Over downloading Mediafire links for the latest version of Tapatalk, I found myself running into an app almost alike.
The app is called Forum Runner.
Two things...
#1. The free version does everything Tapatalk does and more, downfall is you can't post attachments.
#2. The Dev himself told me that in the paid version you'd soon be able to add your favorite unlisted forums.
So should you try? Yes.
I didn't post attachments when I had Tapatalk because the quality had become shot out.
Give a go.

Well it seemed like a really nice app...right up to the part where I hit 'reply' and it told me that was a premium feature...I don't mind paying for an app but that's such a basic function it should really be included in the free version.

I used this app for a while and I swear I remember reply working just fine. Then a couple of days ago I tried it after uploading a new ROM and all of a sudden reply became a premium feature... that's garbage.
Tapatalk looks nice but?
How can I find out if the forums I use regularly work with tapatalk? With no free lite version it is difficult to know if it s a good investment or not. People keep referring to Tapatalk or XDA but surely the XDA app is just for XDA Dev forums and not for multiple forums (fora?) - I think developers would sell a lot more copies of good apps if they made trial versions available.
Are there any other multiple forum readers out there?

Go to the website on your phone and it should pop up a message. If not, then it probably isn't supported.

Here is my attempt to bring back this application as I seen it now being useful.
Here's the big issue everyone has. Downloads. This Database attempts to solve all of your downloading woes with a simple interface that allows direct ROM/Kernel/Theme Downloading. Although it's in beta stages, I need everyone to help me pack it in with features.
Why is this better at all? Well, for starters, this gives chefs a free place to upload there baked goods/ROMs etc and have people download them directly without any 3rd party uploading service like depositfiles/rapidshare/uploaded/dropbox/etc. There are NO speed limits. There is a waiting system in place, but, it's not senseless. A free user waits for around 5 seconds. During that time the application calculates the best server and caches it for smooth downloading.
I've added some current ROMs from these forums. If chefs want to start uploading, they can apply within the application, and they all must know how to use FTP.
There are 4 different types of users. Guests (Have not registered, no benefits at all.), Free (Registered, Less waiting time than guests), Uploader (Registered, Less waiting time than Free users, Upload ROMs/Kernels/Themes), Moderator (Registered, Less waiting time then Uploaders, Upload ROMs/Kernels/Themes, Add Devices, Add Categories)
For more info and the Download link, head to the DL page @ 0m3ga.
...I'll add some screenshots to this post so it doesn't look so bland.
Currently Planned:
- User Ratings
- ROM/Kernel/Theme Screenshots
- ROM/Kernel/Theme Videos
- VIP Packages
- Android App
- Let me know...
sweet....thanks alot i hope this kicks ass i hate dl from 3rd partys

To be honest, this forum is dead. There are newer ROMs out there for the Vivid, and you won't find a link or thread anywhere on here for them. All of our top devs bounced and went to their own respective sites for their own cooking. So, unless any of said devs come back, this toolkit will only contain links to outdated sources. Great idea, just not for this forum. Not anymore, anyway...

I have a feeling development will start to pick up after ICS source is released from HTC. There wasn't much development for my tablet until ICS came. Now there are numerous ROMs for it. I have a feeling its going to be similar here. At least I hope it is.

I want to give Google+ another go - who do you follow that makes it worth visiting in the absence of any of my friends being on there?
Even though I love the way Google + works, none of my friends are there. Having said that I follow, Google, XDA, Shen Ye, IGN, and some other unknown people which Google thinks that they are interesting

So, we'll see.

Free Website Design for XDA Members
As the title states, I am going to be making websites for XDA members, as long as any one of the points below apply:
a) Simple, no online payments/logins/etc
b) Really in a short budget and need someone to make their website
c) A non-profit/small business that needs someone to help with their site
d) Have some time on their hands(It will usually take 2 days for a site)
e) Want to get a free website design!
Q. Why am I doing this?
A: I am a fairly new web developer who has about 4 websites under his belt(Examples Below) and would like to simply help people while gaining some experience. All my four clients are from four different countries, and 1 XDA member is also part of them.
Q.Why should I trust YOU?
A: Because there is nothing to lose from getting a website from me, and you are not forced to do so:good:
Q.Will you make me a 300 page megasite with huge requirements?
A: As much as I want to, I really do not have the time, nor the will to design something >60 pages.
Q. What do you use to make your site? Will you provide me with manual project files?
A: This is a very personal question for me, and I am not comfortable to answer this question. I will though, let you know that most of the project is done with notepad. That is all I can tell you. I can not provide you with the manual project files. Sorry.
Q. Have you ever worked with any XDA members' site?
A: Yes, I have. I have worked with user JONBOY345 and I am sure he has positive feedback from me.
Q. I have more questions.
A: PM Me.
Things that I need to build your site:
1. Your FTP Username
2. Your FTP Password
Sites I had made:
Site 1
Site 2
Site 3

Okay - I'll bite.
First off, I was careful in my wording. Html is used for making websites - not websites are made with html
Secondly, Python (if used for web development) is a server-side language, so you'd still need html to get a working site
Question still makes no sense though! :silly:
@Hidden Username Do you make your sites with like Mediator or Expression or something like that?

I can't speak for everyone, but if you are into it and actually want to learn it, it is more fun than "How hard is it?"
I am not studying web developing, but I did my research for a long time(>2 years).
There will be times you wish you never took it, especially when learning some CSS(GODDAMN APOSTROPHE KEY Y U NO BECOME AUTOMATIC SOMETIMES) but all in all, it is very worth it. You don't have to get a job to earn some small $$$, because you can tell people, advertise online, etc.

Hi, I like to keep this secret(My tools) but if you try hard you can easily tell what I used. I'll give you some hints, I use a combo of Adobe: PS, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and sometimes I get scripts and position them accordingly. I will be honest here, NONE of my sites are completely based off notepad, and upon consulting more of my web dev colleagues, I have learned that using notepad/notepad++ is too time consuming and actually decreases productivity.
However, at the end of the day, if the client is happy regardless of what I used to make it, I am also happy.

This app is always really unresponsive, especially in first use. Trying to scroll a page can cause freezes for a few seconds.
Not seeing this with any other function. Stock Google factory build with Franco kernel running stock settings.
I bought the app for simplicity and speed over having to use a browser but the browser is normally faster?
Ideas?
Its junk and I would never pay for it. I prefer XDA desktop in Dolphin browser!
XDA app is really weak. You can try tapatalk, but it's also slow while scrolling, etc. Just poor coded apps from what I've been told. You can try tweaking your system to improve performance in the app, but it won't be perfect.
aosp browser with xda only, no apps needed nor wanted. always fast this way
I've said a million times the only reason I use Tapatalk is because there aren't any alternatives. XDA app is pretty much the same thing.
I cant complain about app, its works, notification works fast, no problems, sometimes kinda slow loading, but never crash
Good to know. Surprising given the skill of many people on this forum, a simple app like this should be perfect..... They have my money so too late for me! Back to the browser.

Tapatalk isn't made by XDA. The XDA app is also just a branded and licensed Tapatalk client. No apps are "perfect" either, regardless whoever created it.

Its just that there are hardly any good alternatives. Most forums apps you can find will be based on the Tapatalk API anyways, too.

Can't come fast enough. I do have a feature request for XDA One. I want it to data mine all the links I press and send me to an XDA redirect that's down half the time, pr2-xda-devolpers.com. Make that happen, and I'm on board. Oh, and I want little XDA branding on all the screenshots I upload.

O frabjous day, calloo callay! This is pleasant news because I don't think it can be overstated how ghastly and absolutely horrid the Tapatalk user experience and design are.
Looking foward to the new app however; it's obvious the current one is lacking and far behind
That is wonderful news. I have one question not related to the actual development of the app, will it replace the free and premium apps or become a new app? (Reason being is I bought both Tapatalk and XDA Pro)
