Guys/Devs,
Im in Sri Lanka, and my CSC package (SLK) is included in the INDIA firmware.
IS it really Important that you have your own country's CSC Installed prior to using your Galaxy Note ?
* I already Know my carrier's Data/MMS settings. I can load it myself.
* Apps like Music Hub Disappear when I switch to my own CSC.
* Google Maps and several more apps are not shown in the market when I use my own CSC.
* Does the CSC affect my Signal strength and my Call Quality ?
+ If its not really important to have your own CSC, Which CSC is the best to use ?
(Best as in All apps working, shown in market, unlocked)
Thanks !
Hmmm, that concerns me about not having access to certain Market apps! I just flashed LB1 Open Germany but my CSC is KOR. I was thinking of switching it to DBT to match my ROM but I didn't know it could cause Market issues.

KOR has all the apps unlocked I guess ...

CSC affects absolutely nothing on your Note (signal strength, call quality), it only affects the Market (which apps are shawn). If it is important for you to have access to local apps, then set your CSC properly. If not, who cares?
I think the best one to use is probably Open Europe, it let's you download almost everything.

Thank you so much chasmodo for the insight !
By Open Europe, Did you mean XEU ?
Answering my own Question -
Open Europe or OXA Package contains..
XEU
XEF
KOR
DBT
ITV
So I guess, XEU is good.
Thanks a lot !
I had Xeu and never got any updates. I now changed to DBT and got latest updates by flashing KK9 Rom first.

Thanks , But DBT is an operator specific code, Isnt it ?
It for Germany and is open I believe. No operator apps are installed

Thank you !
In conclusion, DBT is a good CSC code and Im using it. But still, Some apps like Google maps wont show up. so for that I use Market Enabler and configure as Germany Vodafone.
About APN, the CSC folder has an XML that holds all the APNS. You can just write them down and add them to Apns.conf xml in System/etc. So your APN's will be automatically configured.
Thank you everyone for the help !

I flashed the JS5 the first time with the CSC Xen and modem JPY.

The phone boot up in italian but the samsung market (thaf b4 shown netherlands market)show only a few application (maybe standard 4 all) but not the italian one.
*#1234# show me
PDA :XWJS5
Modem: Jpy
CSC. ITVJp3
Even with the new today samsung market the results are same.
My phone it's not rooted.
Up any idea?
You must to change PC...example - XEU.

I don't think you would have needed to flash the csc to get Italian language to appear, if you flashed WXJS5 XEN, just change the language in Locale and text input in Settings...since this firmware is official for Europe it should fine without changing csc..

Hi all,
how can i read non english language on my note?ita a regional indian language, but appearing all as blocks as shown in screen shot.on widgets and browser too.my note isnt rooted.
btw,i can read the same language without any problem on my ipad browser.
any ideas friends?
The issue is likely the fact that most Android-phones only ship with a very limited set of fonts, like e.g. the ones sold here in Europe do not ship with fonts for non-European countries.
http://chetangole.com/blog/2011/08/enabling-installing-hindi-marathi-unicode-fonts-on-android-mobile/ might help you, but you need be rooted. If you do not wish to root your phone then I do not know of anything you can do.
Change your CSC to india
*#272*IMEI# will show your current CSC.
If india (INU) not available on option, flash multi CSC.
I have used Europe/Germany ROM,In fact at presently I m on LC1 germany, and still i can read indian language support, as I have changed my CSC INU
Note : Changing / Flashing CSC will wipe off data, so make backup before it.

Sent you PM link for multi CSC
Extract that file, N flash with PC Odin
Remember, Not to select 'Re-Partition'
And you have to select field CSC (Not PDA), And as i said you earlier, that will wipe off your data.

Where can I get multi CSC for N7000 JB?
Both *#272*imei# and "Samsung Galaxy CSC changer" app do not work work on my XXLSZ (Netherlands) Stock Rom. I need the Indian CSC to get Devanagari keyboard.
I am currently on DBT CSC (Open Germany N7000OXALC1) stock unrooted.
I want to move to EUR CSC (Greece N7000OXXLA1),
Can I do it by downloading the Open Austria N7000OXXLB3 in order to grab the multi-csc file so i can flash the Greek firmware?
Edit: This zip does not include a multi-csc file, i will download an older open austria firmware version to try find one.
If not, where can i find a multi-csc file that includes Greece(EUR)? (Open Germany Multi-csc file does not include EUR)
why you want to move to EUR you don't get anything new/better and till now DBT was the first to get the updates

The "till now" part of your reply is what got me thinking as well. I've read from quite a few sources that Samsung will develop firmwares for carrier locked models first, and later for the unlocked ones. Now since we have a Greece (vodafone) firmware in the firmware list at sammobile, my guess is that the later will get ICS first.
Multi CSC Wanted with 'XEU' setting
Hello
I have the Galaxy note N7000 - from the UK Carphone Warehouse (unlocked / unbranded) with a kies updated version of ICS from 2.3.6 - 4.0.3
Now the CSC file is set to 'CPW' - no other settings exist.
I have downloaded a few firmware version of the ics 4.0.3 and the more recent German DBT 4.0.4 ICS for the Galaxy note, to mainly extract the Multi CSC file.
However upon doing so and installing, there doen't seem to be any install setting for the 'XEU' - (UK/EURO)?
I set the CSC to 'EUR' - and everything was Greek!! - I know you can set / change the language settings in the main menu, but it's not the same as having the CSC set correctly from the off!
Where can I find a current upto date multi CSC file for the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 that includes all countries including the 'XEU' setting?
Many thanks :good:
I have downloaded and installed Country/Carrier Date Android PDA CSC
Greece 2012 July 4.0.4 N7000XXLRI N7000OXXLP8
from sammobile .. But it doesnt have the picture in picure feature yet in that version. Also i have noticed that the german version has better upgades and that the battery keeps longer.. So i have decided to install this one .. but i want to know if there is going to be any problem because my phone has a lot of csc codes but not dbt. will there be any problem when i install it??? do i need to choose from the ones that my phone has the csc code installed????
o u an install any version

are you sure? I dont want to break it..
Also will it change the csc codes that are installed??
or are they preinstalled fron samsung and they cant be changed ....? Because i would like to change it back to my countrys csc code..
I guess it will remain on ur country's code only cuz when I installed a diff country's firmware on my note the csc retained
As nokiamodeln91 said, csc will remain. It won't cause any problems to have the csc set to anything other than Dbt.

What i want to ask is that my phone doesnt have at csc list the code dbt which represents germany, will i have any problem after installing the german firmware without having the dbt code at my phones list?

no problem..except may be kies / ota updates.. but then u can always download the latest version from sammobile
Actually if you flash by pc odin or mobile odin the csc code is completely obsolete. It matters for ota/ kies updates only.
Sent from my Galaxy Note running ICS
I totally agree. When I flashed XXLRT I got from sammobile, and never bothered with Kies again. PC Odin was more reliable, having more control with the download and flashing. The release of Germany updates is also sooner than Kies or OTA for other phone.
hello everyone.
I have only 1 question, how can i add XEO csc to that ROM. Try to change csc by cscchanger but there is only KOR to choose. Can someone help me to do that ?

Does it matter what csc you're on if you're on a custom rom that is not supported for updates by samsung?
From what I learned CSC has a GSM network settings, and it is connected with the wrong display area code of my country. And a few other settings. Unless I'm wrong and it has no connection with incorrect display of the number.
CSC is not needed at all. None of CM/AOSP roms are using it and phones are working great. There are only provider/language settings and provider's bloatware.
Open one and you can see what's inside.
If anything is wrong with area codes take a look at EFS. Check IMEI. If Internet is not working set up APN manually. That's it.
