Hi, I know there is a way to edit the framework-res.apk of ics roms to have them display the on screen soft keys. I have seen the tutorial to do it myself but have tried using the tools before and have not been able to get them to work right. So I was wondering if someone could hook me up with the edited framework-res for the latest ice cold sandwich release. Thanks in advance for the help.

In the latest ice cold build there's an option to enable it. System settings>Display>enable on screen navigation

I know we are all excited about ice cream sandwich! was wondering if we get it for our phone does that mean we will have two sets of buttons? can we remove the soft buttons and just use the one's we have? Seems like it would be a easy of screen space for nothing.
Cheers

With ICS you can hide the on screen soft buttons whenever you want, and use the traditional Google buttons...

Hiding won't be an option as those buttons won't be included in our update if it comes. Now Google has officials that no is for nexus one cause of old hardware, doubts have started to creep in my mind too.

Probably needs JB framework or something.
Might be able to install, but hardly it will work 100%

Im new to androids and but familiar with the devices themselves. i switch from an iphone. when i first got my atrix hd the contacts menu and screen was black.
i did the OTA update and now the contact screen is white. which i really dont like. (such a trivial problem i know)
i was wondering if anyone knew how to or if it is possible to change the contact menu color back to Black.
thank you for all your help in advance!
There is no way of doing that unless you root your phone which can't be done yet in jelly bean release

You can use exdialer with ICS theme

Yes u can but with the stock apps there is no way without rooting and nodding the stock apps

So when the root comes out how would I go about changing it then?
You would have to mod it based on the ICS 4.0.4 Atrix HD version of the apk
