Is there a way to prevent auto mount of the internal storage whenever we connect to a PC via USB? The external SD card should still be auto-mounted.
I use my 6GB internal storage as the primary SDCard on my O2X and the external SD card as my storage area for music, movies etc. Essentially that my ext SD is what I frequently use for transferring media from PC to Phone and very rarely transfer stuff to the internal storage.
On the int storage if you have apps, pics being used as wallpapers and widgets, etc. then USB auto-mount of int storage disables all of them when the fact is that you just need the ext SD card.
Any ideas on how the USB auto-mounts can be controlled?
Thank you.

How to sync a playlist from your pc directly to the external sd card? I can only get the music transferred to the internal sd. If I wanted the files on my ext sd, I've been tranferring them manually from internal out to external. There must be a simpler way to do this.
I have XXKB9 ROM installed.
When I goto Settings > SD card and phone storage, it has follonings
SD card - 7.38 GB (sub menus Total space, Available Space, Unmount SD card & Format SD card - Disabled)
USD Storage 1.52 GB (sub menus Total space, Available Space, Format USB storage)
Device Memory - 1.56 GB
When I try to transfer an app to the SD card, It only move to the USB storage not to my physical SD card (8GB). With some apps, this USB storage show as Internal SD card & the SD card as External SD card.
How to move apps to the real SD card (8GB)?
Also the menu does not allow me to format the SD card as that option is disabled.
u can swap ur internal sd with ur external sd.
in gingerbread firmware...internal sd = usb storage ... and external sd = sd card.
u can use this link to learn how to swap ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088474
but use this vold.fstab from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151078
If you want to format external sd card then first choose unmount sdcard option from setting...then format sd card option will enable automatically...!!!
Hi
Can anyone clarify the layout of storage on the SGN?
I have a 16GB removable SD card in the Note.
In Root Explorer I can see /SDCARD, beneath which I have /SDCARD/external_sd and /SDCARD/usbStorage. This structure is visible as drive F: on my PC when storage is connected to PC.
I also see a drive G: which appears to be mapped to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd.
Can you tell me which is the removable SD card and which is internal phone memory?
Is the 'external_sd' label being used for two different places?
As you can tell, I'm not an expert in UNIX-style folder allocations!
Thanks.
SD card is internal memory
SD card/Ext SD card is your ext memory card
SD card/USB storage is device attached with OTG cable
Thanks - that helps hugely!
Disregard the rest of this I've answered my own question!
How do I swap it because I have gone to setting and under storage and usb, I have change default write disk to SD card yet the issue still persist …all my files, apps folder still goes and stored in internal memory then there is an option under memory card that says format as internal storage .if u should do that all apps folder and activities will be stored in the SD card but u will unable to view the phone internal storage even in the pc, the phone internal memory will not display except only d SD card which is now acting and working as internal and external memory
Pls I need solution for dis ..

You should be able to go to Storage and USB in Settings and format sd card as internal
