Hey guys,
I am currently using Roger's V20C flased with the KDZ method (so the correct basebands should have been installed).
However once in a while, my 4g icon and the signal bars will turn white and then there will be no more data transfer after that. Sometimes turning on then off the airplane mode fixes this. Sometimes it doesn't and I will need to reset.
Could someone tell me how I can fix this issue ?
Thanks,
d
You're doing the only fix there is. I have the same issue. Just keep an eye on it and airplane mode when you have to. I read someone downloaded an app called "activity?" where they set it to auto airplane mode every so often so as not to have to worry about it.

There have been a few discussions about this, but I have yet to find a solution that works for me...
I flashed CM6 today and now I'm finding that when I enable wifi, my 3g data connection is lost. Not sure this is really a CM problem, I just want to find a fix.
My setup:
Nexus One - CM6.RC1 - FRF91

what do you mean it's lost.. when you're turning Wifi on, that's the whole point (that you want to use your Wifi connection for data, and not your mobile 3G data.) Maybe I'm not understanding you?

Even with wifi on you still need 3g data to send and receive MMS. I can't replicate this problem, though, so I'm afraid I'm not much help. All I can suggest is trying a full wipe of everything but battery and rotate stats and try to flash it again. See if that helps.
It works fine for me. Are you sure you are confussing not having both icons in the notification bar with 3g being off?
I answered this question a few months ago too.
Your 3g is not lost, it just hides the icon. Go into settings and look what network you are still connected to for yourself, it will still say 3g. If you were to send or receive an mms the 3g icon would briefly pop up, send the message, then disappear. Your phone is working just fine
thanks for the help... @roger, you are correct, i didn't realize that the icon was hidden vs. actually turned off, nor did i think to go check the actual service rather than rely on the icon
Hi, I am currently using Mackay's ROM which is CM 10.1 based. Sometimes when I turned on 2G data, it won't connect at all. When I tried switching to 3G, it stays at 2G and nothing happens. When I switched to airplane mode, the data switched to 3G but the signal bar stays full bar on my drop-down menu and there is no signal, aeroplane icons on the top right corner of the phone. The problem also occurs the other way round when i switch from 3G to 2G. The problem is only solved when i reboot my phone, however after another few minutes or so, I have to reboot again for data connection. Does anyone have a permanent solution for this? As it is frustrating to keep rebooting. And i tried changing APNs. The default APN for me is MiWorld WAP (GPRS). However, the default APN does not really connects. It's like a Laptop having a 'Limited Connection' WiFi. So I can only switch between the other 2 APN with is M1 and Sunsuft Internet, which the problem still occurs. Thanks to anyone who replies.
Have a nice day!
Already tried flashing a newer baseband?
Sent from my LG-P760 using xda app-developers app
Yes, sometimes this happens to me too...but it always did with every CM10/CM10.1-based roms.
I tried many basebands (v20, v28, v30), but it always happens. To me, about twice a week.
I always thought this could be related with the fact that we don't have a baseband made for jelly bean, and so I gave up on this issue.
When it happens, I simply reboot my phone.
And I avoid to use airplane mode, because usually after disabling it (if I left it enabled for more than a few minutes) I can't get network coverage until I reboot.

Thanks for the reply. I will try flashing newer baseband.
//Edit 1 What is the recommended baseband in Singapore? I tested V30B Euro OPEN, but doesn't seem to solve it.
//Edit 2 I read on other threads which says choose the baseband from your region, and i went to download a V30C Singapore version of the firmware and extracted and flashed the baseband. It seems to be working well.
Hi guys,
on my xt1068 (5.0.2 stock, no root, locked bootloader), 3g data always hangs when I'm travelling (e.g. Home -> Work). The only solution is to cycle the connection....
When I'm at home it works like a charm, even for an entire weekend
The mobile data icon remains "on", with full bars and H/3g symbol...but I cannot send or receive data.
Any ideas? As you understand this is really annoying. :silly:
Thanks.

I have the same problem but not all the time and I'm still on 4.4.4, I leave the house therefore disconnecting from WiFi sometimes 3G doesn't 'pickup' esp. if I turn off WiFi after it has moved out of range, like you it displays 3G or H but no data can be sent, the only way to fix it is rebooting the device.
Do you turn off WiFi manually after leaving the house? as mine only seems to do it if I do that.

Hmm, I always leave the WiFi on. I'm going back home atm and I just switched it off. Let's see if 3g stays active...(even if it would be the exact opposite behaviour than yours)
Thanks for the tip, I'll keep you posted.
So I am using a Nexus 6 on the Latest Tmo build (28E?) of Stock Rom and Stock Kernel Rooted, Encrypted.
Since the update that enabled wifi-calling for the N6 I have taken to setting my phone to airplane mode and turning on Wifi only to save battery since the signal at my house bounces back and forth from LTE to 3G and that murders my battery. Most of the time the signal strength graph shows blank and battery app correctly shows the cellular radios as having no on time. However, after being idle for a while (it would seem) the graph begins to show the signal strength as Red (no signal) and the cellular standby shows up in battery usage with the radios as being on (with no signal) and "active for a few seconds". Toggling airplane mode on and off usually restores them to showing up as off. Other times I never notice and it stays on for a few hours and goes back off on it's own. My main concern is that it seems to be activating the radio on it's own, my minor concern would be that my battery monitor app shows that it's using the battery. What could be causing this? I don't think it's a reporting glitch, because it shows up in both the system battery panel and a 3rd party one. If anyone has any thoughts or could point me towards a tool that could help me figure out what's turning on the radio when it's supposed to be off, please let me know. I've included photos from today showing what I'm talking about, the phone has been in airplane mode the whole time in these photos.
Thanks so much!
Kev
I think your issue is one of the reason why I cannot get Wifi Calling working at all. No matter what I do, my phone is holding onto a cellular network. Still trying to figure this out.

The best I can tell, "Android OS" is the only thing that shows any mobile packets sent or received so it's got to be a system thing.
If you have the myT-mobile app installed try uninstalling it I found that app totally screwed with my Nexus 6, turning WiFi on when I had no desire to use it.

Unfortunately that's not the fix. I don't have that app installed. Tmo is sending me a new SIM as I am also randomly having Wifi calling drop in and out even while my wifi is connected.
Does anyone know any app that would let me see specifically what app is engaging the mobile radio?
Airplane mode disables all outbound communications however inbound ones are still discoverable.
I can receive calls in airplane mode...

Hi!
I'm trying to fix my phone that's been stuck in airplane mode since i can't remember. I got another one, but wanna make this one work. I've tried some stuff i've read but nothing... i've recently installed CM13 and no change. I can swap out of airplane mode, but i never get a signal. If i try to choose a network on my own it just says that something went wrong. People have had the same problem with the HTC One X, but i haven't seen much from Mini 2 users. Those guys tried different kernels and roms, but i don't know what to try.... any thoughts? Uploading a picture of my radio status.
Thanks in advance!
(edit: added two more pictures. When i hold down the power button it says that airplane mode is on, but in my notification bar and settings the airplane mode is off...)

Have you tried???
Bug occurs if you have WiFi Calling on when you turn off WiFi.
To fix :
1) Enable WiFi
2) Enable WiFi Calling
3) Let WiFi Calling re-establish itself.
4) Turn WiFi Calling off
5) Wait 10 seconds
6) Turn WiFi off.
Your 4g should be back.
