Ps2 emulator - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There is a ps2 emulator on the market and I own just about every one there is. The reviews on this one are either great or they say it completely sucks. Anyone had any first hand experience with this thing
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

I do not believe even for a second that there would exist a fully-functioning PS2 emulator for Android devices. A Core 2 Duo can't run any PS2 games playably, there's no way a mobile device with ARM-processor would either.

Reviews either suck or sing it's praises? Sounds like developer and co giving good ratings and actual users giving actual ratings?
EDIT: Ah, just checked. Developer website down, everything just reeks of fraud.

Tbh, I do not understand people who even ask these kinds of things. Where's your common sense? How could a mobile device with a fraction of a proper PC's performance run a PS2 emulator when PC's themselves are struggling with that?

Don't question my common sense asshat. Android phones lower end than the note run an n64 emulator and also at one point were running a friggin dreamcast emulator so don't tell me what is and isn't possible on high end phones by great developers unless you are a great developer yourself

You're comparing N64 and PS2?
Uh, I think I'll leave this at that, no point in arguing if you believe they are anywhere near comparable.

I wasn't comparing an n64 and a ps2 great android developers that you are. I was making a point that if a low end cheap phone could run a n64 and dreamcast emulator that was said not to be able to by know it all great ones like y'all then a high end phone could possibly run a ps2 one. There has been tons of things done on android that "was not possible" according to geniuses like you that has been done. You tards get off my thread, you are not helping nor contributing any help. What's it with all these xda kid trolls taking over :banghead:
From the Beast : Galaxy Note

While probable, it is highly unlikely that a PS2 emulator is even possible even with the right software and development. It is just too taxing of an emulation. My high end desktop can run certain games great but then struggles to render other games. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice though, I've been wanting to play some PS2 rpgs on the go for a very long time.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing

It seems it was pulled off the market now. It was looking fishy with the review disparities and website down too
From the Beast : Galaxy Note

I tried awhile back to find the dreamcast emulator apk but couldn't. The guy quit working on it but did have it running some games first. One of my favorite systems ever

Skies of Arcadia on the go would be amazing!

Listen, I don't know what your problem is, but use your head and stop thinking that since you're on the internet you can act like a badass. The fact is, the Nintendo DS emulator runs like ****. N64oid also only plays a handful of first-party titles. Hell I bet your computer that you're on right now can't even emulate PS2 well.
The Note doesn't even play n64 games better than a single core. The same graphical glitches are present.
A ps2 emulator is NOT realistic, and you aren't even contributing to your own thread by saying "stfu" at every corner.

That's the same thing I said on the previous page: there is no way a current-gen ARM-device could run PS2 games at full speed. The Exynos/Snapdragon chips used in our Notes cannot compete with even just one core of a Core2Duo let alone both cores, and yet my previous PC was a Core2Duo+HD3770 and it still couldn't run PS2 games playably.
But the OP acts like a spoiled little brat and keeps telling people to shut up when told about that. Not terribly constructive behaviour, let alone mature.

Hoesntly if u want to talk to someone with some brains id check out the developer yongzh from slideme.org or the guys that developed fpse the ps1 emulator. Yongzh has always been very kind to me and I've been in corespondance (spelling?) with him for years now.

Handful of first party titles..? I can play over 40 on my g2 without a problem... there are probably only about 50 good games on every system in the first place.

So you consider "working" to play at 3fps and load three games? Yongzh is a stand up guy but that doesn't make the Nintendo DS emulator work any better or a ps2 emulator more feasible.

What are some good games Aria ppl are trying? I know its small screen will deter some from playing games but it can handle alot.
I've been playing the Sims 3 for a while but I think there are some better graphic ones that it could do as well. The emulators are retro but has anyone tried psx4droid? Id like some feedback on that. MT3GS ppl say some psx games are laggy!

Not true. I have hooked up my wiimote to play game boy advance games.
Things you will need:
1. Rooted phone.
2. CyanogenMod rom. Nothing with HTC Sense. Again if you are using Stock, Stock w/Root, or Liberated Stock it will not work.
3. Goto market, download "Wiimote Controller" by C.C.P. [email protected]
4. Follow Setup on the app. It will set up as another keyboard. Only useful for a handful of other apps, but like I said I use it for GBA
thanks for replying, i've been trying to find out if the cyanogen rom made changes to the bluetooth stack. Asked it twice and no resonce in that thread. Figures that I'd get an answer here lol.
This is good to know that it works when i make the switch from liberated to cyanogen

Thanks. It is awesome. I'm gonna try Gameboid later and see if I can get Advance Wars for it.
Guns 'n' Glory FREE is a great tower defense like game with a Western cowboys and indians twist. even the free version is hard enough to keep anyone entertained for a good while.
I like the games My Paper Plane 2, and Home run Battle 3D... The touch screen controls on the aria such too much for proper emulator gaming

Since not many people talked about the emulators, I guess I shall write a bit.
So I've been playing around with the emulators for the past week or so. I have the SNESoid, Gameboid, and PSX4droid emulators. Anyway first the SNES emulator. For the most part, games play pretty well. There is some occasional slowdown but not much. There is a bit lag though on games that use the SA-I processor (mario rpg and kirby super star). Sound on a few games are a little choppy but for the most part, it's decent. Just have to tinker with the settings. Games like super mario world (i have all stars) plays very well. Chrono trigger plays nicely too. I have close to 20 roms right now.
Next is the Gameboid emulator. I have a few roms for the gba emulator (FFI and FFII, and a gundam game, have tried a few others but decided to delete them lol..). I must say, the gba emulator runs the best. It's seems like the Aria hardware was made to play gba games lol. There's no lag whatsoever and the sound is great! I find it ironic because the gba had better hardware than the snes so you would think the snes roms would play better. I think later I'll try more roms like advanced wars or something.
Last is the PSX4droid emulator. Well let's just say it can play the games. First game I tried was chocobo racing. It was a little slow and the sound was bad. Then I tried digimon world 3. The game played well but a little slow and the sound was also bad lol. I'm going to try brave fencer musashi and warcraft II next. Both are currently being downloaded.
Oh btw...I suppose it would make a difference but during my gaming, I only had around 30-40mb of ram. Maybe I should've killed the other apps to gain more memory. I suppose it would run a bit better?
Angry birds beta is the funnest game i've played on the aria yet!

App Review: GENSOID

I just thought I would post a review of my recently favorite app: GENSOID.
Gensoid is an Sega Genesis console emulator for Android.
I use the free version, but with the paid version you can do things like save the game state, etc. (the free version saves wherever the ROM game can save, but the paid version lets you save anywhere/anytime, which can be useful for some, but I prefer the original gameplay)
Features:
on-screen, fully-customizable controller
fast-forward option (for those slow-scrolling games)
auto-rotate capable
decent battery utilization (played 4 hours straight once on a plane, still had some battery left)
Full Sound/Mute options
Fast responding emulator
I must say I really miss playing on the Genesis, and when I saw this in the market I had to get it. So far I have played:
Phantasy Star
Phantasy Star II
Phantasy Star III
Phantasy Star IV
Sonic the Hedgehog
Master of Monsters
Herzog Zwei
ToeJam and Earl
My list to try next are:
Shadowrun
Beyond Oasis
Shining Force
Shining Force 2
Land Stalker
I have not experienced any problems with it, other than the fact that the control takes a little getting used to.
ROMs are readily available on the net. Even though all Genesis games are out of production downloading them without owning the original cart may be of questionable legality, so I won't recommend any particular method of acquiring ROMs.
Overall I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Try FPse... its a playstation emulator... currently playing chrono cross and its working flawlessly. I really like the controls too.

I will have to give that a try.
Thanks.

Wrong question mate...that goes into piracy if you do not own the games to rip them so we do not talk about that stuff here.

You can see my disclaimer at the bottom:
"ROMs are readily available on the net. Even though all Genesis games are out of production downloading them without owning the original cart may be of questionable legality, so I won't recommend any particular method of acquiring ROMs"
The last thing we need is this site shut down over legal issues... no need to point to or recommend a source of ROMs, you can find them on your own (and it is pretty easy).
lol ok, talking about emulators should be piracy also, because it's the same thing. even if you own the game for a different system and make it work on a emulator is against the EULA anyways.

An emulator is a program. It is not written with its main purpose to be piracy. However the writer cannot be held responsible for what users do with the app.

PSP On The Xoom - Will It Be A Part Of The PlayStation Suite?

About the PSP emulation on the Xoom... we already know it should be able to be done without a problem considering the fact that Sony announced that they are officially bringing the PS1 and PS2 library of games to our Android Tegra 2 devices via the PlayStation Suite by the end of this year. Where does that leave our PSP games? Will it be joining the crew in the Suite? I would love to know. I am currently playing the new Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy on my PSP 3000 and it rules, I love it!! Would be kinda neat to run it on the Xoom for future use. Thoughts?

Very good point. I do have every single one of their emulators and I have quite a few of the premium paid ones too. They are a very awesome dev team and produce some top quality work. Maybe we should ask them if Sony has no plans to add in the PSP games to the Suite.
Don't know if you've seen this - http://pinoytutorial.com/techtorial...ase-for-playstation-games-on-tegra-2-devices/
I have seen it yes, but good info though. I'm really excited for the PlayStation Suite on Android! That includes the PS1 and PS2 games for sure as a fact. This I already knew. I wanna know if the PSP games will also be included in the PlayStation Suite line up. That would be pretty sweet to have all 3.. PS1, PS2, and PSP. Think about how many hardcore games Android will be gaining over iOS because of this. I'm thinking Final Fantasy. Mmmm!
Anything released by Sony for their own devices NGP/Xperia Play, that uses Android base (I don't actually know if NGP will run on Android, but it'd make sense for them to do so, since they'd get all the app support in addition to their own games), even if not released for other Androids, will likely be able to be hacked/modded to run on other devices, given the platform similarities.
PSP emulator would be awesome

I would hope they would. The PSN is Sony's thing. I'm almost sure that'll carry over. I highly doubt you will have to buy everything all over again considering the fact that your PSN account is linked to the PlayStation store. The store is essentially their version of the Android market in the sense that everything is linked to your email account. I wouldn't worry about that. But if for some reason they don't... that would suck.

I read somewhere that they would not carry over. It was on one of the articles last month. That and the 5 time download limit are the reasons I would never buy from the PSN.
Sony has stated that any game bought through the PSP would
not work on the android phones or service. You would need to repurchase any game you wished to play.
That's not cool man. Rebuy all games? I guess that makes sense I suppose.

Hello there! Despite what you may want to believe, you are still using an emulator! Emulators aren't perfect, and you may not be able to play all games properly! Hell, I myself had issues with Zelda when I tried it on my PC a few years back!
If you want the perfect emulator for N64 that can play all the games that you throw at it, then walk into a store and ask for an N64. That's your best bet.

[Q] Playstation 2 games on my Z1

Hello folks,
I've recently bought the Sony Xperia Z1 and I'm overloaded with questions, I'm trying to figure out a lot myself, but sometimes I need help A friend told me XDA was the place to be, so here I am.
As the title says, I'm wondering if there is some sort of a PS2 emulotar available, I've had the for gameboy advance etc, but now that I've gotten one of the better phones, I wondered if I could get better games aswell
I've seen people play FFX and GTA 3 and many other games. But couldn't figure out how they did it.
Any hints?
greetings
I'm not aware of any current PS2 emulator, i may be proved wrong. (google playstation emulators for android) you do have FPse for android though.
but for GTA and FFX, look in the play stores for games, you have GTA vice city and GTA.

What are the perks of having your PS3 account sync'd with your Z1 then? I did this via sony entertainment network, but yet have to find the perks of this..

Syncing with Ps3 to Z1 is so that you can connect with your online Ps3 friends, or get updated with some of your online ps3 games (scores, level, etc)... there are a few apps that you can install to do that like MYNBA2k13... etc...

You can't emulate PS2 games in Z1. PS2 is a very complex console and even Snapdragon 800 can't handle it. You remember PCSX2 - A PS2 emulator for PC? It's in development stages for almost 10 years and haven't seen a final release until now. The development team behind PCSX2 claims that, PS2 is a vey complex console to emulate compared to that of PSOne as many have of the hardware features have to be emulated in real time which is currently not stable and that's why. Though being in development for 10 years, PCSX2 doesn't support ALL PS2 games (80% will work) either. From above you can guess for android. In order to emulate PS2 games in android, it needs a far more powerful processor than S800 and gigs of memory which might seem impossible as of now. Even if the hardware in our Smartphones matches PS2 in the near future, writing an emulator though is very much of a hassle and will be full of bugs rendering the emulator useless. Guess the emulator era are over for Android with PSOne, period.
Alright, thanks both for the clarifications. I'll try the app.
Cheers!

Didn't I mention it's true for PS2 alone? The last point I mentioned is for full consoles and not portable ones. I know there's emulators for PSP and DS.
