Hello,
Someone gave me a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 E15i and I'm wondering how to unlock it. I was thinking that it's easy to unlock because unlocking an iPhone is really easy and free of charge most of the time. Is it also possible with Sony Ericsson phones specifically the Android-based ones?
I did some research about the unlock code stuffs and a money must be used to use it but is there an alternative for that? Like is it possible to completely unlock a phone using a software and just the USB cable that comes with the phone?
I badly need to use a different network on that phone. Please help me out.
Thanks.
I unlocked bootloader and after booting x8 sometimes it shows me message ´Enter network unlock code´ i chose dismiss and after that i use unlocked phone (I can put any sim card and it works, just click on dismiss that`s all )

so let me just get this straight, i can just simply unlock the bootloader and not to install any custom firmwares etc? just unlock it and the phone will definitely be unlocked? like i can use any sim cards?
another thing, upon exploring this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=846 it contains lots of custom firmwares as well as http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices/sony-ericsson-xperia-x8 <-- i didn't understand it. is it a custom OS?
also is it possible to install the latest version of android in an x8? like the gingerbread or the ice cream sandwich?
and what happens when something went wrong when unlocking the phone?
My recommendation is to unlock the bootloader, root x8 and install a custom kernel and ROM. Of course you'll be able to install ICS or any other custom firmware (I use 1.1 firedroid together with Alfs v07-ICS kernel). Unlocking the bootloader you will be able to use any SIM card. And if anything goes wrong flash your phone using SEUS and in addition have at least 10 topics to unbrick yours mobile phone.
Unlocking bootloader unlocks SIM also only if you do it with Flashtool. And it was not clearly confirmed that it works every time.

superoneclick
I have an e15a, 12w02.
I was wondering if superoneclick works for all versions, I read somewhere that anything after 11w35 gets bricked, but I couldn't find evidence if superonclick is a fix all for root.
So, will superoneclick give me root access for my e15a 12w02?

Rooting the ROM does not have anything to do with the hard brick danger related to boot loader unlock.
So yes, it's perfectly safe to root your ROM with SuperOneClick.
unlocking bootloader
So I'm guessing that the 12w02 will be bricked when I use the SE tweak tool to attempt to unlock the bootloader?
This means that I can only install custom roms using the xRecovery tool and not any of the newer more awesome that requires a different kernel (gingerbread rom etc?)
Hi! I know this post is veeeeery old, but I have this little [noob] problem heheh..... I changed the basebands (from 06 to15 as directed to change the ROM), flashed oxydo zfc3 (latest) and installed this ROM ZenceFil Veda (Which looks great!).... But I still have the sim locked!! How do I unlock it?! I just got this phone and I really need to use another network !!! Please , can somebody help me???!!:crying::crying::crying:

Hey guys my cousin gave me his Xperia X8 to remove the SIMLOCK from. Its an Xperia X8. I found this guide however the programs included arent working for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957
It says that the phone must have manufacturing code 11W28 and below and the Xperia X8 I have got it 11W22
It says run s1tool and click DO JOB. However the s1tool has been updated and when I click identify and connect Xperia X8 when turned off as well as pressing the back button nothing appears within S1Tool. So I cant continue the remaining steps.
The phone is not unlocked and runs stock SE Firmware.

You can safely unlock the BL on yoyr phone. Here is what you have to do in order for S1tool to read your phone properly.
1. Install the Flash mode and ADB drivers for your phone. These drivers are bundled with Flashtool, just download and install Flashtool (link in dev section) and then go into the drivers folder and install. Then reboot your computer.
2. Turn off your phone. Then go into S1tool and click identify. Press and hold the back button while connecting your phone to the computer via USB cable. A green led light should appear to indicate that your phone has entered flash mode. S1tool should then start identification.

Hi guys, can somebody confirm that if I unlocked my phone by Omnius than if I unlock it with S1Tool then it will work? There are a lot of discussions about this on the net but it is not clear. On many sites written that I will lose the network signal or the radio if I do it...or the sim-lock will be restored again...So if somebody know this please write a clear answer for example:
Yes you can unlock it with S1Tool without any problem or
Yes you can unlock it with Omnius without any problem or

Flashing unbranded firmware will not allow you to unlock the bootloader if you currently cannot unlock it.

You can ask, but I bet they say no.
up to date, any method to unlock it?
Seriously?
I also have this problem, the boot loader is locked and I need to install the recovery. Prompt really working bootloader unlock method, none of the methods I did not ride. Through the website Sony have an error occurs, full of requests to install the update file, it weighs 1.5 gigabytes. I do not have as much Internet traffic to download it.
Currenty is possible if you are both rooted and in FW 303. Try this.
Hey guys, I am fairly new to the android phones, (recently came from an iPhone) but I had heard so much about the freedoms with the Android os so I decided to switch.
I purchased the Sony Xperia T (LT30a) locked on the Bell mobility LTE network. I have really wanted to unlock the bootloader, so when I went in to check it said "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO". after some searching I read that it was my carrier preventing the bootloader from being unlocked, and that if I followed the following simple steps, it would change the message to :"Bootloader Unlock Allowed: YES". so here is what I did:
1. Flashed a Generic firmware to my phone (ICS it was a uk generic) which then changed my model number in "About phone" from LT30a to LT30p and removed all the bell branding.
2. Using an IMEI number, i was able to get an unlock code and unlocked the phones sim card to work on any network, and have tested and it does work.
the problem I am having is that even after doing this, the bootloader is still "locked" and can not be unlocked. I have taken a look at the methods for the test pin, but that involves removing the battery to view the motherboard, which sucks because this phone the battery is not removable. if anyone know a free or paid way to unlock the bootloader on the Xperia T LT30a or LT30p models, please let me know! thanks.
I dont know where you read that, but it is wrong and there is no way to change that message.
If it says no, then your bootloader can not be unlocked.
Its not Sony's fault, its not googles fault, its Bells fault for being a dev unfriendly provider.
Test point method will not work even if we could remove the battery, that loophole has been closed in 2012 devices.

You can only install stock based custom roms because you wony be able to flash a custom kernel with a locked bootloader. Therefore there is no hope for cyanogenmod, AOKP or MUIU
There are several in the Dev section to choose from, ranging from early ICS firmwares to the latest JB firmware.
I dont recommend Roms (Even my own) as choosing a rom should be a personal thing, but the I am currently on Timin8rs rooted and deodexed JB rom which you can flash.
You will need to root your phone in order to flash a recovery, then flash the .zip for the rom using that recovery.
Find all instructions for doing that in the All in one thread. Its the first thread in the Q&A section.
good luck and if you need extra help after reading up on what you need to do then ask. But remember to read up first!

thank you very much! hopefully sometime in the near future they come out with a way to fix this problem, and believe me, I do not blame sony at all for this
Sorry for the double post! But I just wanted to say, that if anyone needs help testing different roms and/or ways of unlocking a locked bootloader, I do have a sim unlocked xperia T and just wanted to throw this out, but if sony does not "perma lock" the bootloader, and if it is infact the carrier, then would this not prove that it is sonething in the firmware? I spoke with my sister who is a manager for a bell store here, acording to her, Bell is not authorized to open, or attempt to fix this phone, it is simply sent to sony for repairs.. Just makes me wonder because if Bell can not open the phone, then they must have used some sort of software.. I have always thought of software as "semi-permenant" that it can be reversed , and that its only a matter of figuring out how to reverse it?

Short answer - you can't unlock it ever.
The only exception would be if the status changed to disallowed after rooting. There is a fix for that somewhere in Doomlord's rooting thread.

Unless it was rooted, as this sometimes changes the status to 'No' as stated in the first post of Doomlord's thread. I used bin4ry's tool and the bootloader status was untouched.
Edit:

if u had an unlockable bootloader device, after using this method the device will be detected as LOCKED or unlock not possible!!! (to fix this use this fix)

Troubleshooting:
if your device has unlockable bootloader then after applying this hack the bootloader status will turn "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"
in that case dont worry the users have reported that doing a repair via SEUS will flash back stock firmware and turn this status to "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" (the same might also be achieved by flashing a stock FTF using FlashTool )

Hello and welcome to the forums.
The only way to network unlock this device is with a code, either from the original network provider or from an online seller. It is not possible to unlock any other way.
Additionally, as you're new here, I will suggest you should start a new thread when you have a question in future instead of bumping a very old thread unrelated to your question.

I'm thankful that there are still wanting to address this issue of the bootloader not being unlocked. So my question is as such - Is there anyway (either by contacting T-Mobile, or Sony) that my phone, which is is SIM Unlocked (I know SIM unlock has nothing to do with bootloader unlock), can be bootloader unlocked? I'm just hoping that I can either get with Sony/Tmobile and have them do it, or even if there is a legitimate paid service out there then I will do that too! Any kind of help or anything would be appreciated! All I read is, 'If you're bootloader says no than that means NO', or I will often see people say that their bootloader says no and yet they can still enter fastboot mode.
Currently my device is Sony Xperia Z C6606 Tmobile version. I'm going to try to switch out my microUSB cord and see if fastboot works then. I'm still trying to have some kind of hope that maybe it will somehow work and I can flash a custom rom. Currently, whenever I plug in my phone into any computer, (with drivers installed) it never even shows up in the Device manager so I'm thinking it's an issue with my cord. It charges the device only.
Or should I just sell this phone and get a different android phone where I can unlock the bootloader? lol
Thanks!
You can only flash stock based roms with a stock, unmodified kernel.
Fastboot will connect even with a locked bootloader, but the commands you can use are extremely limited and in your case you cannot do anything with it at all. Your USB cable is not the problem.
If you want to flash CM/PA/AOSP etc, then you'll have to buy a new device. The bootloader is non unlockable. Nobody has cracked the security yet and I don't think anyone is even working on it, to be honest.
Sony or T-Mobile will not unlock it.

You only get a black screen with fastboot, the commands are issued from the computer.
However you do not need fastboot to install custom roms with a stock kernel. Look in the development section for them
