You can't be serious!
SE delaying a release, shocking!!!
I'm sorry for the sarcasm but SE has NEVER released a device on time, EVER.
who the hell cares
honstly i dont know why sony should bother. i for one dont really care anymore if it ever gets released
they did not bother fixing the the biggest issue with the x1 (the extremely poor performance). they just added more performance sucking features like the winmo 6.5, new applications/customization and 8,1 camera and kept the same slow driverless QC7200 528mhz chipset] just to guarantee that it will lag even more than the X1. after seeing the HD2 performance and comparing it to every "fast" 6.5 rom on the x1. it becomes evident that anything less than snapdragon is just not worth it anymore on highh-end phones
and then there is the problem of ~700euro price. please SE spare us your crap. the omnia pro has been available for several months now and it has better specs (AMOLED 3.5 screen,800MHZ, compass, samsung build quality (not the unproven mobinovva quality) and its less than 400euros
and dont even get me started on the lack of XDA-devs support which is probably probably the reason why i haven't regretted buying the X1
if i were you, id just use the X1 untill a suitable replacement like the tpro3 (i dont think SE will ever release the x3 since i dont expect them to do well with the x2). if you cant wait that long just get the hd2 now. i did not miss the HW keyboard with that 4.3" capacitive screen
yea dont go for the x2, its not worth it, or even for the tp2 for that matter. The only thing the new phones really have on the X1 is a bigger screen and accelerometer which to me isnt that big a deal. Not worth another 300- 500$ for a slightly upgraded device anyway...
I doubt that you will see any significant performance gains with any of the new WM devices from SE or HTC using the same MSM7200 ****. I plan on hanging onto my x1 another 5 months or so (or at least until the housing completely breaks) hoping something better rolls along, or I can get my hands on an X10.
1. who care when they can be ported to x1
2. what does this have to do with rom devolopment of xperia. if u wana post it, atleast do it in the right section....either xperia genereal or off-topic
cheers
I say this should be moved to xperia general subforum
Well, seems like they've had issues with all the newly released phones lately (as in Satio and Aino), so not surprising they'd have issues with X2.
their half hearted [email protected] entering the windows mobile market have failed miserably in my opinion. the X1 and x2 were delayed because of software (that no one really care about). almost all cooked roms have tf3d and most roms dont have any of SE unpracticle crap like the useless panels and the very untouch friendly interface.
i think sony may have a chance of not failing if they change the hardware to snapdragon but thats very unlikely because SE are simply not capable of doing such task at such short notice. i dont see the point of releasing x2 with the slow CPU even if they reduce the cost there is just not enough interest.

I disagree
May I ask: currently, which windows phone has the better camera of all ??
To me, and considering Rhodium's toyish 3.1 MegaPix camera, Diamond2/Topaz's bring-your-flishlite 5 MegaPix camera, and HD2's "viagra effect" 5 MegaPix camera, the X2's 8 megapixels camera alone is reason enough to upgrade from X1 to X2
Just my oppinons after 2 weeks using the X2 camera for a daily basis (my cybrshot is busy accumulating dust in my room)
PS: THIS FORUM NEEDS ACTIVE MODS. THIS THREAD SHOULD BE MOVED TO THE GENERAL SUB.
HEY WE DESERVE MODS TOO HERE @ HTC'S BASTARD SIBLING (kovsky) FORUMS !!
i will definitely buy the X2 if it is available now in local market ... and for lower price
Hd2 is a wonderfull phones, but have too many isuues, no tv-out, non videocall, really bad camera, price too hight, and ...its too big.. Xperia x2 have no one of this problems.. i will go for x2 if this one day will come..

i agree
for me as X1 user the X2 is an must-have.....
here my points why i want to have it:
1. CPU seems to have full power now and not throttled to 400MHz
2. camera (i would bet its the module from C905 so i expect great quality)
3. 3.2" display is absolute perfect size (big enough to use finger and not too big so i can reach the whole screen with one hand and thumb)
4. no dust-collecting edge on display
5. best battery lifetime of all WM devices like X1 before (with TP2 together strongest battery but smaller display)
6. stereo speaker with hopefully great sound quality (some people compared it with W995, Nokia 5800 ams Samsung i8910 (i also own the nokia and the samsung)
7. a much better keyboard than the X1 (but X1 keyboard was already very good for me)
8. Amazing, smooth animated tilewave panel i tested on my X1
9. panels are very useful for me (on the road, tilewave, WM Homescreen, SPB Mobile shell, Facebook i use very often) and damned fast now also on X1
10. the great continous support with 48h repair warranty
that are 10 reasons to by the X2 for me and these reasons are worth the 510€ in switzerland for me........
and to the "slow" CPU:
what do you expect from snapdragon???? only that start menu scrolling is smoother than with MSM7200????? damned guys think about it!!!! the only reason for snapdragon would be to play high res 3D games with iPhone graphics...... but when do you think such games will come????? the game developers have to spend more ressources in game developement like xtract which works perfectly with the 7200 hardware...... or what would you say if you have to buy a PC with a 1000€ CPU to play a game on PC doesn't support hardware accelleration????? and for alle other usages the X1 was already fast enough and if you use the Touch HD video converter from the Blackstone thread you can also watch 800x480 videos smooth on X1!!!!!
and a last thing:
the X2 is the inly actual device with this complete hardware bundle and qwerty keyboard and with SE quality on the market....... and these Omnia Pro ****???? i have the first omnia and its slower and more laggy than my 5800 nokia crap and the omnia 2????? i read some test reports and it is the same **** like the one before...... Samsung is too silly to make good wirking and useful software for its devices and SE does this much better almost on the 2nd run!!!!!
EDIT: ah sry for my bad english i'm from germany ;-)
I agree completely with Jerpelea and others who like the X2. I was thinking of going in for an HTC HD2 but am now not so sure. I need a keyboard and a good camera and enough real estate to read ebooks and browse the web comfortably. It seems the X2 will be able to do all these things well. As for Snapdragon, many reviews of the HTC HD2 have complained about the "lagging" and the terrible battery life. I guess it all boils down to what you want a device for.

Hi all,
I recently broke my dell streak, and looking for a new phone now...
I can't make my mind betwenn optimus 2x, atrix 4g and nexus s, thought will get your input on this.
I am ok with rooting and loading custom rom... may be not changing the screen of the mobile that's how I broke the streak
I am hoping all three phones I am looking at will have decent performance. I am looknig for a mobile with a decent video recording capablity and decent battery life. I read some of the threads here and looks like some of the members are unhappy about their camera.
What you think about LG optimus 2x camera? do u think its better than Atrix 4g ones? I guess Nexus is totally out of picture...
What would be your choice?
Thanks in advance for your help
O2X hands down.
CM7+latest kangs and you are flying!
I had the same deal, and i finally get the o2x and it rocks!!! Even in Stock is awesome!
I am with oleg1981, the 2X fly and have great developers.
Get de Atrix de o2x has inferior build quality and if it wasn't for developers constantly working hard at tweaking here and there it wudve been a really sad phone but whatever yu decide yu will enjoy it because of the great support from developers

Hi all,
Thanks so much your input. Just wondering if you have any comments regarding tht camera quality? I read some threads where they were complaing about the quality of the camera your thoughts on that will be really helpful.
Cheers
The camera is great

The camera is great if you are running a ROM based on the stock LG software. It's not that great when running on CM7 due to loss of frames when recording video in low light.

Hello!
Camera is ok if you use it in good light conditions and in short distance with the flash. It isn't very good when used in dimmed/low light or twilight.
BTW: CM7 camera is ok now. As now almost everything is working well on Cyanogenmod 7 with custom kernel (even all sensors) - but only the FM radio - that is working much better with stock based custom roms.
I can't say much in comparison to the cameras of the Atrix or the Nexus S.
The camera of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is definitely much better though.
But there are test about that (concerning camera quality) available on the internet - as a German yoke says ask the nice Indian (internet with Saxon dialect tongue = "Inder nett" )
The Atrix by the way sounds very good on paper (more RAM, faster CPU) and should be a really decent phone too - but it is a little bigger - IMHO the LG O2x has the right size - didn't want a bigger phone with more than 4".
True the camera is better than it was before (brightness has improved). I still miss the full frame recording of the stock rom.

Hi all,
Thanks very much for your replies. Its been really helpful. I am going to pick one up this weekend...
You should choose between Atrix and 2x, Nexus S is single core...the past now.
My advice is 2x.

Affordable piece of great hardware ... I am really very happy with it, although big parts of this is based on the work of developers here on XDA.

ohhh, really?
At the time I bought mine it cost about half the price of similar performing phones.
I like that.
Also, some excellent mod roms (Temasek, Django, Gueste) so the crappy LG software implementation doesn't matter (although the latest official roms might be OK (?) but they were NOT when I bought the phone, lol).
And some excellent kernels too.
I liked the hardware.
The solid feel of the phone, not to mention the IPS screen which I found much better than the SGS2's AMOLED display at the time of buying (about a year ago). Price was good too.
It's size is also a winner in my books, I wouldn't really want to go any bigger height wise.. so I'm not sure what my next upgrade is going to be considering the trend in modern android phones is BIGGER IS BETTER

looooooool. if i had a note i think id sell it right away and buy a 4x or a one-x XD
What I like:
The speed of the phone, all possibilities of kernels and roms meaning that we have first class devs working on it hard to share the best of them selves and of course the design are amazing compared to other devices
Now, what i don't like are the memory, even my defy MB525 has better ram memory and the fact LG are to slow releasing stock ics
All and all I love this phone, I also bought a new one after breaking the glass after a massive fall
Mostly thanks to Spica and Carburanos work in addition to hei125, owain, Flix, and all the rest i don't remember while while writing and driving my car
Sent from latest Django Manouche with latest Spica Kernel
What i like about my LG Optimus 2x is the built quality.Had at least 3 to 4 falls & slips from hand, still my O2x is functional and bear only a scratch on bottom.Loved the IPS display.Picture and vids look so true to eye.Was bit disappointed with it's single mono speaker as was in an illusion that O2x had stereo speakers.
Audio quality was so low but thanks to O2x Developers and xda this problem is thing of past.HDMI was another feature which attracted me as now i could share all my precious moments with friends and family. When bought LG Optimus 2x it was the only Dual Core smartphone in the market and later on other smart phones featured
the same but still far more expensive than O2x.LG support for O2x from FROYO 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3.4 was sh***y but the developer community whether CyanogenMod or XDA community had made this device a success for us.
Would like to thank spica, carburano,SuperSkill, flix, temasek,Stefan Gündhör,Topogigi,paulobrien,erestor6,Hell_97 and all those developers who had made O2x not only suitable for daily use but revolutionized it much further.Cheers to all of them. This developers community also made me like my O2x verrrrrry much.So luck to have them all developing for our O2x which has been abandoned by LG.
HDMI
What I most like is the HDMI output. It´s REALLY usefull when you don't have a media player, on a friend's house or at your own place.
Almost everyday I watch movies via MXPlayer or Netflix.
Ps.: Now I'm waiting for a ICS Custom ROM with Video Decoding/Encoding working to get it even better.
previously i had HTC hd2...really rocking phone...with android....stilll now it rules in single core..coming to dual core for more performance.....LG 2x......really awesome with almost all feature.....made to work by XDA developers..............thanks all...!!!.............is thr any way to include WIFI direct in LG 2x.......i tink tats missing in our droid....
The xda community developing

and the build quality is amazing. We have also the best devs
BEST part is that it is cheaper(for the kinda hardware it has)

It's a vast topic and I've only had my Xperia T for a couple of days, so I can't properly quantify battery life just yet, but here goes.
Overall, I'm going to say, "no, the Xperia T isn't better than the S III." The S III is, for me, a more complete package. That's not to say that the Xperia T is bad, not by a long shot, but it doesn't feel so all-encompassing as the S III. The S III wins on points rather than a knock-out, but from the top...
The Xperia T's screen is beautiful. It's sharp and responsive and has BRAVIA. The Samsung's screen feels overly saturated, but it's also a beautiful one. I've found the S III's screen to be a little bit more responsive than the T but I prefer the Sony colours.
As far as performance and feel go, both feel fluid and responsive and both will very occasionally jerk or stutter, but the S III does it that little bit less than the Xperia T. I feel like I'm splitting hairs here. It isn't a deal breaker for me.
The S III's camera is very impressive indeed. I was a little disappointed with the Xperia T's camera; more pixels, but not set up from the factory to be so fast. With some tweaking (enable touch take) it's much better, but when working with images, the Xperia T is noticeably slower. Sure. Fewer pixels to shunt around memory and a more capable processor (depending how we measure it...), but this is where the Xperia disappoints me.
What they look like is personal preference, but at the moment there are way more cases and accessories for the S III compared with the Xperia T. The S III is much thinner, the Xperia T is more comfortable to hold than the Xperia S and as great as the S III - but this is as much down to personal preference as anything. I don't much mind for soft buttons or real buttons, both work just fine (and I adapt between them).
It feels like a moot point, but I don't like Samsung's default keyboard one bit. I use SwiftKey 3 and I use it on both devices, so nae bother the big yin as you can change it. Likewise with ICS you can disable junk you don't need, but the Xperia T comes with more stuff on there that I don't need.
For me, it comes down to speed. The Xperia T is a fast and fluid handset, but the S III feels that little bit quicker and more fluid. If you've used neither then you probably won't feel that big of a difference.
Hopefully that helps. The Xperia T plays the value card and it's a decent handset, but the key strength of the camera feels just a little bit hamstrung by the device being slower than the Samsung flagship.
Hi guys
Loved my Xperia S but returned it due to problems(screen) within 30 days from amazon. I have the galaxy s3 (New upgrade) but its going back for the Xperia T, the hardware on the s3 is great, still not sold on Amoled screen though, love the software on the Sony, Xperia T arrives on Monday hope I've made the right decision glad Sony now allow micro sd or wouldn't of bothered.
The Xperia T feels really solid compared to the S3 which feels cheap.
It's having an very unique and great look.
Sony's software is so much better than overbloated Touchwiz.
It's not having 1000 features added like Touchwiz, but i'm not using that stuff anyway.
I prefer clean software. Everything is where you would expect it.
Sony's software is mature and not childish like Touchwiz.
No annoying sounds and colors.
I'm really impressed.

Bought Xperia T
I bought today Xperia T. I've tried S3 for a week. It is really difficult to say wich one is better. My choice was Sony because... I like Sony.
Size, Apps - personal preferences
Speed - very close
Quality - both very good
Buttons - I like S3 main button, but I've missed camera button even more
Battery - Hard to say. I was using both phones a lot, and i don't say any bad words about any of them. But You can't use a spare battery with Sony. But I never used any spare one with any other phones.
Only one big thing for Samsung. DEVELOPERS.

Okay, I am completely sold. Getting the T. Next week. CAN'T WAIT !
Just swapped Galaxy s 3 for Xperia T a few days ago.
Pros:
1. The Software is way better on the Xperia T. Love the task manager with small apps. Xperia link with my Xperia tablet s is a god send.
2. Dedicated Camera button is a must for decent photos.
3. I prefer the colours of the Xperia Ts Screen.
4. The speaker quality is brilliant in calls and movies.
5. Headphone sound quality is richer.
6. Phone is sturdier and feels like a premium product.
7. Keyboard has better sensitivity.
8. PlayStation gaming coming soon, rumoured full wireless dual shock 3 support
9. GPS lock on is fantastic. Really quick and gets it even inside my house.
10. The Xperia T gui is just as smooth as the galaxy s3 and the speed is just as fast in loading and running apps bar some intensive games.
Cons:
1: Games run better, more smoother on the s3 (on really demanding games)
2. Development/community is better on s3
3. Looks like the s3 has jellybean first
4. No burst mode on the Xperia T camera?
5. So far battery life seems better on the s3 but that may be as im hammering the Xperia T as its new.
6. More official accessories available on the S3, where are the Xperia T official cases?!

For the cons I've highlighted above I'd say that they are obvious due to the fact the S3 has had a good few months to build this developer base and also for retailers to release accessories. Only way to do a like for like is give the phone x more months and then compare how the S3 is now to how that is in the allotted time. If you look at the S3 after a week from release date all the available ROM's/mods/accessories weren't there straight away it took time to build up. For these reasons none of these are cons for me
Oh and I'm also looking at the Xperia T as my next phone in November unless Google makes an exciting announcement on the next Nexus phone/series by then.

Only thing is I kind of want to wait for the next Nexuses... But I'm kind of thinking of using my XDA ERD perk to get the TL and then personal cash for a Nex.

I appreciate this unbiased comparison.
I want to upgrade from my Galaxy S2 soon and i am tempted by the Xperia T,
I played with an instore demo and it felt slightly slower then the S3 in store demo. It could of been because of every single timescape widget running lol.
i wanted to remove the widgets and reset the phone but i think the store would frown on that.
So it's only a little slower and may lag/stutter slightly more?
The screen - the timescape interface is so dull it doesn't do it justice. I watched a demo video showing sea life etc and it was incredible. Yet Gsmarena tested the phone and it's viewing angles and contrast ratio is below that of the iphone 4 (a 2 year old screen). that was disappointing. Now i don't know what to think
But it's so much more comfortable in the hand...i know i will drop the S3!
I personally find it quicker than my S3 in day to day use, chrome also runs a lot better.
Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Sony Xperia Z5, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Sony Xperia Z5 is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
The best companion for me. Best cam, amazing audio, great gaming feel and the best fluidity
And lack of development...no custom roms, no cust kernels.. Thats the only thing i dont like about z5

The stock ROM is so good in this device, I would probably just stick with it. Unlike Samsung Galaxy phones which ruins the stock google experience, this one doesn't. It used to stutter and lag a lot on Lollipop, but after the Marshmallow update, 99% of the lag is gone.
i love it pretty, powerfull and slick
Obviously it's the best phone i've ever owned, coming from a nexus 4 and a moto G. Build quality, design, the beautiful screen, playstation exclusive features ( WHICH NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT FOR SOME REASON, EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE AWESOME???), the camera is great if you know how to utilize it, almost stock android experience. The only downer is the camera software, algorithm and the lack of full manual controls and RAW.
I had this phone for a while before giving it to my mom and stick to my old Z1.
Camera have very fast focus speed and good WB. Just need a better image processing software.
Stock Lolipop is buggy and very late Marshmallow update compare to other brand's 2015 flagship device. However, It's worth to wait because most of bugs were fixed.
I love frosted glass at the back too, easier to keep it clean than a glossy one at Z1.

To be fair, and assuming you are talking about the remote play stuff, the reason people don't talk about this is that it's not exclusive really. Some clever people ripped it and modified the apks so they will work on pretty much any phone. Not only that, the modded version is actually better as it removes the WiFi requirement so you can use it over a good 4G connection too!
Still awesome features, just not unique.
The Z5 is great, the Marshmallow update has boosted it a lot, thats for sure.
The camera isn't that great when it's a little darker. (Black becomes purple/blueish?)
The front camera is terrible when its darker.
My overall experience is still 5/5 because the sound is great, it has a really good battery life, and it never freezes or random reboots.
Great phone!
I tried to make love to it. Now I have a sticky phone
love it, but i hope there will be other CM or AOSP ROM so the phone could do more like Nexus 6P
I love my z5, i love sony since the very beginning. (since sony ericsson)
And like it or not, sony has the most stable android version, eventhough they are very slow at updates.
Im pretty satisfied with sony.
The only bad thing is, how hard it is to root sony and do stuffs like that.
Security and these stuffs make us harder to costumize our own phone.
I know sony have their own reasons. But at least, give us the simple damn chance to root our phone without unlocking bootloader

Absolutely love it!!! Moved from Z2 and it's the best phone I ever owned. Not sure why so many people have problems as I have not experienced any so far
Sounds like a defective unit, return it immediately.
Clearly I got a dud give the high ratings of this topic. The audio using Sony 5-pin headphones is ok but not great if you're after true HiFi clarity and audio detail. But trying to use third party standard pin headphones or line connections is a complete joke due to the phone not recognising the connection about 75% of the time and just spitting out hideous humming and buzzing noises. This was present from the word go and no method of cleaning inputs has helped. And the fingerprint sensor only works half the time with no rhyme or reason as to why it won't recognise the print. I have two Samsung devices and both have absolutely no issues whatsover.
So if this my lover, they'd be out the door with their bags trying to find a new home.
The best smartphone I've ever had.
Every Sony I get is just better every time.

It is one of the most beautiful devices currently! There are times when I'm looking at and admiring the device!
Pretty dissapointed with this device after having it for less than 4 months and moving from LG G2 and HTC M8.
Problems:
- landscape/portrait orientation switching stops working after some time, reboot of the unit gets it back alive, temporarily (happens after Marshmellow update)
- Yelow ghostly spots have started showing up on the upper left edge of the screen, most likely due to overheating (I'm using phone a lot )
- Finally, few days ago when I rinsed my unit in clean, tap water, some of it entered the unit and made it's place under the screen, making upper left corner of the screen (water entered from headphone jack?) glowing like it has brighter spill...
All in all, I wille try to return this expensive piece of faulty electronics, but I guess they will not accept to give me some other device...
Sony was my first Android device, but now I'm confident that it's the last one as well...
+ love the stock rom look
+ Super Video recording image stabilization
- Awful lag before starting video recording
+ Great photos in good light
- not so amazing purple & bluish tint in low light
+ Great sound
- Cheap headphones included
- I miss glossy glass back
Overall not so much impressed, but still a great phone.
