Hi do we all have 'hot' running batteries? At normal - standby my battery like on around 30 deg C and during use up to 40. When charging can shoot up to 42.5.
Really worrying at times...
How your battery temps doing?

Damn I got original battery, maybe I got issues....

28-30c on idle. up to 38 on load, mostly with wi-Fi.
My battery temp is abouth 30oc, when i played game, the temp is 38oc.
But the back cover in CPU is hot, can i have app cpu temp for O2X? Thanks!
P/S: My English is bad!
same here,
idle around 28-30C
While using, can shoot up to 42C
Charging also heat up to 40C
After around 8 months use, I feel my battery is screwed.
just buy original LG battery at USD 10.
Still charging for 1st time. Hope OK

use system tuner pro. but make sure you use trial first. because when i use system tuner pro with stock CM7 kernel it can't read the CPU temp.
@hd2000
your bat temp still normal
You should have a shut down profile for if it ever goes above 47c.
26,1°C right after sleep, goes up to almost 40° when loading.

anything safe to flash yet regarding increase of battery life? Ill be working 8-5 one day throwing in some internet use and texting here and there. By the time i reach 9 or 10 oclock ill be near 30-25 % maybe less. Is that normal?
Sent from my STOCK DEODEXED DROID3 using XDA App
Yeah that sounds about right. I haven't seen anything in regards to increased battery life, though.
Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk
I haven't seen any increase with Monster ROM. I'm like you, i take my phone off the charger when I head for work and at night when I put it back on its around 30%
I have the extended battery and I'm running Monster Rom 1.1k
And just to test the battery life I unplugged it before I went to sleep when it was at 100%, after sleeping for 7 hours the battery had only dropped to 94%, and I've been using it fairly heavily for the past 6 hours and it's only at 71% now.
reallly? Thats interesting jerm. My buddy has been on the monster 1.1k and hes obsessed with it lol. Im personally a steel fan but thats just me. I think this is the fastest rom out yet. Its like lightning speed. But havent really noticed anything in regards to battery. Another buddy of mine has the droid 2 and his battery will last over 24 hours.. i dont kno what hes runnin with currently but why not us :/

I got the extended battery from verizon when I bought the phone, I usually get almost 2 days (~40 hrs) with moderate use.
I'm 32 minutes from charge and down to 80%. Screen is on auto and I'm on wifi on xda and other sites. Too me the battery life I very bad.

Im running steel and i have noticed a significant increase in both speed and battery life. Usualy have to charge halfway through a workday, now it will last all day and still be over 55%

yeah for me steel seems to increase battery by a little, not by alot. People have been telling me monster increases by alot but i tried myself and i didnt notice anything significant

I can typically get about 18-24hours out of mine,
Default battery,
Im running steel droid v3. Remember too, darker or black themed things will help save your battery too. Blacks will straight up not illuminate the pixels. I've noticed though... ridiculous battery drops when I record video... like 7mins of recorded dropped me down from 35% to 14% battery... is that normal? Or is there a camera hack that would improve that kind of consumption?

Hmm.. well seiryu. Thats not normal. My assumption for that dramatic decrease is the fact that your battery is allready low anyways and the video use is prolly killin it alot more because your phone wants to save battery when it is really low. For example. Have you ever noticed how your phone acttually takes longer to drop 10% if your actually at 10%? If you were at 70% lets say. It will drop faster from 70 to 60 than it will 10 to 0. I know if i watch youtube videos when i have like 30 or less it drops really fast. Try recording video on a somewhat fully charged phone and see if that helps. Give me feedback!

It's not an amoled display, the screen is illuminated no matter the colour of the theme, and usually the lcd displays are requiring more power to filter the light.
So on an LCD a luminous theme is more battery saver, than a dark one. Anyway the difference is probably very tiny.
If I charge the battery at night it is fine until next night. I guess it is enough for me but I am waiting eagerly to get an extended battery.
Try out Liberty 1.2. I am getting better battery life than Steel. On extended battery, it has been 23 hours off he charger and still has over 60% left with moderate usage. I am very happy with Liberty.
2 days for normally use,

I managed to get mine above 5o degrees celsius yesterday. There is an app called "Stability Test" on the market in case you too would like to get yours warm for these gloomy winter evenings
Im on 2.3.6 KK9 and it runs significantly cooler than my old SGS2. The only time its even warm is when charging and playing a game.
Same here. Charging and doing stuff makes it hot. Really scary. My hd2 isn't this hot.

Heater
I was using my Note yesterday at work with no problems. Today while I was at work I could feel the heat on my leg from the phone in my pocket! I freaked out and I find out that it heats up and powers off. I have to hold power to get it running again. Checking the temperature in "spare parts" battery info it was upper 30 degrees celsius. Sitting beside me now it's 29. Super scary. I don't want to have to return my phone. I have the abyssnote kernel with Romow rom.

I would like to know too. Actually, I guess the upper limit of the processor would be good to know too, but too bad we can't directly access those temps since I guess there isn't a CPU temp sensor. I tried looking around through Samsung's site & CPU spec sheets and can't find anything of use about operating temperatures. While gaming and not charging mine can get up to 46c and the phone becomes quite warm/hot to the touch.
I've got FM 2.0 Kernel on Cassies Lite ROM. I have it overclocked to 1.6Ghz and undervolted each step by roughly 25mV (couldn't do much more than that.)
I'm a bit worried and actually a bit disappointed that it seems I have to limit my usage of the phone incase it goes into meltdown. I have profiles set to reduce the max clock when the battery reaches certain temps, but I'm afraid that might not be enough.
Mine can get very uncomfortably hot if charged and have GPS app running for an hour. Usually in that case, I underclock it to 500mhz, which is fast enough to run the app and play music in the background smoothly
It gets quite hot with 3D gaming over long session too, but bearable to hold in a case, but you can feel the heat on the screen, usually underclock to it 800mhz to 1ghz in this case.
Hello all!
I am new to the forum so I hope make it without any errors.
I bought the Optimus 2x cellphone last week whith the hope of getting the good one (the one without freezes and black screens) fortunately the cell worked very nicely. I updated to gingerbread and I feel it very good. But I have the good known problem of battery consumption.
Now I have a battery related question. After the update I charged the phone and get the battery indicator stuck at 100% I rooted the phone, installed Battery Calibration and calibrated the phone (left the battery to reach 0% then fully charged to 100% hit calibrate and left the telephone fully discharge again)
The issue is that when the thelephone was at 100% the voltage indicator of the battery calibration was in 4100 mV and here comes the weird thing. When reached 0% the voltage indicator was saying 2000mV.
My question is if this values are right. Someone with good battery duration and the Battery calibration installed could tell me the correct values? I thought that the phone shut down when battery was down to 0 mV but maybe the problem is that my battery is just using "half" battery.
Sorry for my english. I am not native english speaker.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
That is voltage, 3300mv = 3.3 volts.
Fully charged the battery would be at 4180mv, fully discharged is around 3200mv usually, or a bit higher.
The phone shuts off when the battery gets below the usable range, which I believe is slightly above 3000mv.
So yes a range of 3.3 to 4.2 volts is perfectly normal for a 3.7v battery.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. So I think I should get used to it. My battery doesnt last more than 12 hours of my regular use. A some internet browsing and some messaging. No music, videos, or games.
Someone recommends the extended batteries of 3500 mAh for this phone? That will make the phone last more time?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Reaper511989, I have bought an extended battery from HERE. It is fatter, but not ugly. And the battery lasts a lot longer. I use it when I'm travelling. I have no idea where in the world you are, but the battery was from a company in the UK.
Have fun. Anil

6 hours is just wrong... in the most intense usage you should get 2 hours of screen ON time.. Wifi with 2g on trolling forums with browser/tapatalk should be 4 hrs.

Well in that case you might wanna repair your device since you seem to have the same issue with all roms. That should not be the case that it uses the same amount of battery without using it, especially if no app is loading the cpu....

well actually. cm7 i got about 5-6 hours batt life, cm9 i got no more than 8, GB (stock rom) can usually go from 5-8 hours. but with no bugs. so i am back on GB.
so i dont think device is broken/dodgy since the batt life fluctuates a little. depending on the rom.
my main issue is, ive been reading about ppl using froyo and going to GB and having mass battery drain. now im thinking about going to froyo.

Yes. Seems that's the full screen on time
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
No, you can extend screen on time by doing nothing on the phone. But you have to make it so the screen wont turn off after X amount of seconds/minutes..
well you can switch of mobile network and wifi, screen brightness, that will give you more. But generally no. The battery is small compared to fullscale tablets, but they dont pack a mobile network that uses a lot of energy.
Im always switched off mobile data, use lowest screen brightness, sometimes little check up emails with wifi, play little games and it last about 4 hours screen time on.
50mins playing VC and 40% battery drop...? No need to worry it's rather normal
I just asking because I new in high screens phones and now I understand that it takes alot of battery power for screen like this
I walso want to ask is it normal that when I charging my note with original wall charger, phone in charging mode is automaticaly little warmer, like 2-5 C more like not charging. and also games feels little laggy when charging and also for example when I play order and chaos with mobile data on not charging phone it gets ~45C warm but when charging it become 59-60 C hot Is it bad? does it gonna fry little bit?

When I got the phone, the battery section of settings would estimate 24-26 hours remaining from a full charge. I'm at 90% and it's estimating 15 hours remaining. Anyone else have this dramatic decrease in battery life? My usage of the phone hasn't changed.
The estimated time remaining is an ESTIMATE based on the current usage. (I'm not sure if it's based on the the current usage from a given timespan, since last unplugged in, or what.) The point is that if you leave your phone idle after fully charging, you'll have a higher estimated time remaining. If you use it heavily right after charging, you'll have a lower estimated time remaining.
In other words, it's kind of saying something like "Based on how you've recently been using your phone, you have XX hours remaining." So, change how your using the phone, and the estimate (actually, more of a guesstimate) will change.

90F is cool for a phone thats on. your body has an average body temperature of 98.6F. my guess is thst you are giving your battery temp. battery safety is st 60C, which is 140F. your phones cpu has a safety shutdown mechanism that automatically shuts down at 105C, which is 225F.
and battery drain, can be pretty bad depending on the game, is very expected.
