So in the last two couple days i've been having a very high android usage even at night. and it's not letting the cpu go into sleep.
Can anyone help me find out what's causing this?

Some device on your network is waking the Note through the wifi. Try sniffing the traffic to find out which and why.

Thank you.
What app do you advise me for the sniffing thing?

go to settings settings>privacy and see if both boxes are unchecked. it does backup of stuff into google server. we don't need that really.

I understand it wastes battery, but my problem isn't related to that because it's ON since day one and i only experienced this drain 2 days ago..
Just reseted the phone and installed apps again it fixes the problem!
Your top three wakelocks are all WiFi related - svnet, wlan_rx_wake and wlan_wake.
Your fourth is sec-battery-monitor - some kind of battery monitor/saver app?
There were lots of cases of people reporting battery app savers/monitors/whatever actually causing notable battery drains, particularly if users don't set their sync policy right.
Let me give you an example: let's say you use some battery saver, and set it to disconnect WiFi when screen locks. Let's also say that you have some app configured to sync at all times. The app tries to connect, but can't, because the battery saver won't allow WiFi connection to be established, so the app tries to sync again and again and again....
And your phone can't get to deep sleep, hence the high battery drain.
Hope this helps.
Dial *#9900# then disable "fast dormancy" and press close.
Monitor your drain over a day and see if its better...

anjath, do you have Scott Adams' permission to reproduce that comic strip of his? I would not post it in your sig if you do not. It would be a breach of copyright, as well as being quite rude.

the official facebook app is un-reliable for me
sometimes i get them, usually not.
i also have facebook set to SMS notifacations to be safe. they have been un-reliable too since i got the android.
sometimes ill get the same message from the app and sms or just one... or neither....
only notifications i've ever gotten have been messages and event invites. responses to status updates never give me notifications.
well went to the settings today in the FB app and checked notifications active and i never turned on refresh interval due to battery consumption but now i get my comments/chat/message all pushed to my phone...well its working for me but hope it works for you guys too!

For some reasons, I can't upload more than one image.
Does anyone knows what's draining the battery here?
My phone had been silent since the night before(according from my time in the screenshot), what's the audio out and why is alarm manager inside when I don't use alarm at all?
:what:
Under kernelwakelock, there's this "PowerManagerService" , "mmc1_detect", "PowerSupply", "suspend_backoff", and a few alarms related using 1minute and so.
Anyone kind to explain a little here?
Thanks for your time.

It's all very well explained in Better Battery Stats help and FAQ section. There is PLENTY of information to be found when using the forum search. You clearly didn't follow the xda rules posted as a sticky in every thread on this forum.
First off, you posted a minor fraction of the information needed to possibly be able to help you. Post "Other", "Alarms", "Kernel wakelocks" and "Partial wakelocks".
audio_out is touch sounds and keypresses as well as dialer tones and keyboard sounds and vibration. Disable the last 4 options under Settings > Sound and disable keyboard feedback.
Alarm manager manages wakeup alarms apps put in place. Wakes the device upon a certain condition. Has nothing to do with wake up clock. In short: during 9h your device woke up 2031 times and stayed awake for at least 5-10 seconds per wakeup, that equals 5.5h awake time for nothing. Check which app ****s with your battery and either configure it correctly or remove it.
PowerManager is a collector bin for all app wakelocks. Separated by app under partial wakelocks.
As said, you didn't move your finger an inch to search for the keywords you pasted here. That's ****ed up behaviour.
Odp: Battery drain results from BetterBatteryStats
Hi. What is wakeup service?

For me, the battery is drained by media and Google services. The Google services is understandable, i use Google Now and services like that, and I don't mind it. But the media is a mystery. I tried formatting my data partition, even reflashing the ROM but to no avail.
Anyway, I tried using other FWs, but the same thing happens. I have no idea why though... Any one having the same problem or knowing the solution? Please help, thanks!

Mediaserver (Media) is the service that handles all pictures, videos, musics in your device, including finding the files so they appear in your album/walkman and providing the file when you're trying to view them.
If you listen to music or see videos or pictures, it's normal that it will take some battery away
dude i have the same problem with battry drain my mobile battry dead in 7 hours 52 min in genral use like whatsapping, massagng and spme time facebook and i have 2g network. i dont know why this battry drains so faster earlier ihave xpeia sola and it stay near 11-12 hours appox with 3g network
i am also having this kind of problem.
battery backup is not upto the mark.
mediaserver takes around 20%battery and google services also takes large amount
Hey all! I think I found a fix (by messing around).
Go to titanium backup, and freeze media storage.
That solved the problem for me
However, you have to unfreeze it to take screen shots.

For Google services, I turned off location reporting and disabled GPS to save battery.
Now my batt goes at 0.5% per hour

Background activity is off, but the app still somehow does something in the background.
Is there an explanation?
Anyway.. what's the best way to save battery? Turn off background network and background activity?
Are there any other ways to stop apps from using battery?

Hi everyone
I have a weird problem, when I'm using my phone and let's say on Instagram sometimes when i refresh the feed it's just doesn't.. i doesn't say you don't have internet connection it just won't load the new posts and keeps the loading indicator rotating
Another app is Spotify when it's randomly playing songs that haven't being played before (not cached) it's stops suddenly of loading the next song and resumes after a couple of minutes
Same problem with tinder not loading the incoming messages
Only can be solved by disconnecting and reconnecting WIFI or using cellular data
My phone is fully stock with the least official update
I've checked:
Background restrictions.
When Spotify or Instagram stuck I swhich to another app say YouTube and it's perfectly working and loading, going back to Instagram and it's still stuck and not loading.
WiFi router is not far away from me so the Signal is strong.
Do you have any idea how can I solve this without resetting the phone ?
Thanks
Did it start with csd1 update?
Thanks for the reply
I actually don't remember but here's the version I'm on now
Current version: N960FXXS2CSBA/N960FOXM2CSA2/N960FXXU2CRLT
Having same issue. One UI. Has been an issue since latest update.

In Android Pie v9.0 in app settings you can turn off battery optimization and it should prevent the app from being put to sleep. Maybe this may help. Or if wifi data saver is turned on this can cause issues also. There is one other menu/screen that allows you to change settings of when/why/which apps and how they are controlled by Android to save power and allows apps to be put to sleep after a certain amount of app unused time, or when it predicts that you are not normally using a particular app at a particular time. I cant seem to recall where I saw it or how I got to it but if I track it down I'll be sure to post the info because I think it may be a likely cause or fix for your issue. Only other thing I could figure it could be the modem firmware that your on is buggy and hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.

Here is what I was looking for. You go to settings>device care>tap on battery>tap three dots top right>tap settings. In there is some stuff that may help with your issue.
Thanks for the reply, I've actually already done that I've disabled all the settings related with putting apps to sleep at device care/battery which doesn't solve the issue
Yet i still have to try un-optimizing the apps surly this would lead to battery drain but let's see what happens.
I'll keep you updated with the results
So I have disabled all of power efficiency related settings in device care/battery section
And also disabled doze optimization for the effected
İ can say it's a lot better now but the issue still occurs
