Hi in your opnions whats the best rom for the s,darkys? Or suggestions welcome,itsfor my better half,she likes it simple,im not beibng a git in saying thT

I'd say its all about personal preference mate, if you want a rom that's quick, with no bugs etc then yeah Darky's is the rom for you. But if you want a ported rom I.e HTC sense, 2.3.4 from the nexus s etc then that can be done but as I said, its all about personal preference as roms are being released nearly every days and each with different capabilities and different features. I'm running Cyanogenmod 7.1 RC1 with Glitch kernel, overclocked to 1.44ghz and it works a treat hope this helps bud

Well... i've been trying the galnet miui and it works wonderfully. Fast, simple, beautiful and easy to install.
Just my opinion... but go and have a look... many are satisfied.

If u are new to flashing stuff, stick with darkky.. its simple, elegant and fast but if u want advanced feature like theming on the go, try miui...(ps: installing miui may not be as simple as darkky) Happy flashing..

The whole sense UI has been ported mate, but data and Bluetooth doesn't work, apart from that everything works I made a video for YouTube, check it out

Ahh i will,ive just also been reading up on darkys extreme edition,and guide to install it,excuse my ignorance ive only rooted my old desire and this one,is that guide right,use odin etc,no need to root her first or?....daft i know

I'm current running Cyanogenmod 7 Nightly #41 and its fast and responsive, but you mentioned your wife likes things simple, so i'd suggest keeping it stock, at least until she says that it is running too slow. Then i'd go for Darky, nice and simple and very few or no bugs.

Or try Juwe's ROM, I like it more than Darky 10.1.

Did debugging mode not work then bud?? Try this. First off, go into settings, wireless and network, USB, then tick Samsung Kies. Then connect your phone to your computer/laptop, wait a few moments, then load Samsung Kies, once loaded, at the top....select tools, then select re-install drivers. This will then install your device drivers again. Keep your phone connected whilst its installing your drivers. Let me know how it goes

Don't get me wrong, galnet miui is fantastic but I don't like family Guy so I don't like the whole stewie thing :-( on not in any way saying it sucks, I just don't like family guy :-(

[Q] Late SMS Problem...still

Hello everyone,
I have an HTC Incredible S from Bell, and a couple weeks ago i upgraded from Froyo to Gingerbread. A few days after that the late SMS problem started to happen. So i rooted my phone to try different roms, nope didn't work. So then I tried a ICS rom and that fixed the problem BUT the camera was messed up and some games(such as Zombieville) didn't work? So now I'm stuck...

You could try flashing a different radio to see if that helps your issue? And ICS camera are not working in any ICS rom.

Ok ill try flashing a different radio in a bit, but on one of the ICS roms it works... its the "Virtuous Quattro"

If it works then why not just stay on that rom? But a new radio should help always helped any issues I had.

Well the pictures glitch out at the top, and what type of radio do you recommend?

You need a GB rom if your now running GB. I had no issues with radio 28. There's a topic a few down with somebody requesting a link for it. Just go there and download it.
Or for the latest I believe which is 29. Go into the dev section. All radios are also posted in the dev section in a sticky topic.

Still have the Nightly on my Laptop, and my backup of it also.

Trust me I've switched to ICS and jb but I keep coming back to 146. I just can't trade ui for broken elements and lag. 146 has no bugs that I can find and everything works as it should combined with simplicity, customization and the functionality of cm I can't stay away. Since the last time I switched I've been waiting for cm10 but it looks like we're not going to get it, so my incs will be locked into 146 until I purchase a new phone. I still can't find a reason to replace this device.

[Q] What are some good ROMs for a tech illiterate friend?

I've been using this captivate that a buddy let me have for a few months now, and I have enjoyed playing around with it. My friend needs a new phone so I am giving him this Captivate and returning to the desire HD that I have. I'm looking for a ROM that is fast and stable but I don't necessarily want to give him a stock odin rom. I am familiar with rooting, recovery and flashing custom ROMs. I've got a few questions and preferences:
I'm looking for something that will boost performance and remove bloat.
I need it to be incredibly stable as I will be flashing it and then it will be out of hands.
I would prefer ICS if possible, but a good stable gingerbread ROM would be fine too.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks man, I'll check them out!

Just a couple quick things to ponder while you are looking into the ROMs. If they need something stable imo gb is gonna be the way to go. ICS you have to worry about the encryption unsuccessful issue that is known to hit the cappy. (you can find the thread about this in the dev section). While there are some really great jb ROMs out there (The Collective included lol) sometimes can still have a few bugs.
BTW @ 4-2ndtwin you missed a ROM lol.

What is everyone using for their ROM's?
I tried upgrading to JB but had major battery drain issues. I am currently using Virtuous Inquisition. I really enjoy using it.

WCX rom until someone solves the ril issue to get Sense 4.0.

flash kozmike kernel (with interactive and deadline choosed while flashing kernel) it is the there just google search it - "HoNest_Installer_v1.2.zip" and "boot for honest.rar". And in venom tweaks - Misc (disable fast dormancy)

PAC v19.0 ..best experience with this hardware yet. Couple minor bugs but overall really great! Not experiencing the same battery issues everyone else seems to be tho..the battery life of this phone has always been just shy of average, but really what more can we ask of a stock battery, powering this much hardware..? I find non-sense roms get much better battery life than those with sense..but that's about all. Its just a power hungry gadget.

I loved ICS too but..a lot of good games just fc on ICS and that will forever be my deal breaker..just try playing eternal legacy..great game btw..
