Got a tablet? Is it in a case? If so, simpleOn is a must have utility. With simpleON, all the user has to do is open the case, exposing the tablet’s light sensor to light, and the screen will immediately power up.
simpleOn is available in two versions. The ad supported Lite version allows the device to turn on using the light sensor, and has an option to start the utility automatically when the device boots. The $0.99 full version removes the ads and adds an option to also unlock the device when the light sensor is exposed. The full version also offers a battery saving sleep function that disables simpleOn during hours the device may not be in use.
You can find simpleON and simpleOn Lite in the Android Market using the following links:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.twistedpixels.simple_on
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.twistedpixels.simple_on_lite
simpleON is the second release from Twisted Pixels Multimedia, who released the unique and highly functional music/podcast player simplePLAY in 2011.

ME572C battery stats

I am used to my phone and tablet having the screen as the number one battery consumer on Android. With this tablet Android OS

is almost always listed first. Is this also true for others out there? In the attached picture it came off the charger recently however even after quite a bit of usage the number one position seems to be Android OS.
I am quite happy with the battery life of this device. The screen not being first is just unusual.
My stats:
I had an app that was causing my issue. The screen is now the number 1 power draw as expected. Thanks again for posting your battery draw screens!

Dorch - Dual TorchIts been a while that some newer devices devices now have both Front and Back flash for capturing photos so there but be an app for toggling both of them as torch.
Features:
Toggle Front & Back Flashlights
Notification Panel Control
Simple & Clean UI
Note:App behaves differently on different devices. On Some devices, both front and back flashlights can be turned on at same time while on some, its not possible due to restrictions by manufacturers. So if on your device, you cannot enable both lights at same time, its not an App bug, its restrictions by OEMs.

I also have the same problem
I also have that effect. One way to make it less visible is using Screen Balance (the app is in the Play Store).
My config: I have it set in Tint (it is in Color Mode that is in the options). Then, on the main page, it is in Fluorescent and in Strenght 5%. I recommend removing battery optimization and blocking it in multitasking, to avoid closing (sometimes it happens anyway).

Luminance Detected : High Ambient Light is Detected Bug

I have created an app called Migraine Relief in Android Studio. What it does is, it changes your screen to green to block blue light from your screen. The problem is for some devices, they get a pop-up (check at the bottom). Saying "Luminance Detected: Hight Ambient light is detected. Do you wish to continue using Dimmer?" There is a bug as pressing on "OK" just opens up the popup again and pressing cancel closes the app and doesn't allow me to start the functionality of my app. Is there any way to prevent this popup from coming up? Because I have lost many users because of this popup issue. I could not find a proper solution for this.

Motorola ET1 "DV PROTOTYPE"

A few years ago, I got my hands on this Motorola ET1. What makes it "special" is that it is a DV Prototype.
This tablet is already obscure enough. Finding anything about it being a "DV Prototype" is even harder. Only one eBay result that was broken.

Just to get it out of the way, there doesn't seem to be any software changes compared to a release tablet, or nothing out of the ordinary, to my knowledge.
A few differences I can note:
- Power button is black, not silver like release.
- Entire back casing (inc. battery) is gloss black. Release was matte black.
- Label under battery has horizontal text. Release model had vertical text.
If someone knows how to dump this version of Android (I sure don't know how), let me know! I do have the files for Android 4.1.1, but want to see if 2.3 could be preserved, as there is only updates available from Zebra for it.
