Box.net offering Free 50Gb Lifetime Cloud Storage to Android Usrs - Captivate Themes and Apps

Box.net is offering free 50GB cloud storage for life if you sign up from your android. DL the app, sign up with a new email address and upon completion it gives you a message that you now have 50Gb. Normally it is only 5Gb so this is a heck of a freebie.
Not sure how long it lasts so go get it.
Please remember to hit the thanks button!

Yes it is this has been out for a loooong time. And there is a 100mb upload limit (ouch!)

I only just heard about it but double checked... this deal has been going on for four days for Android users. Hardly a looong time. Further I did not see it posted anywhere and so thought some folks could actually benefit from knowing.
Oh and since you knew about it for so looong, where is your post letting the rest of us know about it?
But hey, thanks for being a thread-crapping douche rather than a contributing member. I'm sure we all appreciate your involvement.

Thanks! I have NOT heard about this yet. Its always nice to have backup space, especially 50gb of cloud storage.

So, box.net has been offering 50GB to LG users for awhile and the post you reference seems to confirm what i said... that the deal for all Android users has only been live since the 23rd. You will notice that I posted this in a Samsung thread who's users may have missed this posting in an LG thread-I know I did and I even searched for it.
Again though, I was just trying to help people and he was just trying to thread crap. I'm pretty comfortable with calling him a douche for it.
I apologize to anyone else I may have offended with my coarse language.

Literally just downloaded the app and registered from the app itself. After putting in an email and password, I got a message that says I was upgraded to 50gigs for life.

Thats because you should have. The promo is still running. The guy before you was talking about the storage space dropbox.com offers

Can anyone confirm if the 50GB free is over? I just read this thread, installed Box from the Market, and I only have 5GBs...

To answer the basic question, you have to actually post it in the Google Marketplace. Not sure the procedures to do that, though.
On another note...you said this is a paid app you got for free. Do you have permission from the developer to offer it on the Marketplace? If so, are you offering it for free or as a paid app? If it is a paid app, I think you have to have some form of merchant account with Google (not sure about that one).
Now for everyone else: Just because someone is a senior member doesn't mean they know everything about Android. I'm disturbed that just because a senior member asks a question, some of you assume that they should already know the answer and considers them an idiot for asking. I'm a senior member and I don't know everything there is to know about Android, so does that make me an idiot? I think not.
So, for those of you who decided to flame cp0020 for asking a question...unless you have something constructive to say relating to any question posted, keep the comments to yourself.
We're not here to start flame wars. We're here to help people.
Buy we are also not here to promote theft either! Unless the app is available from the developer on this site it elsewhere and the developer knows that people are using his paid app for free, then you don't need to be ****ting the hand that feeds you.
Unless youre a feces eating freak.

thanks man. finally someone that understands. i honestly dont understand why people are getting so upset. is it their app? no. and like i said, its not like i paid for the app and am giving it to people for free. i just downloaded something that 100,000 other people already downloaded. if nobody likes the fact the i downloaded an app that 100,000 other people downloaded then fine, go get pissed off and cry in a pillow somewhere else. like tkirton said.... xda is about helping people out, not starting flame wars because you have a different opinion than others.
I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes I wonder if some people do that to get their posts counts up. But, what I said doesn't stem from just this conversation. I see too many times where people asks questions only to get flamed, and it really bothers me. I've been flamed before on my Apps2SD by someone who was trying to say that the Apps2SD in DamageControl was better than mine, but he didn't say what about it was better...he just simply trashed my program.
And this is one of the reasons I don't ask what are the base addresses for the Desire and Legend so I can look at some roms for Apps2SD diagnostics.

You've got a point... that's why i rarely help out around here unless I am feeling good... the way people are around here sometimes can leave a bad taste in your mouth...
Some things are better left unmentioned to be honest. I would make an attempt at getting someone to help me in private rather than ask for public help in a specific situation such as this. I don't take lightly to things like this. I would be pissed.

Free 50GB cloud storage at Box.com for LG (and Xperia) users!

I've had a Box account for 1 month now. And their free box is 5GB. From Nov 30, 2010 to December 31, 2012 though, a deal between LG and Box will upgrade your storage to 50GB for free!
I already tried it. (I faked my SIM as T-mobile just to be sure though, as the promo did say that it's supposed to be for US folks only. )
Have fun boys and girls!

it works for me (from SG), but the bad thing about box.net is that theres a file size limit. useful for songs and pics, but not for uploading rom backups
still sticking to dropbox

Box.net is kinda crappy on the file size limit (25 MB or 100 MB).

10 GB Free Online Storage & Unlimited Bandwidth

I wasn't sure who I should say something too, but there is a better service for free unlim bw hosting and more space than Dropbox. It's minus.com if you just create a public folder for say each phone or each phone&rom combo and link the folder page it gives unlimited bw, if you just hyperlink straight to the rom then at a certain point it gets throttled, but never turned off or suspended.
Also use my link and get instantly 1GB extra and everyone you refer gives you more space, up to 50GB -> http://min.us/rucQ78U
They have both desktop & Droid programs & all URLs are short.

Hooray! 50 GB Free Storage with your Nexus 4

For those lucky ones who already got their Nexus 4! I'm still on the waiting list... damn you Google!!!
http://www.androidcentral.com/lg-nexus-4-qualifies-50gb-free-boxnet-cloud-storage
As it's being sold primarily by Google through the Play devices store, it's easy (and accurate) to think of the Nexus 4 as a Google device. But it's still an LG-made phone, and as such qualifies for 50GB of free space on Box.net, thanks to a partnership between manufacturer and cloud storage provider.
To claim your free space, simply log into the Box.net app from your Nexus 4, and upon loading the app for the first time, you should see the message above, informing you that your cloud storage allowance has been upped. And as part of a time-limited deal, Box is also allowing you to share your good fortune with friends or co-workers, giving them access to 50GB too.
The promotion runs until Dec. 31, so you've got plenty of time to bag some extra bits, and free up some of the Nexus 4's precious (and limited) internal storage space. Check the Google Play link above to grab the official Box.net app for Android.

XDA Pro App - laggy and slow

This app is always really unresponsive, especially in first use. Trying to scroll a page can cause freezes for a few seconds.
Not seeing this with any other function. Stock Google factory build with Franco kernel running stock settings.
I bought the app for simplicity and speed over having to use a browser but the browser is normally faster?
Ideas?
Its junk and I would never pay for it. I prefer XDA desktop in Dolphin browser!
XDA app is really weak. You can try tapatalk, but it's also slow while scrolling, etc. Just poor coded apps from what I've been told. You can try tweaking your system to improve performance in the app, but it won't be perfect.
aosp browser with xda only, no apps needed nor wanted. always fast this way
I've said a million times the only reason I use Tapatalk is because there aren't any alternatives. XDA app is pretty much the same thing.
I cant complain about app, its works, notification works fast, no problems, sometimes kinda slow loading, but never crash
Good to know. Surprising given the skill of many people on this forum, a simple app like this should be perfect..... They have my money so too late for me! Back to the browser.

Its just that there are hardly any good alternatives. Most forums apps you can find will be based on the Tapatalk API anyways, too.

Can't come fast enough. I do have a feature request for XDA One. I want it to data mine all the links I press and send me to an XDA redirect that's down half the time, pr2-xda-devolpers.com. Make that happen, and I'm on board. Oh, and I want little XDA branding on all the screenshots I upload.

Check out this article from The Portal, specifically the middle of paragraph 2.
Please don't ask details, cause I won't be giving any. But just know that we have something around the corner. :victory:

O frabjous day, calloo callay! This is pleasant news because I don't think it can be overstated how ghastly and absolutely horrid the Tapatalk user experience and design are.
Looking foward to the new app however; it's obvious the current one is lacking and far behind
That is wonderful news. I have one question not related to the actual development of the app, will it replace the free and premium apps or become a new app? (Reason being is I bought both Tapatalk and XDA Pro)
Try Tapatalk, it just got better.

You aren't kidding. Thanks for the heads up. There wasn't any update on the store...was it an API change?

Does that mean that the XDA app will get the same update?
