For some reason my "phone" app won't let me end a call now. It could be gingervolt related but I'm not sure, and I don't have enough posts yet to post to the dev forum.
I can hit the end button and it says call ended, but the icon in the notification bar still says connected and the call stays active. So far the only way I've found to fix it is reboot the phone, which is rather annoying.
Anyone have any ideas?

Well I've had my Tilt for a week now and I have been frustrated completely with the Phone App.
First of all, when I am calling a tone prompted location where you have to press the keys to get somewhere (611, corporate voicemail, etc), some of the time the phone will go into "hold" when i press the keys.
Secondly, after a call that i have pressed the keys for tone operation, the phone app will not completely close. the screen will stay half dim and the start bar and task panes are locked out. i can't access any of the icons at the top of the screen. the only button available is the task manager which shows no programs running.
i can pretty much replicate the 2nd problem consistently. does anyone else have this problem? Please try to call into a company say even 611, go through all the tone prompts and see if the phone app closes appropriately afterwards. make sure you are on the phone long enough for the screen to automatically dim.
the only way for me to get past this is to softboot so i can get access to the start menu again. but i'd rather not have to softboot after every phone call =T
Thanks!
Same problem here, any help would be great.

disable the lock thing where you have to enter a pin - i think its a bug in the rom
Same problem - but if press the on/off button for the screen twice I do have again access to all icons. Not nice but ....
yeah i was messing around with the phone last night and realized that it has to do with phone lock and figured out if you press the power button to put it to sleep and press it again to wake it up, everything is normal again. it was just a fluke how i found out but i'm glad to know that this isn't only my problem. i was about to do another hard reset on the phone.
i called ATT techsupport and they told me it might be the simcard. can other Tilt owners chime in here. is this a ROM problem or could it be related to a faulty sim?

Hello,
I have the latest dutty's ROM installed (June 6); I'm on Fido Network.
The problem is that when someone calls me the phone sometimes rings and sometimes it doesn't. It would still show me that I missed a call however. I searched the FAQ and the forums with no luck. I'm always on call for my work and I appreciate if someone can help me with this issue.
Thank you
I and others have this same problem. I have not seen a fix yet. See the following thread:

I figured out the fix last night.. disable "voice command" under settings.
Should fix the problem.
SOLUTION!!
ok, I have come across a simple solution. (if I am not the first to point this out, then I apologize).
If you are using HTC home on your today screen. DISABLE IT. then just re-enable it. I was having the problem all of a sudden where my device wasnt ringing, only vibrating, even though it was set to ring will volumes turned all the way up.
Start-> Settings -> Today (make sure the 'Personal' Tab is selected at the bottom). After clicking 'Today' click the 'Items' tab at the bottom and UNCHECK 'HTC Home'. Then click OK. I called my device from a land line and it rang. (make sure your ringer settings are turned on). Then I repeated the above process and put HTC home back on my today screen and its working again. Hope this helps someone.
When I'm trying to call/receive a call, the screen is really messed up. Nothing appears, I get the start menu at the top which says "Phone" on it, the soft key labels at the bottom, and then the part of the screen where the dialer/call status/all that stuff is supposed to be just shows up white. I think it may have started when I tried to answer a call while my phone was locked, or maybe after I changed around the call settings with KaiserTweak so it wouldn't sleep/fast sleep during calls. I reverted those settings to the default, restarted my phone, and still no luck.
I don't really have anything that valuable on there so I'm not opposed to just re-flashing my ROM, but does anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks in advance.
My screen goes blank when I try and press the hangup button. I usually have to press the menu button to make it appear, just so I can hang up.
Also, when I get a call waiting call, my screen also goes blank and I have to press the menu button to get it back, just so I can accept the call.
Drives me crazy! I read that these were firmware issues- so I was hoping it would be fixed.
Also - my phone keeps on restarting in my pocket all the time. I know because I hear the introductory sound sporadically.
Does Froyo fix any of this?
Does anyone have an answer to this??
A firmware upgrade and a factory wipe will most likely fix those issues.
This is a common problem apparently. It was listed in Verizon's secret list of Galaxy S defects. I tried what you said, and it was not resolved with JH2 or a factory wipe.
Does anyone know if it is resolved with the new Froyo upgrade?
I have a situation occasionally where right at the time I have a call coming in, circumstances of using the phone put me at the home screen while the phone is ringing.
When that happens I cannot answer the phone. If I press and hold the home, it does not have anything on the taskmanager to go to to answer. If I press the green phone icon, it takes me to the dialer, which is presented ready for me to dial and a green call button. Still ringing...
Any ideas on how to answer the phone in a situation like this?
I believe you can drag the top bar down and answer it.
had this happen one time. weird. at the exact moment i sent a text to the same person that was calling me. it was ringing in my hand but no where to answer. hit the phone icon and it was just the dialer.

Click to collapse
Yes I think so too. I had this happened once and at the top bar is a green phone icon. Drag the bar down click on phone and it take you to the phone screen to answer.
Wow. Thanks. It is weird.
I'll try pulling down the notification bar next time it happens.
