Help needed unrooting - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I originally rooted using the cfroot method.
I have flashed rocketrom v22 on my phone.
How do I unroot now?

Yup did that, got stuck in a boot loop, booted into android recovery and wiped, flashed again and fine now...
Is this the only way to get back to stock? Can the wipe be avoided?
EDIT: Sorry forgot to thank you for replying

I'm not sure, but I know wipe would always be recommended, because the data left from other rom could affect the rom stability (or I am wrong?)
You could just backup your apps and data with Titanium backup, and restore after flashing...

Bro whole point is unrooting right? Im under the impression that Titanium backup does not work without root or does it?

You need super user permision to run titanium back up and you need to be rooted to use super user app.

Thats the problem
...So that means
UNROOT = Mandatory Factory Reset
Am I correct?

Pretty much, you can save some data on your sd card i expect.

Thanks bro, made a video tut of rooting, got a lot of requests on how to unroot, so just made the tut, just wanted to reconfirm that I was right before I uploaded the video
Thanks again!

ashwin, welcome back after long pause.
You can see video i have made how to unroot.
Now in details
-If you use zergrush tool to unroot, it will leave some foot print of superuser app.
-If you have added CF root kernel, you have to First replace that with stock kernel.
So easiest way to unroot is just Flash Stock ROM with PC odin, which give you perfact unroot experience. Now regarding data, you can select nonwipe version ROM to flash, that will save your data as it is.

This is common thing(boot loop) when switching, Stock - Custom n vise versa. N usually clears with clear cache, n delvic cache, only sometime it needs data wipe.

I have already answered, you can flash stock ROM with non wipe ROM to keep your data intact.

Are the Open Europe stock roms not all wipe roms?

Mod Edit - removal of potentially dangerous procedure - do not advise anyone to wipe anything until the issue has been resolved.
It seems you are on stock ROM, here you need is wipe cache and data, but that is dangerous from situation you are having.
Wipe can be dangerous on stock ROM
Simply download and flash this kernel with PC odin for PDA tab
http://hecubus.com/xda/kernel/GL_NOTECORE_v12-5_STD.tar
then from recovery wipe cache, delvic cache and data
Remember this will raise your flash counter, and you have to reset using triangle away. If you are not aware of flashing and other thing, I advise to go to samsung service centre.

Where does he saids he's on stock?
Auto update is als o in other roms.
And if you're phone fails without different recovery or costum rom he would have probably send it to samsung right away.
My steps won't work at all on stock recoveries.
If he w2ants to do it without samsung.
Flash new kernel trough odin first rthen follow my steps
@OP
You dont have option to backup before Booting/Rooting
Simplest step i have mentioned in post#5
1.Flash said kernel with PC Odin (with PDA)
2.If your device reboot, then you will have option to backup
3.If failed to boot aftre flashing kernel, simply enter to recovery and wipe cache, wipe delvic cache
If successfully boots, then still you will have data intact
4.If no booting then go to recovey wipe data
Hope fully everything shud be fine, and just use triangle away to reset counter.

Just flash a stock rom thru odin
Sent from my GT-I9103 using xda premium
1: flash a Philz kernel for ur rom and reboot into CWM and do a facotry reset.
OR
2: flash a GB rom from the same thread and reboot into recovery and do a factory reset
ppl will have their backup data in a nandroid backup.. so its very unlikely that someone will post it.. more over a stockrom backup is about 1 GB

Did you do the 3 wipes in recovery ?
If ODIN passed then all is good, it should be booting.
try the above method of going back to GB and then 3x wipes and watch it come alive
Then start the whole procedure again to get back to where you want to be :good:

[Q] Flashing CM9,1

Well,
I have a Galaxy Note on hands trying to install CM9.1. It was with Official rom ICS 4.0.3. I flashed it without doing the 3 wipes, and after I flashed the rom i tried to wipe data/factory reset. Then the phone would turn off everytime. So, I tought it must be because I didn't flash, then I'm trying to go back to GB, like the tutorial we have in XDA, but I'm stuck at NAND Write Start! Cache.img, and it doesn't proceed, no error messages.
What should I do?
help!
was the 4.0.3 rooted? did you have CWM with kernel or did you use CWM.zip?

I rooted it first, and after root i used CWM.zip file.
why?
CWM.zip file is known to cause bricks. What kernel where you on? do you remember installing a custom kernel?

also it would be good it you can post the screen shot of odin .. how you selected the rom files and where.

Well
I was with Official Firmware 4.0.3. Then:
1. Installed Super SU
2. Installed CWM.zip
3. Installed CM9.1
4. Wipe data/factory Reset
5. Auto reboot the device, and styck on boot screen
6. Back to Recovery
6.1 Installed Hydracore 7.0 STD
7. Wipe cache and Wipe Dalwik
8. Tried to wipe Data/factory Reset
9. Auto-reboot and yet locked on boot screen
10 Download Mode
11. trying to install GB official rom and locked in Cache writing.
I need help because it is my boss's phone. I have a galaxy note and because of this procedure that worked fine on mine I did that.
Any help to solve this hard brick?
Anyone? I need help
Really desperate here.
Installing a rom using temp cwm.zip could have done the trick to brick your phone. Anyhow. Could you paste the odin logs.

oh,
I'm not anymore in the PC where I tried Odin. But the logs were pretty usual, stopping at NAND Write Start
like this image
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1224997&stc=1&d=1343392025
And I also tried to install ICS room 4.0.3. That went on till factoryfs.img, then stoped.
Super Brick? Really? How's that possible?

The stopping at "factoryfs.img" in combination with using the temporary recovery in cwm.zip is typical for a bricked device.
Please read hg42's thread for checking the bad sectors and for a workaround by repartitioning (this will exclude the bad parts from using it). But first check the eMMC with his method for errors and real confirmation of the brick.
A complete repair is only possible with a replacement of the motherboard by Samsung.

GUIDE to have a 9.1.B.1.67 Deodexed Rooted CWM installed STOCK ROM on your XTX

ok, its done
****http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=3780073824&uk=17867859
1. Download the ROM from link above (Thanks to the creator)
2. Download Flashable CWM v7
3. Dwonload Flashable SuperSU
4. Now, if you r in rooted .411 with CWM , copy all of the above zips in memory, if not go get rooted and CWM installed .411 first
5. Reboot to CWM, flash the ROM, Flash the SUperSU, Flash the CWM
6. Reboot
7. Then you will have a rooted CWM installed system with old JB Kernel from .411
8. Now open flashtool, goto flash mode, select .67 FTF and select only KERNEL and BASEBAND (exclude all other and remove the tics from WIPE DATA, WIPE CACHE, WIPE APPSLOG and tic no final verification )
9. FLASH em
# NOW YOU HAVE A FULLY 9.1.b.1.67 DEodexed, rooted, CWM installed STOCK ROM with all of its features

You do not have to update the baseband, it may be worth NOT selecting the baseband. If anyone gets any connection issues restore a .411 backup, go through the process again and this time do NOT select baseband.

i think anyone should backup EFS before installing this ROM there a high possibility to losing your IMEI

This is simply a restore from TWRP backup, so I think it will only affect /system, /data, /cache if you don't check others. Sdcard and External SD should stay remain. Anyway I'm still downloading...

No,it won't boot since you don't have LP bootloader. LP rom won't boot on KK bootloader.
Warning to users- You may brick your device if you tinker and flash LP rom on variants other than C . Experiment on it if you have proper knowledge because a user already lost his imei flashing it. And yes, just wait for day or two,LP will arrive soon to every varaints. Don't risk your device in over anxiety.
Sent from my SM-N910H

What partitions did you include? If modem and EFS are there - why won't you just restore them? Or restore everything at all?
is it possible to flash an baseband , efs wasn't included
