There is now a way to install CWN in any ROM you want but, since you asked the best and "simplest" way... Here you go.

how can i install CWN in my ROM?
any need to root before installing CWN?
which way is better to use if we put away the word "simple" ?
Look in here a bit down the page you'll read, how to root and you will find MANY links there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105 Decide for yourself, what s easiest for you. Either you flash back to froyo, root it easily and then flash an already rooted ROM. Or you flash one of the V20x files, which will probably delete all your data as well (didnt try it myself). Or you try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1519674 BUT THIS IS EXPERIMENTAL... I guess nothing that will harm your phone, but i cant guarantee, if it works properly. Hope this helps a bit

Easy. Before those step you have to reboot in recovery. When you do that after boot CWM kicks in. For more information look at the ClockworkMod thread. A factory reset is a process deleting every stuff you installed, changed after you but don't forget to backup your apps.)
Flashing superuser.zip can be done in CWM. There is an option i believe it was "update from zip" select it. then select "from sdcard", locate the superuser.zip. press ok. After reboot you'll have root".
I may have forget or confused in steps" it's been a month since i've done it. Check out the thread the read the relevant things carefully before you proceed. But most importantly always remember to backup your apps. So that if you make a mistake you can install them back. ( i didn't mention nandrid backup , coss don't wanna confuse you more)
Latest version is V20. The letter changes form region to region, country to country. For Germany its V20n. Choose from here:

this might be of some help....

NP man. I try to help as much as i can. For CWM i recommend you to install ROM Manager. You can access it from that program. Also can make nandroid backup and everything. Anyway i don't know if you can install superuser after you complete the flashing process. If you wanna give it a try. Install ROM Manager. Go to recovery reboot. Try to install from CWM. Doubt it will work, so if it doesn't you have to go through the steps again unfortunately. Flash the ROM again. This time don't forget superuser.
I don't know about themes, sorry. I change icons, bootanimation manually and use GO Launcher EX for the looks. No standalone themes, no custom ROMs. That question should be for some other person to answer.

Hi everyone,
I know this will make me sound like a complete noob but it doesnt matter. Any help or any pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
I have a stock motorola milestone 2.2.1. I hate it and have read how stable some of the roms are and I would love to experiment with them. However, never having a windows phone or an HTC before I have no idea how to do this with minimizing the risk.
So I have rooted my phone with universalandroot and have installed rom manager and titanium backup. Unfortunately, I read that rom manager wont work with the Milestone.
All of the threads on boot recovery and other methods seem to differentiate from one another. Is there a safeR method. I know no method is safe. What programs do I need to install on my computer and or my phone for this to work?
I know this a lot and I truly appreciate any help and support from this forum.
Thanks

First of all, ROM Manager does not work with the milestone. So please remove it and dont ever install Clockworkmod recovery on the milestone.
Second, What ROM do you want to install?
You need Androidiani Openrecovery for all your flashing needs of customs ROMS. You will need rsdlite to flash sbf files and offcourse the Moto usb drivers. Check the sticky threads in the development section. There are many tutorials.
This is easily one of the best ways to get everything done in the way of flashing a custom ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983516
Depending on which ROM you want to install, it will determine what you need to download.
After rooting the phone, you will want to flash a vulnerable recovery sbf via RSD Lite, as shown in that thread the VR you should use will depend on your bootloader version. If you are running 90.78, then you can flash this VR: http://android.doshaska.net/rootable
After that happens, you can create a backup of all of your apps using TitaniumBackup.
Once you do that you want to place OpenRecovery(AOR) on your SD Card. Follow the steps from the first link I posted to get that on. You will want to place the custom ROM that you want into OpenRecovery/updates. If you are planning on using CM7, you will also need to download google apps from the CM7 thread here.
Once that is on, you will want to boot into recovery(power+x, see the Moto M logo, then release and push camera button+volume up), apply update.zip.
From there you want to select the Nandroid menu with the d-pad. Create a nandroid backup of what you want.
Now is the crucial step. You need to wipe the caches and ALL data. Choose wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache partition and wipe data/factory reset.
Now is time to apply your custom ROM!
It is recommended to create a nandroid backup everytime you flash a custom ROM, in case of anything going wrong.
Navigate to apply update in AOR, select the ROM that you want, select yes. Once it is done installing, wipe the caches and data AGAIN.
If you are installing the google apps, you will want to wipe the caches, flash the google apps, then wipe the caches again.
You will probably have to apply the baseband for your carrier, so you will need to navigate to change baseband, and apply the baseband for your carrier.
If you followed those steps, you should have a brand spanking new custom ROM on your phone.
Hope this helps.
@skadude66
I just really want to thank you so much for helping me with that. Your tips and the link to the guide explained step by step what I had to do.
Right now I am running miui gingerbread on my phone and it runs and looks great. Thanks.

Hi all.
Really sorry cos I'm sure the answer's around here somewhere, but not sure where to look.
Problem is, I had my 2.3.5 rooted and all was ok. I then had a problem a while back with Titanium (paid) backup that said that I wasn't rooted.
I've tried re-rooting and that didn't work, so now I've done a factory reset, cleared the dalvik cache.
CWM is still installed but nothing works on there. Can't install busybox.
Just want to take it all back to fresh and root the phone with the fastest ROM possible.
Like I say, I've looked all over here and various forums but can't find an answer to my specific problem(s).
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks

1)Best way is Nandroid backup means goto CWM recovery and there select BACKUP and whole rom with all ur settings, apps apps data will be backed up on MEMORY CARD(sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/)
2)Just goto CWM do wipe data and factory reset, wipe cache
then goto advanced and wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats
then Select install zip from SD CARD and Start Flashing Zeus.zip that you downloaded and copied to SD CARD.
After Flashing Again do Wipe data and factory reset and Reboot your system
3)I never faced this cache memory low problem but yaa in new stock ROM v20o LG updated Low memory killer parameters so this will eliminate any lags..
I use android Booster app from play store and Set its Auto Optimisation ON so my phone Never get laggy and i use Stock Rooted v20_o btw..
Oh god its like not written for me to update or what :S !
tried unlockroot and superoneclick many times starts with killing ADB server then ends with FAILED TO GET SHELL ROOT and not rooted
any ideas ? sry for bothering
Hey...if you cant root, use smartflashtool to come back to 2.2 then root it, install CWM and install zeus
(Do erase cache, dalvik, factory default)
Btw the problem is not cache but your ram gets full quickly
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
thanks bro but when i got in smartflash tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803 says i got to flash to bk v10A 1st ?!
and if its a yes its also written erases everything on phone..how can i back up my stock rom then to get bk to warranty ( when i wnt ) if i cant use cwm? and how to back it up?!
sry its just confusing me .. thought its gonna be easier xD
- and about ram or cache..it doesnt really matter what is it to me but is there a solution for that if i face it in the new cust rom ? cuz its so irritating i have to clean it up like every hour
v10 is right. It's 2.2, which is rootable with superoneclick.
theaks30 said it already, after you've flashed v10/2.2 and rooted via superoneclick, you can install cwm and flash your favourite rom.
And if you want to restore the stock rom, simply flash the v10 with smartflashtool again and you've a clean non-rooted stock rom.
But if you're phone gets a hardware-error, and you can't turn it on, you logically can't flash back to the stock rom.
Hope, I could help you.
sry but this's not really helping
and im not a tech guy so if anyone please can answer with a clear detailed answer to help i'll really appreciate it
Now i have a stock rom froyo ( unable to get shell root ) and simply wants to upgrade with a custom rom like CM7 or Zues 6.2
1- Want to make sure to get backup of the stockrom with apps and data and everything
2-wanna solve the problem of ( Unable to get shell root )
Smartflash thread intro says IT ERASES EVERYTHING when i flash so is there a way to backup the rom before rooting or flashing or even with this smartflash that i dunno?
Really wishing a clear detailed answer before i get desperate with the new OB xD !
Hmm, okay.
So, which froyo version do you have?
2.2.2 Android Version
this's what i found in About Fone xD !
Yes I know.
But wicht firmware (v10a, v10c?)
sorry not following :d where can i find this ?
Im in egypt and same about the fone if its gonna make any help
Oh w8 i found it : V10H
Okay, I don't know the firmware names in egypt.
Maybe it's the old one. (like v10a in germany)
Then you can root with gingerbreak.
Google for it.
If not, you can use superoneclick, but you've to add these steps with cmd.
http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/lg_p9..._optimus_black_root_methoden.html#post1626677
I know, it's german, but I think you understand what to do. If not, ask me, then I can translate the part.
Good luck!
Edit: If gingerbreak is not working, this should be much easier.

Hello Guys, I was thinking to root my phone and install JellyBlast Rom. Can you please tell me ALL the precautions I should take before rooting my phone (with tutorial link)? I heard that we have to flash a file to make a FULL backup and other things. And will it be safe to install JellyBlast Rom? Is it working?

See the first post in this thread for all the instructions and files you will need:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551156
If you are thinking of flashing custom ROMs then yes, I would personally make a "Full backup with CWM to ODIN format" of your firmware. This will back up everything including your IMEI number which can sometimes go missing.
If you wish you can also make a partial backup with Clockwork Mod Recovery and use the Galaxy Toolbox app, available in Play Store, to make a backup of your IMEI number. These are easier and more convenient when it comes to restoring.
Just follow the instructions carefully and the rooting will go just fine, its not that risky. Which JellyBlast Rom, there's two now? They're both quite new so you may want to wait a short while for others to give their feedback. You almost certainly won't hard-brick (unrecoverable) your phone by flashing a ROM for the correct model of phone but soft-bricks can sometimes happen.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot, Bro. I will make both backups to be safe. I didn't like the Simpilicity Jellyblast, But I liked the JellyBlast V3.0.3 one, But which firmware is better XXLI (In Simpilicty) or VJKL4 (In V3.0.3), I think XXLI is better because it is the latest firmware in my Country (India). What do you think? Can you suggest any other Rom? Is Pimp My Rom mod safe to use on our phone? It makes phone faster right?
EDIT: I made a Full backup. Now I have 6 Files on my SDCARD that CWM_BackUP_FW_ODIN.zip made:
bml15_EFS.img
PDA_S5830C.tar
CSC_S5830C.tar
BOOT_S5830C.tar
CSC_S5830C_clean.tar
PHONE_S5830C.tar
Now if I soft brick my phone can I use these files? If yes then which of these? Because ODIN Has only 4 option and here are 6 files.
No problem. I would have thought you would have been OK with either firmware but someone else might be able to give you a better answer on that. Yeah XXLI is the latest firmware available anywhere.
I'm using the AceCream v1.4 ROM at the moment, its stable, very fast and stylish but I'm not sure whether its still being actively developed. It depends what you're looking for, take at look here and follow the links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30731157&postcount=2
Yeah you can use these files to restore via Odin in Download Mode:
PDA_S5830C.tar
CSC_S5830C.tar
BOOT_S5830C.tar
PHONE_S5830C.tar
I think CSC_S5830C_clean.tar is a generic, possibly empty CSC image, not an actual backup, you can probably swap this for CSC_5830C.tar if you ever want to clear your Consumer Software Customization data.
bml15_EFS.img contains your IMEI and network/region lock info. You can't flash this with Odin, you would have to do it manually via command line but you're better using Galaxy Toolbox to be honest.
I think Pimp My Rom works but may not work straight 'out of the box', Adrenaline Engine also works and is included in some of the custom ROMs. For both of those you'll want/need the [email protected] S5830i custom kernel (search XDA).
Thank You a million times! I had so much confusion... Thanks again

I recommed you to install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986097
You have to install NVflash version, in topic is detailed how-to do it
you can install the standard version.. the extended version is for 512 system partition only, but i recommend to you the standard, just flash it through CWM and don't forget to create a folder external_sd to your internal storage to access your SDcard..
Thanks! @juannu But for my personal knowledge, why should I use Nvflash instead of flashing with CWM:silly:? @vEget I will try what you said thank you
IMO NVflash is easier and safier Of course you can also install CMW-version
