[Q] Flashtool - Flash Mode unstable (green light)

Dear,
I've tried almost everything, sry
The problem is simple.
I've an X8 with stock (FW 2.1-update1, Kernel 2.6.29 and Build 2.1.1.A.0.6) and I'm trying to put it on ICS with MiniCM9.
The first thing I did was Root with SuperOneClick. Don!
Second was turn off the phone and install Flashtool and Flashtool drivers also.
Third, I tried to turn the phone into Flash mode and... the phone do not stay in "flash mode". After some seconds the phone reboot and enter in a orange light, instead of the green one.

turn on usb debugging. go to settings then to applications, development and touch where it says USB debugging

i've install superuser first and then i've tried to install the new kernel.
the problem is "stay in flash mode"
the point is: when i put the device in flash mode, it stays for 5 seconds or less and reboot

I made two mistakes, i didn't reboot my pc after installing flashtool and my antivirus was activated. After having rebooting my pc and disabling my antivirus, the flashmode was working.

Hi Juliano i´m from Brasil too, but i don´t know if i can speak portuguese in the forum. But anyway i was having a problem more or less like yours, the problem was not really the light in the flashtool, but with the error when i tried to flash any kernel, the message is equal that you post in your log: ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR"ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS"ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed".
When you run the smc 7727 did you not have any error?Because when i run i have another error, where says that is not possible to gains acess route, but how? if the cel is rooted and the usb debuug was on too?

Disable antivirus, and run again with admin privileges

You need to unlock your bootloader then for example flash the nAa ics kernel via flashtool and install ROM via CWM.

But as soon as I try to flash the kernel for Miui, FXP 133, I get the error. Really annoying cause I can't install Miui this way Anyone here have an idea? I have rebooted with AV shut down and then started FlashTool as admin but still no result.

If you look at the log you will see that your BL is still locked.

Ok, guess I misinterpreted then. How can I see it? Can I also see in this log of my X10 can be unlocked with flashtool? Or do I need another method for this?

make sure all the adb.exe in processes tab of task manager are killed. then try again. and for flashtool, you selected the X10 bl unlock firmware; our device is the X8.

yes i chek it evrytime n kill the adb.exe but it not work n in flashtool how i select x8 is already only one showing x10 so wht i do pls frd explain all process in detail i confused vry much so plss

You need stock rom 2.1 eclair for unlocking and not minicm6,flash stock rom and try again
If you don't want to unlock bootloader you can use custom roms that are for stock kernel.

oh yeah stamatis16 is right. you can unlock only on stock and if you are lucky maybe on gdx 13 but stock is the safer pick of the two.

[Q] Flash tool not working for X8

got an issue with my Xperia x8 .....yesterday when i tried to flah the nAa jelly bean kernel via flashtool, i connected my phone to the pc via front USB...some how my front USB port alwaye have been a bad boon,.. and flsh stuck at 3%..but did show flsh ended successfully( but it didnt reach 100% and didnt show the message to restart my phone). so i waited a few mins and detouched my phone from PC, and then only the problem starts.i tried all the usb ports and different custom ROM along with stock rom but none is working. each time i try to flash the status bar in flash tool is stuck at 3% or 10% or 18% with a message that flash ended successfully. below is the latest one:

when i press the power button of my phone no led comes up no SE logo...only vibration(but luckily phone is detected in flash mode via USB with green light on)

as long as you can connect your phone in flashmode i dont think its hardbricked.
seems like your usb port have the problem, take a look at this.

yesn i did check....my cable is new...i guess just 2 months old.....so i ll do the cleanup thing now..

Try to re-install flashtool and x8 drivers.

have u tried to flash other kernel? or use pc companion? beside, i think it might be a problem because of naa jb kernel, did u follow the steps to flash the kernel? especially this one:

[Q] HELP:: Forgot to unlock bootloader and now stuck ??

hello guys . i have a xperia x8 e15i and i tried to install a custom rom. so it all went like this.
First i downlaoded gingerdx v.31 then rooted my phone,installed busybox,installed xrecovery,put gingerdx in my sd card,booted my phone into xrecovery made a backup of my rom cleared my cache installed gingerdx and hit reboot.
now my phone just stays on the SE logo and cant get into xrecovery. every time i put in the battery it just keeps on going into the SE logo and doesnt do anything.
I was thinking maybe i forgot to unlock bootloader but i cant really fix that now. all im thinking is how to get it back.
any suggestions ?

It's just a soft brick. You can repair it using pcc or simply flash stock rom via flashtool.

It's a soft brick. I have encountered it aswell. If you have PC companion you can install the Stock Eclair 2.1 back or flash it via Flashtool

thanks but i have tried to do it with pc companoin which wont let me cause it tells me to turn my phone on which i cant and when i try flash it with flash tool i cant find the right firmware :I

No dude. Just click on the support zone and some option will say Repair device or Upgrade software( I am not sure .. cant remember , you'll find it ) after that it will Download the Eclair 2.1 automatically and when it is downloaded it will ask you to hold some button and while holding that button ( I think its the back button ) connect the usb cable to your phone! your phone will show a green light and after that leave the job on the PC companion

Nothing to worry, its just a soft brick , easy to fix.
You just need SONY PC COMPANION and your device with data cable.
Follow the steps in screenshot.
After the third step just follow instruction [SONY will show you the way ] .. and it will be done.
NOTE:- You will return back to stock without SU. !

Just a soft brick..
experienced the exat issue..
just use Sony Update service.. .
easiest to remove your soft brick!

Dude what u did is exactly wrong dont use x10 relock bl its for x10 phone better u choose stock rom of x8 that is android 2.1 then u r phone will boot and be sure to use flashtol.....!!!!

You can use Sony Update Service, you are right it's different !

SEUS works even when the phone won't boot...
You just need to find xperia x8 from listed mobiles, and follow instructions.. easy

This phone won't boot so PC companion will not be able to repair it !
Only Sony update service is able to repair the phone in flash mode
Many XDA users talk about SEUS and PC companion like if they were the same program...
P.S: if bootloader is unlocked, relock it by using RESTORE option in S1-tool or any soft you used to unlock it.
Relock the bootloader before using Sony Update Service

Are you serious? You don't know how to use pcc to unbrick a soft bricked phone then. Read up. Lots of guides showing just how to do it. And the update service is NOT the only tool to unbrick a phone. Please do a simple search about bricks first before you start giving answers and claim other users think pcc and seus is the same. You're only giving op false info.

I was just telling you that they are not the same software..
It happened to me during old soft bricks that PC companion sometimes won't do nothing through support zone => update
Ok Update Service is better (because it's different) and sorry for giving a fake info

I apologize for jumping on you mate.
Pcc can repair soft bricked phones although it's tricky for new users. In that aspect seus is better since it's simpler. Personally I prefer flashtool. I have stock rom and kernel on my pc just in case. I guess it's personal preference.

Thanks phone up and running again.
I cant root it though. I dunno why. I restored it with SEUS and then updated firmware with pcc. Still cant root it.

How are you trying to root it? Can you give us a log? Someone can probably help you out if we can identify what's wrong.

[Q] FLASHTOOL ERROR I DID EVERYTHING BUT my phone wont enter flashmode. MTP error.

I flashed stock rom.
My phone is rooted.
I can unlock the bootloader.
Installed all drivers.
But when i start FLASHTOOL JUST WONT UNLOCK MY BOOTLOADER!

UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER
im using the pcc to get a fresh stock rom,again!
i used s1 tool so i can unlock my bootloader it says.
but i am not able to do it!

Install Gordon Gates drivers
Open flashtool
Go to plugin/unlock
Then the program it will ask you to connect your device(disabled) in flash mode with pressed back button in usb port
Then will ask you to switch on your device
When the Sony Ericsson logo appears connect again (Fast)your device one more time in usb to complete the unlock method
If you have issues try again or reinstall the drivers

Bro what i wanted to do is to unlock my bootloader.
But i cant get it to work.
I did everything right!
But flashtool wont work!
What should i do now?

close your antivirus reinstall the drivers reboot your pc and try again
I can't help you farther..
Mine took 3 times until unlock with the flashtool
Also,try to unlock with custom rom..
I did it with GingerDX
No need necessary to be on official to unlock..
