notification rings but within a chat it doesn't play any sound. Is this happening to anyone else? It's driving me crazy.
Same thing here. Especially with FB Messenger.
There definitely seems to be some static or degradation on some of the notification sounds and ringtones. I noticed the same thing.
I think it has an overactive EQ/Preamp type of ordeal going on. I think there is some sort of software built in that is trying to act like a DSP to save the speakers. For Example just turn up your volume to max and keep hitting the up volume. You will probably notice the volume beep will change volume several times throughout that. it will also be noticeable when playing music.
I have also noticed some strange crackling that I never had on previous Nexus devices. I am certain it is software and hope for an update to resolved it. I also noticed that many of the things going through the speakers slowly get louder. For instance, hit the speakerphone button while in a call and it starts at like 50% volume and goes to max in about 5 seconds. Kind of a strange fade up that I haven't had before...

I am having an issue with the stereo speakers on my Nexus 6. Every time I listen to music, watch a you tube video or watch a movie on my nexus 6 device, I notice that when I put it on maximum volume it will get loud then suddenly drop down to between 30 to 50%. I'm not sure what is the deal with that, but I can tell you its freaking annoying. Also been having issues with the fade in as well.
Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

anyone had this issue sorted yet. today i noticed while using speaker phone there is a static sound and low voice volume any ideas
Viper did not fix the issue
I'm thinking its hardware as I have tried stock and benzo ROM. Nothing seems to fix my low volume issue
Mine does this after flashing kernels or roms sometimes. A clean flash back to stock then reflash rom/kernal with extreme beats fixes it. I've had 3 nexus 6s and they all did this. Even when I flash stock image it don't sound quite right until I flash extreme beats 4.1. Viper has only caused problems for me.
Crackle is noticeable
I noticed the crackle sound straight out of the box simply by testing out some ringtones. This had me disappointed but even worse if I start to think I got a defective unit. It's weird because the problem does not happen very often and it's an issue that I can't demonstrate so easily, but it's there. Reading this post about people having the same problems makes me believe that there could be a update or software solution. By the way, playing music sounds great, the thing happens mostly with game sounds and ringtones.
I have the nexus 6 for 2+ months
Stock, Unrooted
Sometimes when I'm In the google now page I get a stuttering lag , also when I pull down the status bar It sometimes lag.
Apps like Instagram, Whatsapp, Youtube gets that stuttering lag too.
Even when I just slide the screen in the app drawer It lags sometimes.
Next issue, When I received my nexus 6 my speakers were loud when the volume was at about 50 that It was very very loud when I was playing music with full volume
But now when I play songs at full volume its just feels like the sound quality got softer.. I don't really know how to call it.. It's like the quality got downgraded
How can it be fixed?

Hi,
I bought a new N7+. But I noticed that whenever I plug my headphones, the music starts playing through the speaker instead of the heaphones. I tried with various headphones that I have. Has this happened to others too? Is there a fix for it? Do you think this is hardware issue or software bug?
Have returned the phone in warranty and awaiting a new one.
Please do let me know.
Same issue. But it happened only after the May update. The issue goes away if you reboot the phone with the headset plugged in.

I'm not sure about Android P, but this is most certainly a software issue. It only started after I applied the May security patch.
Haven't had time to escalate this to Nokia yet, but when I do I'll updated here what they had to say.

Do you think this is happening to many other users too? Because I didn't find any thread related to this so thought it's only me & a faulty piece.
This is quite a serious bug if software related and if it's been 3 months already, surprising that no one's talking about it. the 3.5mm jack is one of the most important reasons why I went for this & didn't wait for the MI A2.
I think the only reason this isn't a big deal is because the issue is random. It happens to me once in 2-3 days.
Strangely enough, today it happened while I was connected to my car via Bluetooth. The audio was playing on the phone's speakers. But a re-start fixed it.
Yeah same thing happening to me also is there any solution?

On the 1st day that I got the phone it happened to me 4 times in 24 hours. But I guess it's because I am always on my headphones throughout the day.
I can't keep restarting the phone every single time it happens.
Same goes for bluetooth. I have to lower the volume every time I start the music because sometimes it just does not route the audio to the headset. Had a couple of embarassing moments in the office... Also noticed that if I watch a movie and switch between apps back and forth, when I resume the playback the phone starts to play the audio on both the phone and on the headset for a couple of seconds, also very anoying..
