Hi
I have Installed CNA (CodeNameAndroid) 1.4.0, and now my sgs does not vibrate. I was working after I installed it, but stoped suddenly. this is not the first time this has happened to me; last time I had to take it back to my Carrier (Swisscom) to get it repaired.
Vibration is essential to me as I never have the sounds on.
Does anybody know what is braking my Vibration Motor? and does anybody know how to fix it without going back (again) to my carrier?

I have vibrate enabled for the on screen keyboard and every once in awhile all phone vibration will stop in the middle of typing. It wont vibrate then for calls/messages/etc. It used to come back after I locked and unlocked it but now only if I leave it alone for a minute. This problem happened on CyanogenMod and still happens on froyo. Anyone else experience this?

Yes.. same for me.. It started with CM and also happened on froyo... now I'm back on CM and the problem is there (after 10-15 chars entered, vibration stops)
I got the same problem. Last week I sent my nexus one to htc for repair. Their stupid engineer made some scratches on my phone and hasn't found any hardware problem. Today when I was playing my phone and I think I finally found the problem. When I opened "android system info" application, the vibration suddenly gone. I uninstalled it and haven't met the vibration problem for the past 10 hours. So you guys might need to check whether you have installed this application. However, I might need another several days to finally conclude this observation.
I've never had that application installed so I don't think its that
Hi everybody.
I'm having this strange issue since FROYO update (first one that came with radio). Everytime I put a new update (or anything involving going to Recovery), when my phone boots up, I can get no sound during a call (I can't hear and can't be heard also) and more, the proximity sensor is not working either (screen remains lighted when close to ear).
If I put the phone on speaker, I can hear the other and I can be heard. Looks like the upper part of the phone is not working. The only solution I found until now is to turn the phone off, take out the battery for a minute or two and then, when I start the phone, everything is back on its track.
I've tried everything, going back to stock, getting the new (now old) FRF85b signed from Google (with radio in it). I received no errors during updates, I did wipe everthing, but the problem is still there.
Today I've updated to FRF91 and after the phone booted up, same problem.
Could be the radio of FROYO? Anyone else have this issue?
Regards,
Alin.
I'm having this exact same problem and I'm kind of freaking out because I have an unlocks bootloader and no warranty, however this just happened to Me today and I've been on froyo for almost two months
ok so i just solved my problem... by smacking the speaker end of my phone on my hand a few times..
Everything was going fine on my Nexus One (CM 7.1) when 2 days back I dropped it. It wasnt a deadly drop. Just a casual one on the screen though. But nothing seemed to have hurt it badly, internally or externally.
After two hours it started restarting. After restarting it would be at desktop for 5 seconds and reboot again. it happened again and again. I flashed CM 7.1 over it. Same thing kept happening. Then i flashed CM 7.0.3. It worked. But i whenever i make a call the screen goes blank immediately and doesnt show up anything even after call is ended (by other person as i cannot). Even after call, i press all the available buttons but no life to it even though it is on.
I tried OxygeN1 rom. Its working good but the problem after every call continues.
Has anyone faced such a problem and any solution?
I noticed that i continue to face 5 second rebooting problem with CM 7.1 and Bugless Beast (by Peter Alfonso) Roms. Can anyone guess the reason?
My camera has also stopped working since then. Shows as
'Camera Error - cannot connect to camera'
Pls help with this also. Tried all the possibilities such as memory card format and other solutions on
Cannot go to HTC service center due to unlocked bootloader.
Pls help guys..need it badly.
I am facing the same problem.
I guess it has to do with proximity sensor not working.
I flashed MIUI ROM and in the settings there is an option to disable proximity sensor during call.
After this i am not seeing blank screen, but the camera still doesnt work!!
I had a similar problem after a drop.
Camera & flash had stopped working.
Nothing helped until I took it to the HTC Service Center.
They said some flex cable had to be replaced. Camera / flash working great after this.
My phone was an out of warranty Nexus One with an unlocked bootloader. They repaired it without a murmur!
I just received my galaxy note n7000 back from Samsung service centre after 2 months wait.
However, I noticed the phone speaker does not work somehow. Yesterday, I was able to call and hear notification sounds for a while and then I lost all the sounds from the phone after few hours later. I decided to talk to samsung tech team but when I looked my phone again this morning, it worked perfectly. Everything worked again. However, now I don't hear anything from the phone again. I have no idea what is going on since it worked this morning. I wanted to ask you guys first since I seriously don't want to wait another 2 months to use my phone and I believe it might be related to software bug since the sound worked again. Is there any known issue with that?
if u think it's sw related then flash a stock rom from ur region thru pc Odin.
it might be the volume bug ringer issue, try to simulate by increasing the volume under settings >sounds.. notifications, systems, media, ringtones and etc...
use your phone as you would use it and check back those settings again if they've been lowered or decreased by one notch. If you do notice that, then definitely it's a bug on the stock ICS firmware.
Same Problem
I am having the same problem. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem, as I've tried changing all kinds of settings, turning the device completely off and back on, etc. And none of it makes any difference. It just doesn't work at all sometimes, and works just fine other times. I've even had it stop working in the middle of playing a sound.
Anyone know anything about this, or if there's any fix for it? I guess I'm going to try to get my device replaced, as it is still under warranty. I'm just worried that everything's going to work fine when I go to get it replaced, only to stop working once I get home.
Hi guys,
yesterday i experienced a strange behavior of the vibration with my Z3+ (E6553). The one moment it worked fine like always and in the next it stopped working. I tried everything what you can imagine to get the vibration back to work, disable xposed and every changes, disabled root for each App, flashed the Kernel new which i used at this moment (AndroKernel) , clear cache/dalvik, flashed Stock Kernel, reset the Device, flashed the complete .224 Firmware new with flashtool. Nothing of this brought back the Vibration. The only moment the Vibration always worked was when the Device was complete off and when you turn it on there is a short vibration, so i know that it was no Hardware damage. Well when nothing helped me i flashed my backup and everything was like before except of the not working vibration. Today morning the vibration didnt work, but at about 12 o'clock the vibration started working and till now everything looks like there was never a problem. That was really strange for about 24 hours no vibration and then it came back without doing anything. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
