1. Wipe cache + dalvik-cache and retry...
2. Delete /data/data/com.android.vending/cache...
3. If the above don't work, factory reset from recovery and re-sync everything!
thanks alot for your help BrO but i've tried what you've said but it didnt work, however i found the solution to delet the folder .android_secure
So I woke up this morning and found my phone acting weird. And after a couple of reboots and cursing my phone is acting like never before. EVERY single application is force closing and NOTHING will start or change. I am stuck without being able to turn on WiFI or disable air plane mode. I have not changed anything on my phone that I can think of that would to this. Just suddenly nothing works. I would like to wipe and factory reset but I can't backup my data.
Hope someone can help!
Using CM7.1 stable with glitch kernel (newest)
EDIT: nevermind.. wiped the phone anyways
Try rom manager....fix permissions

Now my phone started to fc everything again. Fixing permissions does not work. I don't know what to do.

Did you wipe the Dalvik cache? This + Fix permissions helped me when I was having FCs
Yes I have. It works for some time then the problem slowly creeps back. Let's see how long it will work now.

clean flash?
That is what I did and it came back. As of now, flashing the latest gapps seems to work so far.

I have to state that your thread title is misleading. Obviously, on your phone, at least battery and screen ARE in working condition...
i meant flash a stock rom with odin including pit file... do you experienced those problems?
if that is what you have done there is nothing i can help you, maybe some more experienced people here can help you
I only experience this with cm7.1. Now, yesterday I wiped my phone completely and decided to reinstall cm7.1 and i did. I even restored my apps via market to make sure my backups were not the cause. Now, just a moment ago my phone went nuts and a temporary cure is to wipe cache and fix permissions. Usually it starts with google apps (some framework fc) and then everything goes.

Next time your apps start force closing, and clearing cache, dalvik cache, and fixing permissions does not work, take a look at your /datadata folder and make sure there is space in there. If there isn't, any apps that write data there will force close. Keep that in mind.

Thanks man, how do I check this though? Es file explorer is not telling me much
Also that folder is jammed with folders about each app.

The /datadata folder is essentially where apps keep some information. If you try to install an app without enough room there, it will say insufficient space; likewise, if it's really full and an app needs to write data there, it will force close. The size of this folder usually differs between ROMs.
I know Root Explorer shows the size and free space at the top for the folder you're in. I'm sure in other apps you could long-press the folder and there may be an option for folder details or something, but it's really dependent on the app.
Hey guys, I just wanted to know if any of you had problems installing Google Play Music on their touchpads.
When I try to install from market, it says "app already installed". I pretty much tried everything I could think of, I tried installing via ADB with -r, I reflashed, cleared cache etc... but it still will not install. I never installed the application so I do not know where this error could come from...
I am running CM9 Fat and Creamy.
Any ideas?
That's the only app I use for music! I've never had a problem getting it to install. Chances are you might have it under your disabled apps. Have a look in your manage apps, and should be at the very bottom of the list greyed out if it's disabled.

Hey thanks for the reply.
The app was never actually installed... I looked again in the app section of the settings and reenabled everything, cleared cache and dalvik and rebooted, but it still gave me the error message when trying to install.
I guess I should try to wipe in CWM... (just to be sure, this will not erase the sdcard partition right?)
Same issue
I'm having this same problem. It seems to only be with Google Music because I can get other apps to download and update just fine. I've downloaded and installed the app on my phone which is linked to the same google account I wonder if this could have to do with it? Like you I've tried clearing both caches multiple times with reboots. Force closing and wiping all app data for the play store, all to no avail.
This small tutorial is to get rid of the error android.process.acore which comes again and again on screen and bothers alot!!
For the People who are encountering this error just follow the below steps.
This error usually occurs because you might have forgot to WIPE when installing a NEW ROM. So to avoid that always wipe when the ROM provider has stated so.
There are also other causes which result this error. So try the following methods:
1. Try uninstalling Facebook if that is installed. If this does not fix your problem then try the following.
Do you have your contacts backed up?
2. Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Sync Adapter and press Clear Data, this error usually goes away. If this doesn't work, try clearing the data on Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts or Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Storage.
If problem is fixed, then restore contacts and reinstall Facebook and make sure you don't sync contacts with it.
3. Third and Final solution for me which I really dont like but has worked with me
Boot into Recovery than
1. WIPE DATA
2. WIPE CACHE PARTITION
3. MOUNTS & STORAGE > FORMAT SYSTEM
4.FLASH THE ROM
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. HAS WORKED FOR ME..... PEACE!!

This reminds me that I recently noticed that "Contact Groups" were not properly sync'ed between Google Contacts and the Contacts on my phone. I went into Contacts on my phone and checked "Sync Data". Is that supposed to stay unchecked?
Of course, the Contacts app crashes before I can un-check the box, so I don't know how to fix that now.

Clearing Data for Contact storage worked for me, thanks!
Third step seems to have woked
I did the first 2 with not results the third seems to have worked. My samsung VZW i800 is working quite well now thank you. I have CM11.0 terrenceng... granted I still get the error "unfortunately gmail has stopped" and I'm working on that issue. In the meantime I'm using the email app to handle my Gmail. Thanks again.
I tried deleting Facebook, which worked for several days, but now the Acore Error back with a vengeance !!! I do not have the same hierarchy as listed below, so I cannot use the Method #2. I've already tried Method #3, but obviously that did not work. Oh well ..... so much for upgrading to Buggy KitKat ....
At least I'm getting a new phone tomorrow .... Hopefully it will be more stable, and if I'm lucky might even have JellyBean!!! I had NO problems with JellyBean for over three months. Big mistake upgrading to KitKat 4.4.2.

anyone using this room with skype experienced any problem?
using the latest skype, when try signing out, system will show "android.process.acore" after click ok, message pops up right away. Reboot won't help either. Only way getting rid of message is to clear the contact storage.
Fix the android.process.acore
I had this problem after removing a Google account from my phone that did contacts sync. During the removal, my phone crashed (nice job guys) and it clearly corrupted something..
I DID NOT NEED TO RESET MY PHONE TO FACTORY SETTINGS OR RE-FLASH ANY FIRMWARE, ETC
IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PROCESS WILL DELETE ALL LOCALLY STORED CONTACTS FROM YOUR PHONE. BUT DON'T WORRY, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RESTORE ANY CONTACTS THAT YOU REMOTELY SYNCED WITH AN ACCOUNT (SUCH AS A GOOGLE ACCOUNT).
I fixed my phone by going to:
1. Setting > Application Manager
2. Slide over to the "ALL" tab
3. Select the "Contacts Storage" application
4. Click the "Turn Off" button
5. Click the "Force Stop" button
6. Click the "Clear Cache" button
7. Click the "Clear Data" button
8. Uncheck the "Show Notifications" option
9. Click the "Turn On" button
This should immediately resolve your issue.
IF YOU PREVIOUSLY DISABLED CONTACTS SYNCING FOR ANY OF YOUR "ACCOUNTS", YOU SHOULD RE-ENABLE IT NOW TO GET YOUR CONTACTS BACK ON YOUR PHONE.
If you're using the Facebook app (com.facebook.katana) , especially the "dev" version, try freezing/disabling, then clearing data and cache in it, seems FB doesn't do much contacts sanitizing....

I had this issue with skype and resolved it by re enabling calendar storage in Titanium Backup. Maybe you got the same situation.

The best way to resolve this issue is
- Turn Off Sync
- Remove Your Google account account from your device
-Add your google account again
-Turn on sync
BOOM you are done now
U ROCK!!!
the second solution which is clearing the ''contacts storage'' data fixed it but the problem occurred when i uninstalled facebook actually it happened to me on my other phone ( ''Galaxy Note II'' to be exact ) just by logging out of my account in the facebook app so i had to factory reset the phone
i wonder why ? all my devices have official roms with no root
anyway thanks
I get this problem "Unforunately,android.process.acore has stopped".
I have stock rom. I have Xposed framework installed,is that the source of the problem?
Thanx in advance for helping me.
My device:Samsung Galaxy S Duos2
I used to get that error message many times. With my first Note 3, it finally got so bad that I could not use my Note 3 anymore. Samsung sent me a replacement Note 3, which I still have. I started getting that error again on my second Note 3. Had to do a Factory Reset, which seemed to fix the issue. However, now I'm getting a new error message that just started when I upgraded to Lollipop 5.0 >>> Touch Wiz suddenly quits. After about 15-20 seconds starts up again.
Hey all! If none of the above solutions are working for you (like in my case), then please try this solution I found that worked for me:
1. Uninstall the app that is causing the popups (this could be Facebook, OneNote, WhatsApp, Skype, etc...).
2. Disable Goolge+.
3. Reinstall app that was causing the popups (sign in, get it going).
4. Re-enable Google+ (I actually haven't cause I don't use it, but that's up to you).
It looks like 5.1 fix this, so hang in there!
I just got the Lollipop 5.0 Update for my Note 3 about a week ago. So far, seems to be running ok. I have a list of 11 issues with Lollipop, one which a Samsung Tech Support lady helped me fix (after many calls to tech support, with no help). Another issue I discovered the solution by myself (by accident), and one more issue I found the answer online after reading many articles, and watching many videos.
I have not seen this issue "android.process.acore" with the Lollipop 5.0 Update. Hoping to get another update to fix the remaining issues (Screenshot, Battery Drain, WiFi, RAM, Bluetooth, TouchWiz).

Yea, I tried everything else in this forum and on the web> Facebook uninstall, stop all contacts, calendar, google play related apps and clear data, delete google account, etc...
Have now cleared and uninstalled Skype, Airdroid, and mightytext since it seems to be a Google Contacts syncing issue. This still hasn\t helped. Will keep you all posted if I find the culprit.
