unable to download some apps? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a rooted Note (German version) with Rocket ROM V22.
I'm trying to purchase Mobile Odin in Market but it says it is not compatible with my device. I've tried to boot the phone with 320 and 240 dpi setting with no luck. Some other apps would not install are YouTube and Lookout.
Can somebody please suggest any ideas to fix to this problem?
Many thanks
P.S. Tried desktop version of Market and clear cache in settings without any success.

There are few ways out there but u will need to search..
Or u could try lcd density nodded pre ( paid)

[Q] App's

I have a Streak 7 with android 2.2.2 on it. And rooted.
I cant seem to download some app's.
Facebook, messenger, and a few more.
This doesn't make since.
Can someone help?
Have you tried the Amazon App store?
I have the same problem. Apps that say they are compatible and that I installed on my ZTE Blade and Mid7 tab won't install on the Streak. Trying to install Lookout and WiFi Sync Manager.
Anyone got any ideas on this one. I could find the apks and force install but would prefer to do it through the market

Those should all work on 2.2.2. Try clearing cache and data on your Market and starting fresh (Home---> Menu---> Settings---> Applications---> Manage Applications---> All---> Market---> Force Stop, Clear Cache, Clear Data; restart and open your Market). Doesn't affect anything and it's worth a shot.
Did you flash 2.2.2 rooted, or root 2.2.2? If the above doesn't work, you may have a corrupted Market. If that's the case, download the new Market apk here:

Tried the market reset, no difference, then installed the new market and still no difference. I have a new streak 7 with 2.2.2 installed and rooted using gingerbreak.

I just tried installing the Facebook app on 2.2.2 (Streakdroid 1.3), and had no issues with it. Unless someone has a better idea, I would recommend doing one of the following:
1. Install via the web based market.
2. Load up ClockworkMod Recovery (via ROM Manager; available in the market) and flash a new ROM. I'd go with Streakdroid if you don't need WiFi, stock/rooted 2.2.2 if you do.
Sounds like you got a bad update, but I can't say for sure. If you install a custom ROM and still have no luck, it may be something specific to your Google account (though I should think that would be far less likely than something being wrong with your particular firmware on your S7).

[Q] I lost the market after factory reset :(

The market is installed because the market is shown in application settings. However i cant find it in anywhere.
I've re-install the market and the problem still here.
i'm using cm7 nightly and i've install the google apps pack
could anyone help me?

What DPI you are on ?
reply
Change your DPI to 320..
If you wanna keep using custom DPI, install a modded market using LCD density changer PRO..
no changes.
changed it back to 320 using FONT CHANGER.
previously was on 300
still the same prob

Check to make sure the date in your phone is correct.
same error
date and time are correct
auto date & time and auto time zone
solved
manage to get it working
cleared the PlayStore and uninstalled updates and restarted it
then it updated playstore and it worked
now changing my dpi back to 300

What is the simplest method of changing my DPI?

For those of you who haven't seen this here yet, someone has managed to modify Go Launcher so that the continuous message informing you to install the phone version is no more. Because of this, I'd love to give a go - if it were to actually fit nicely onto my screen that is. I need to adjust my DPI. What DPI do you recommend for comfortably fitting Go Launcher HD and what is the simplest method of changing my DPI to this? I am on the stock ICS 4.0.4, which means I have the brick bug also (so don't go getting my phone bricked please).
There are planety of apps in the Play Store that can do it.
But you may need to restore your system, so you have to be carefull, I had to restore mine once.
there is a manual way to do it by editing a file, but it's not safe either.
In liquid smooth JB rom, the option to change DBI is in the setting directly.. it's amazing.

I believe that you mean "DPI" and not "DBI", but thank you for the advice regardless of a typing error. So, from what you are saying, there is no safe way to alter the DPI on a stock ROM until Samsung (hopefully) fix the brick-bug problem?

Are you rooted? I once changed DPI using "DPI Changer" from play store and I had to re-flash firmware (boot loops), since then I am using root explorer to edit build.prop and haven't encountered any issue since then. You can also use ROM toolbox. But both these require root access.
I have tried 240, 285 and both seems okay.

Samsung browser problem

Hello everyone
I ve installed manually Samsung browser version 5.0 over my old version but it doesn't run correctly with errors, unexpected closes etc.. Now I want to go back to the right version but I cannot either uninstall it or install the previous one over the new one as it's a system app. I'm not rooted.. Is there a way I can do it or any 5 version that works correctly to anyone to install it?

I don't think version 5 worked for me either.
If you installed it then it should have installed as a user app. You should be able to uninstall it via app manager using the 'uninstall updates' button and revert to the default (system) version.
Have you tried clearing cache and data for the browser app first?
You can always install the play store version.
